Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Your bike is consuming engine oil. Get it checked by svc.Originally posted by Angurj View PostHi guys,
When the first time I changed to Motul 7100, I came across oil leakage at the eha6d gasket and alternator cable area. Used gasket maker and sealed it. The oil lasted only 3000 kms because I sealed the leakage at after 2000 kms only. Then changed to shell advance ax7 while replacing head gasket, no leakage or low oil levela for 3000 kms. Then used 7100 again, got leaking problems again (asked the service guy to use some gasket maker while changing head gasket and he did it well, still oil leaked).. This time I again used anabond gasket maker and the sealing was well. The oil lasted only 2.7k kms (the reason is I miss to tighten the oil cover well, there was a seepage near the bottom bolt). Then again I changed to 7100 10w50 (all the grades used before were 10w40). How crossed 1.7k kms, oil is now at 'L' mark. No white smoke observed, checked every nook and corner for leakage, non found, I'm sure. What could be the reason for such oil emptying issue????

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
You have carburetor or FI version ?Originally posted by VXR View PostHi, my Gixxer while cruising on the highway around 5-6k RMP is having suddenly power cut off (feels like engine is not getting any fuel). I feel like the engine is getting stressed during acceleration.
Secondly the FE have gone down to 33kmpl, in my entire ownership it never went South of 40kmpl.
Do anyone know what might be the culprit here. Is the problem due to carb or ECU?

Thank you for telling me in details.Originally posted by Ashwiin Napster View PostCheck the tyre pressure and keep the pressure as per company recommended values.
Get your chain cleaned and lubed and carry chain cleaner and lube with you on the road-trip.
Keep a puncture repair kit handy, just in case and learn how to patch a puncture.
Fill up the night before riding and you can save some time by straight away heading out on the highway.
On the highway, always fill up from reputed bunks, try filling up from a COCO bunk if you can.
Don't go too hard on the curves, take it easy. Don't go all out on highways, keep a watch on cattle and pedestrian crossing.
And most importantly, keep your body cool, hydrated and active while riding. Avoid riding in night. Happy touring!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
For starters, check the rear wheel bearings (there are 2) and the sprocket bearing for play. The swingarm collar/bush and needle bearings should be checked too. At this time of 'checking', re-grease all bearings especially the swingarm bush/needle. If any of them are worn, replace. Both the axle and swingarm nuts should be tight.Originally posted by Johnty View PostRecently my dual disc gixxer (2017) is having some problems with the rear wheel. It seems to wobble slightly at speeds above 70kmph. I took it to suzuki service but they said its non existent.
No general answer. It depends on the type of use. Bikes used exclusively in the stop-and-go city traffic will wear out their discs early. Bikes used for lazy highway runs will even log a lakh kilometers before the disc needs replacement. To find out whether the disc needs a replacement, one has to find the thickness of the disc at several places in the brake pad contact area. If this is less than the number (e.g., 3.5 mm) stamped on the disc, replace.Originally posted by Johnty View PostAlso, can you guys tell me how much the rear disc-plate runs before giving up?Last edited by ashwanth.r; 09-30-2019, 05:51 PM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hello fellow gixxer owners,
Recently my dual disc gixxer (2017) is having some problems with the rear wheel. It seems to wobble slightly at speeds above 70kmph. I took it to suzuki service but they said its non existent. It is very light so probably they cant fix it. Can you guys help me in what should I get checked to be sure of this issue. Also, can you guys tell me how much the rear disc-plate runs before giving up?
Also, I am thinking of going on a road trip. It would be about 600KM. Can you guys tell me what are things that I should check before the trip and what are the things I should keep in mind.
Thank You.
