Whenever I pressed the clutch I could hear a WHIRLING noise like the oil is circulating something like that and when i left the clutch no noise . The noise was minute rearrly minute but if u hear properly it could be heard . Can anyone tell me what is that WHIRLING noise ? - felt / heard like the oil is circulating .
Usually it's the other way around, but either way it's the clutch Bell that needs to be inspected. Take it to SVC and ask them inspect the entire clutch and replace springs if they are out of spec, and also clean the rotor filter while they're at it, to save on labor costs in the future you may also ask them to change kicker oil seal and cover gasket.

Not that strange. Feel depends on person to person. So if it works well for you then definitely keep using it. Though the bike runs very well with cheaper oils. Hence do consider using cheaper oils with shorter intervals as the engine would be more happy the more it runs on new oil.

Currently I ride a 2015 P220 on 7100 20W50, and the oil lasts anywhere from 2~3k, I change it once the bike becomes rough.

It is always better to change a decent oil frequently than to overuse an expensive one.

Mine was a Karizma R 2011, doubt if that makes any difference.

I've tested everything on mine even the diesels and sadly the Motul's weren't up to the mark and made the bike rough but for some reason their Yamalube variants were decent.

I'm from Kerala and during that term the temp would be around 24~32 here.

Absolutely echo your thoughts. Though I stick to shell ss, I have no problems using a 240 rupees can of oil and change it in 1500 km intervals.
Makes more sense rather than stretching an oil for long intervals. My P220 runs on 7100 and I still change it when the engine becomes rough and that's between 2~3k.

As already explained by members, avoid this plug.
NGK DPR8EGP-9 is another awesome plug. It's a Titanium tip plug and it can last 16-18k km without issues. Costs only 170 rupees per piece.

    Hi Dipan,

For Karizma/ZMR, spark plug model is: NGK DPR8EA-9 & the plug is not iridium, it's conventional type. Its available with Hero spare shops.

I can understand bro. Have gone thru that phase. But selling is an easy solution, there's no learning for us. If the problem is frequent, make complaint on hero website. Give one or two more tries and then if the problem persits sell it off, no point in breaking our head. All the best bro.

    The problem :-
    1. The bike vibrates like a vibrator at near 4k rpm and it is very difficult as i have to change gears so many times to evade going 4k.

    2. After about 300 odd kms the bike has the tappet problem. Which I Have to go to the service center to rectify. Here the Svc guys tighten the tappet and that's it.

Even if one lives someone around or near kolkata, we can meet. I can come over. Thanks...

P.S. I will sell off the ZMR if I cannot rectify this problem in a few months :-(
    Hi mate,

If SVC guys have repeatedly tightened the tappet settings without proper procedure (feeler gauges), then most probably crank bearings will wear out very soon!

If you loosen the tappets to their original factory settings, you will get irritating valve noise, decrease in performance & misfiring. So only way is ahead, meaning tightening.

If you go on tightening the tappets, eventually crank bearing will wear out, so again you will face tappet problem, again svc tightens tappets (this is inter-related events) but finally the bearing will fully wear out along with valves, timing chain. Piston too may develop lateral play & fail. That will be a very major engine work.

The damage is done. Instead of fiddling around your bike, wasting your time/money for uncertain results, My sincere advice for your well being is to sell off your ZMR. Buy a brand new bike & never let any mechanic fiddle around with your timing, valve & carburetor settings. Unless the mechanic is very skilled & qualified.

I have given this answer based on my personal experience & a good amount of research.
