Oh, I see you use Formula 1 Carnauba Wax, damn that thing is awesome, my dad used to polish his Cobalt Blue Fiat NE 118 with that and the car would look like its newly painted!Originally posted by Dipan12

Dipan12, all things fine and good but Rvms are a safety feature. One always needs them.

I think its not gonna happen. Because,
1) Hero strongly showcased their Gen.2 ZMA/ZMR in auto expo 2016 (& continues their productions), this means they have faith in their new models despite sales failure.
2) Bringing back a discontinued old Karizma shows Hero's failure in Gen.2 ZMA/ZMR, which is not good for company reputation. The company cannot reverse its investment, time & reputation being put on Gen.2 ZMA/ZMR.
By these reasons & as per Hero's company tradition/rules I believe, forget the old Karizma

Roger that, can you tell me how the throttle body helps in this case, I mean this is not persistent but only occurs in the first few minutes, I haven't a clue.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostAsk him to follow the warm up routine religiously while starting the bike each time. Whenever the bike is started after a long gap, such as in the morning, it should be idled for 30 to 45 seconds before moving and the first few kilometers must be ridden like run in period.
This ensures that engine oil reaches all nooks and crannies and provides sufficient lubrication after being parked for a long time and the engine reaches it's optimal operating temperature.
Also, ask him to get his throttle body cleaned.

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
To anyone who might have a clue to this, I have an acquaintance who has a karizma zmr and I heard this for the first time but his bike tends to give a jumpy jerky ride for the first 500 metres before smoothing out, like the throttle response suddenly cuts off and comes back on(the throttle is left at the same position when it happens). This happens to him on cold starts and a ASC guy told him that the fuel injection takes a little time to circulate the fuel (I was amazed to hear this statement).
What I guess is that he is not using the correct oil which might be making his bike jerk in the beginning.
Awaiting expertise on this matter.

I completely comprehend, and I did read your multiple brushes with bad luck, well I hope this time you have hit the luck-pot(for the lack of a better word) and yes the P220 is pretty old, atleast older than the new ZMR, well I really want to buy the ZMR, but I will wait for some months to pass and see what development occurs,Originally posted by srikanth kvnap View PostWooa! Lot have been discussed. Interesting though. Now let me tell you, I am not discouraging you from ZMR... Hell ya it's still my favourite bike not because I own it but because it's damn good and also there is no other bike which suits my requirements within my budget. (Next time I could own a CBR
)
Like you, a lot of the bikes look puny with me on it. ZMR is the biggest and longest bike in my price bracket. Plus yes, owning karizma was a dream.
I have few friends having both zmr and zma. None has any problem whatsoever. And trust me (you have to when a guy with problematic bike says this) the whole problem is with ASCs. The engine was opened 4 times. Out of which 3 times was ASC's mistake. I can point specifically the mistakes they did but that's a long story. This time around I feel the bike is alright <touchwood>.
And yes ZMR is old bike but hey if u talk about p220, isn't it old too? I was specifically talking about the AS and RS.
Whatever it is, whichever bike you choose be prepared to curb all the inhibitions of dealing with ASCs. Trust me their small mistakes can screw your bike big time.

being huge(Me) has its downsides seriously! :P

Aw shucks, I really liked the look of the P220F's exhaust :POriginally posted by Divya Sharan View PostNope. You can't fit it!
1st, the pipe diameter is different (exhaust that comes out of the engine). Every mm counts. P220F has a thicker pipe by 4mm AFAIK.
2nd, the end can is designed for scavenging more air as per P220F's exhaust stroke, it won't work effectively on a Karizma.
But this is the advanced stage, since point 1 is NOT satisfied, point 2 can't be fit without some jugaad.
thanks for the info though.

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Thanks for the appreciation dada!Originally posted by Dipan12Ok extreeeeemly thank you for your explanation . I am going to buy 10w40 FS MOTUL 7100 from flipkart . I don't want to buy 20w40 as it might give starting problem but 10w40 FS suits me . And as you have said mileage - I just don't give a damn about it , I want fast revving bike - which I got , and thanks for the idea about 10w40 .
Don't use FS oils. On our bikes, we're bound to see oil leakages.
Engines that come with FS oils from factory are set to super tight clearances. On our bikes, clearances are more. So, oil seeps through. Also, FS oil tends to eat the rubber O rings and seeps through.
I suggest you use mineral or semi Synth oils.
Shell has AX5 for mineral and AX7 for semi synth. Drain in under 2500 km.
Easy on pocket too.

Nope. You can't fit it!Originally posted by Arijit Dutta View PostI suddenly had this idea in mind and I am going to ask it from a completely lay man's point of view, which is, is the Pulsar 220F's exhaust fittable on the new ZMR? If so what will be the procedures, effects?
