Congrats for the new motorcycle. I also transitioned from Unicorn to Gixxer and I miss Unicorn very much esp after starting family. Do post a comparison after munching some miles.

Hi to all
I purchased a suzuki gixer sf motorbike that was damaged by its slide shields, and in order to fix it, I have to know the exact gender used in it, but I do not know what material in the slides of this motorcycle is used from the engineering plastic branch.

----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

I mean, what kind of materials from the plastic engineering branch have been used to make slides for this motorcycle?

Hi Guys!!

I brought in a gixxer 4 months back. Have done 2,500 kms so far. Got my second service done at Meghdoot Suzuki, hennur road, Bangalore last Saturday(9th Mar 2019). While the service of the engine looks ok, the brakes have not been as responsive as before. When i took it back to the service centre, they say its nothing to worry about, as the abs is cleaned with diesel and this could problem could be there for 30-40 kms. Is this ok?

Last service, they replace clutch handle and number plate which i never asked for. I was already frustrated with their service that i told them to remove them or refund me the amount. The manager(i am guessing), told me that refund is not possible since bill is generated and said he will reduce it in from the bill next time.

2 months later, on 2st March 2019, i am at the place for my next service. I told him before giving itself about refund. When i went to collect the bike in the evening, i didnt see any deductions and i asked him. He said he reduced the price for 'Rear brake caliper' and 'Clutch Overhaul'. I had my doubts but i couldnt do anything then.

I came home. Checked my older bills and found that last service(the first attached image) also i was charged for 'Rear brake caliper assy' and it was the same price!!There was no change. I am not sure how much the 'overhaul' costs as i dont have any bill with that.

Can someone let me know if the price is as in the attached images? If so, i know i was not given any refund.

Also, these folks always messes up the chain every time i give it for service. It starts making this crackling sound the very next day onwards. My friend told me because the loose and tight end is not set properly. The sound is pretty loud and its sad to hear it while i drive bike around. I had to always give my bike a second time for last 3 services because of chain alone. I am wasting my time and energy on this. I want to go to their manager will whatever info i have and get this sorted out for good. I also wanted to mail suzuki head/support with this.

I have been maintaing my bike well for 2+ years. I always accept what the service folks says to ensure my bike runs smoothly as ever. Now i am just frustrated. Can you also guide me on how best to go about this? How can icomplaint so they take care of my bike next? How can i be sure service was done well since next time? Is there a checklist?

FYI-I had created a thread but i guess it is not approved. If it is, ill share the thread link here for future reference

Update 3/6/2019:
So i raised an enquiry request from site to Maya Suzuki branch, Adyar asking for price of few specific things. Mainly the overhaul. I got the price and as expected there was no deduction. Suprisingly, for one, the price i was asked to pay was more. See the details in the image below. On the right is the price i got for the part code

https://ibb.co/TKYPFzs

Part code - Price
MK03H0 -126
GA03R0 -216
DC01R0 -108
MK09H0-108

Update 2:
A service guy came to sort out the chain issue. When he came, the chain was dry. He thought I haven't tightened or lubed the chain for a long time and told me to do it every 1000kms. As expected, he was surprised when I told him I gave for service 3 days back only. I also told him I clean and lube every 300kms.

I confronted the manager over call on this. I asked him by they charged me 47₹ for chain lube when it was not done. He told me grease was applied and it dries up. I asked him why would you put something that dries up in two days and then mention in bill it is lube and charge so much.*

I asked him then why do the service guys state they use motul lube and that the mechanic used 3M. He was like we use 3M motul. They are two different companies!! !*

Really disheartening this entire episode has been.*

I bought tank cover from Athvith for 250 Rs, the ropes came off on the same day

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155

Can anyone recommend me a good pair of tires for Suzuki gixxer 155 (2015 bought)? Currently, I am using the stock tire in the front, which has developed some scary looking cracks and in the rear I have Metzler 150/60 tires (though the recommended size is 140/60). It's time for me to change both. I am looking for tires with good wet and dry performance and good lifespan. Please suggest.
Thanks!

Yes. Higher the RPM, more will be the fuel consumed. You want to keep it between 1250 to 1500. It's hard to see the exact reading on a digital console in all. Using the choke in idle brings it to 3.5k RPM.

It was my first experience of seat mod.

For six months i had this kind of foam.
Its very light, spongy, and looses its shape after 15 mins. Spent Rs. 400 for this solution

Me and my friends ride with this spongy seat:-
this sponge top costs 400? i need to find something like this in Chennai. The stock seat makes it hard to ride even 50kms without break ><

Theres a Front Brake Assembly overhaul done in the 2nd bill. I presume this was done to bleed and top up the brake fluid. Did you ask them to do this?

Suzuki SVCs are authorized to ONLY use MOTUL Chain Cleaner and Lubricant. THIS is what they probably used

Dude if I were you, I would have called the Cops and shut down that SVC and stuck an Iron Rod up that SVC Manager's Arse.
Yea it looked a lot like the one in the picture. I use motul so I know how it looks and what he used is not motul at all.

And I was planning on printing your list and write down is reply for sure. I am definitely gonna do it.

In the bill dated: 8-12-2018

1. Why was Rear Brake Caliper Assembly OverHaul done? Your bike doesnt have a Rear Brake Caliper. Its a DRUM BRAKE.
2. What was the "Drive Chain" job that costed 72INR? You were ALREADY charged for Chain Cleaning and Lubing.
3. Why did they charge you for Clutch Lever Assembly? I suspect they did this just for replacing the Lever which is malpractice. So you got charged 126+37.71+Tax unnecessarily. The cost of the lever itself is just 38INR, they robbed you for an additional 126INR
4. What was the Rear Brake shoe and/or spring Job that costed you 90INR? Cleaning the drum and the brake shoes are part of general service. Did you get something replaced?
5. You have 3 "OTHER" jobs listed in there. 2 of them have the same code but different costs (DB9999 - 80INR and 100INR). The 3rd job with code LG9999 costs 250INR. What are these OTHER jobs? Did you verify?

In the bill dated: 2-3-2019

1. They once again charged you for Rear Brake Caliper Assembly, Drive Chain and "OTHER"
2. Theres a Job done for Carb Assembly, I am assuming Carb Cleaning was done? Verify this for me
3. What the Heck was done in the Clutch Overhaul(All Parts)? Was any part replaced because I dont see any Clutch parts mentioned in that bill?

The guidelines are CLEAR for SVCs. They cannot replace or change any part in your bike without your authorization.
I am definitely going to ask this tomorrow. I have also uodated the original post

This gentleman had uploaded the work vs. labor rates in Suzuki SVCs. It is 140/- for clutch overhaul in GS150R (2017). Gixxer should be more or less near.

They charged you 216/- for clutch OH. Ask them to show you the current labor rate vs work for Gixxer or you can find such a board near the waiting room. There is no way he reduced it, no way he recovered that 156+36 for you. And as you rightly pointed out, rear caliper OH is billed the same at 108/- for both the services. There is also no way to know whether they *actually* performed the clutch and caliper OH unless you stood near your vehicle. Interestingly, clutch cover gasket was never replaced - this usually tears on opening the cover.

2. Clutch handle and number plate - they might have bent them and hence replaced. Did you ask them 'why' ?

3. Don't waste your time confronting them. Complain to Suzuki first as Motoblizzard said.

4. If it is possible, try to find a knowledgeable and honest local mech in your area, difficult but that's better than giving it to the Suzuki SVC.
I will go and ask the 'work vs labor' charge this weekend. I will see how they respond. I will definitely be complaining to Suzuki.
It's sad that this is happening. I do everything to make sure bike is in good condition externally because that is what I know. I then trust these folks to maintain the rest and even pay them and yet they misuse the trust.

I have updated the original post with new info and price. I was not given refund. Gonna raise a complaint now
