Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
It may be because of the new engine. Takes some time for the piston and rings to set in and build clearance. When you start the bike, go easy on the throttle for the first 1km. I have ridden my friend's Gixxer SF. He lets the bike idle for a atleast two minutes before riding. Helps to properly warm up the bike. I suggest you do that before shifting gears. Also, never leave the bike idle on choke.Originally posted by djcena View Posti am feeling, loss of power(it's not running as earlier) into 1st and 2nd gear.
bike rides well after initial discomfort..
what shall i do... mech says it is because of new piston....pls help

Do the breaking-in as if it is a new engine for the next 800 kms, then change oil (to mineral) and filter. Repeat the break-in (varying of rpm and not crossing limits) for another 800 kms (total 1600 kms). You are done. Change to whatever oil you fantasize and treat it normally.
The owner's manual will tell you what are the rpm limits for the first 800 and next 800 kms.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I think you should be going for small rear sprocket for better top end. Bigger rear sprocket reduces top speed and increases acceleration.Originally posted by saorabbh View PostHi,
Where can I find/source aftermarket sprocket/chain kit for Gixxer 155?
As the stock rear have 45 teeth, I am looking for 46 or more for better top end for highway use.
TIA

Hello everyone, yesterday I bought the chain-sprocket kit for the Gixxer just as an extra backup spare. I'm posting this for your reference.
Gixxer and Gixxer SF share the same chain-sprocket kit. Actually, there is no kit for the Gixxer as the three components come seperately.
Chain Assembly -> ( Part. No 27600-30H40-132 ) ( Rs. 576 ) ( R428, Non O-Ring, 132 Links )
Drive Sprocket -> ( Part. No 27511-30H10-000 ) ( Rs. 311 ) ( aka Front/Engine Sprocket ) ( 15 Teeth )
Driven Sprocket -> ( Part. No 64511-34J10-000 ) ( Rs. 399 ) ( aka Rear Sprocket ) ( 45 Teeth )
Total Cost -> Rs. 1286/-.
This is a cheaper alternative to the front sprocket from Bajaj which costs 93 instead of 311 for the stock Suzuki.

Cheers!

This thread should help. According to this thread, 4Ah also is a direct fit to the battery cage of the Gixxer 155 and helps provide good voltage.

Don't go for OSRAM 35/35 Silverstar, they don't last long, plus are Made in China. Get yourself the Philips Blue Vision they are decent and have slightly higher beam throw.
Cheers!
