Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Unless Suzuki has learned from its customer base and servicing schedule and complaints, it should be rectified. If not, you can experience this leak, and a fix is as easy.Originally posted by Bismaya View PostIs the issue still persistent on the new Suzuki bikes?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Poor engineering by Suzuki. The easy solution is an easy DIY. Here you go.Originally posted by Angurj View PostMy friend (who is not a xbhpian) never spotted a leak of oil anywhere (especially in that stator wire exit area) within the warranty period. He's out of warranty long ago, changed oil DIY, now the same leakage issue everybody facing occurs. Any specific reason?

Yes use a Gasket Maker to seal off the rubber grommet and the adjacent wall between the magneto cover and crankcase shell.Originally posted by Angurj View PostIs there any proven permanent fix?

He is now pissed [emoji848][emoji848]Originally posted by Angurj View PostMy friend (who is not a xbhpian) never spotted a leak of oil anywhere (especially in that stator wire exit area) within the warranty period. By engine leaks, the most prominent leak is on the left side where the stator wire exits out of the magneto cover. It's bizzare how Suzuki has managed to oversee this issue, with almost every Gixxer out there leaving a weep mark after riding the bike a little harder. There are cheap fix by applying sealants and they work. But other than that, some leaks are present on different Gixxers and some hold up. But most weep.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Yeah even the SVC guy told me that its rare that a gixxie wont have this leak. Less that 10% of the gixxers they get for service does not have this fault. So with the extended warranty its a relief that if something was to go wrong atleast it would be covered under that. But the question is that whether it is recurring problem. So even after getting it fixed once, are there chances of this happening again?Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostUnfortunately yes. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Good question. So once you have your bike serviced from an authorised SVC, you get the oil changed to an oil of your liking from outside after a few hundred kilometres (agreed that this is an expensive proposition). Then you run that oil till your next service. Which, when it is due you will get it done again from the authorised SVC. So all coupons are filled and at the same time you are running an oil of your choice without voiding the warranty.Originally posted by Angurj View PostWon't they find (atleast get suspicious) when finding the nth service coupon is not filled and both the days and kms are exceeded for that particular service period?

Your plan is good, except 5100 is unnecessary. Theres no point in using an SS. You can go directly from Mineral to FS. Besides 5100 does not come in 10w40 iirc

The warranty stuff is a grey area, but like I said you can dupe them but it will require some DIY or help from local mechanic.
The engine oil leak is not a horror story its just a irritating one. It doesnt really effect anything. A video will be coming up soon on that matter.

The SVC guy said that I am going to void my warranty by doing that. So since then i planned to stick to ECSTAR. I have the 5 year extended warranty cover as i have heard horror stories regarding the gixxer engine oil leak and i dont want to void the warranty in anyway.
