Re: Suzuki Inazuma 250 Review : xBhp's Ride Report

It looks like Inazuma has quite a bit of interest among the people who want sane but reliable tourer (that leaves REs out). Even I am really keen in buying this, but Hyderabad does not have any dealers selling them. Although I have had a test ride in Bangalore (which was very impressive), I could do with another look.

Plus it would help if owners post their long term ownership reviews. They have been very rare.

I would request fellow xbhpians (who own one) to help us out or nudge their friends (who own one) to post a long term ownership review. It would be much appreciated.

You will have to wait for the long term ownership review as before the price cut only three bikes were sold all over India. After the price cut the bikes would have done 6-7 k max.

I thought it was only for the first two months of 2014-2015 fiscal, April & May. Any source of this information?

I don't think it has that much potential to garner those number(6-7 thousand).

Edit: (as of PTI Jun 16, 2014, 05.03PM IST) Suzuki Motorcycle slashes Inazuma bike price by Rs 1 lakh - Economic Times

Excerpt :
However, the market response has been lukewarm. In the April-May period this fiscal, the company had produced 11 units of the Inazuma but sold only three units. While in the month of May, it did produce only two units but sold none.
Did someone overlook there?
How many were sold in previous fiscal year?

Posted on May 6 2014 - 3:34pm IST : IAB Report - 200 units of Suzuki Inazuma sold

Atul Gupta, said that the company has sold close to 200 units of the niche bike.
we believe what we want to,
stop exploring when we want to.

Search rediff with inazuma you would know that before price cut it sold only three bikes. And you are wrongly reading the other part of my post. I meant that post price cut the new bikes could have only done 6 or 7 k kms.

My Black Duckling had done 1000KM first stage of running in is complete and on completing second stage of running in max. rpm till 8500. till now bike is smooth till 110KMPH though crossed it once only able to sustain 95-105KMPH easily for long period but only problem was too much vibration on shoulders due to air blast against my shirt.

Will post full long term review very soon as i am running 120+ KM(55KM single ride) every second day on it. If you want kindly check my ownership thread which i will update soon.

Yes on paper this bikes looks pretty ordinary, in pics also not looks so good but there is more to this bike which meets the eye, which you cannot find on spec sheets, i had previously owned R15 V1 which was technological marvel at his time and can do compete in top speed etc with Inazuma but like its say its not the top speed which matter but how you reach there and how it behave at that speed.

And yes you will get plenty of admirer for looks, just get this bike on road and see yourself.

Completed 1000KM first service done, getting feel of bike now as i can revv upto 8.5K for second stage running in , can easily maintain 95-105KMPH on 7.5K for long distance, no vibration till now reached top speed 110KMPH, will post more comments after getting more feel of it in higher rpm range. gear super smooth and precise on higher rpm also, no sound or jerk on gear change just a feel that gear had changed and confirm it on meter gear indicator.

Nice to know you've moved on to the 2nd phase of break-in. BTW, could you provide a break-up of the 1st service cost?

Also, any indications on the FE you get, will be helpful.

Did a quick check - you seem to be getting 37 kmpl (approx). Good for the riding so far. It'll only improve, now that you've completed 1st service.

The bike has a warranty for 2 years, 35000 km. It's not advisable to service elsewhere, until the warranty period is over. Post which you can definitely consider.

Also, was it Motul 7100?

The mileage is pretty impressive. Does the first service include a oil-filter change too? It is suggested pretty widely that oil filter change is good after initial run-in period.

Also, some other threads mention first services expenses of around 4K (quoted from the ASC I believe). Is this actually for real?

Yes. I know. I took test rides and should say Its an engineering marvel. Its all a different feel on this bike. I plan to buy in next year. as I said before, this bike looks much impressive when you see in flesh.

As he's mentioned in the break-up, the oil filter is changed. In fact, that's mandatory in the first service & after that once every 10k km, although, oil is changed every 5k km.

If you total the expenses he's mentioned, it's 4K.
liionheart, was wondering why they changed with FS oil, are we not supposed to run-in the bike with mineral or SS?

I am very keen on buying Inazuma. But lack of dealership in Hyderabad is proving to be a pain.

Yes, for South India, the bike is available only at Chennai & Bangalore.

BTW, just heard they're using Motul 300V here in Chennai.
