Service centers here at pune do not have the ecstar r9000 yet. They put the idemitsu one only and I seriously hate it from the deepest core of my heart. Your free service period is over but you are still in warranty period and you have to get the next 4 paid services done at an ASC to maintain the validity of the warranty, and for that you have to use the Oil that is recommended by Suzuki. Only 3 oils are recommended by Suzuki for Gixxer and I have already mentioned it in the previous post.
Other than that you can use any motorcycle oil you want as long as its the proper grade. You wont feel any difference. I have already mentioned this in my Ownership review. Visit my channel and watch the 20k kms ownership review, link to the channel is in my signature.Leave a comment:

My bike is not in warranty anymore. Its a 2017 SP 16 months old with almost 12k Km done. I want to try SS oils. Have tried the SS crap by idemitsu and Motul 7100. Motul 7100 is overkill but is definitely worth it. I like it very much and have only positive points on it except for the cost. Even i faced the same head leaks in my 3rd service where i opted for motul 7100 though i ran it for 2k and in my 4th service replaced the engine head washer and gasket cyclinder cover and changed to r9000 and soon after few days there were again signs of leaks in engine head from washer only, so i talked to my preferred local mechanic and told he would do the job. He opened the engine head and cleaned the washer and gasket with petrol without leaving any residue and fixed the gasket and head cover washer with a sealant and till now i have no leaks where im still running with r9000 and covered 2.8k kms.Originally posted by Shashank K R View Post
