I checked voltages and manually wanted to jump a wire to force a connection too. And that didn't work either. Any other solution?

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Good idea. Just tried this out. Opened up the indicator housing and used my multimeter to check. The switch is working fine. It is completing the circuit as it should on the left and the right side. But still, the right side refuses to show on the console and refuses to light up the indicator LEDs.Originally posted by kany1991 View Post

Spray some wd40 on indicator switchOriginally posted by anirudhchandrashekar View PostWierd issue on my 2015 RC390.
Everything was working fine but the right indicators have stopped working. The lights don't flash and it doesn't show in the console either. What could be the issue?
But as soon as I hit the left indicator, the lights work fine and the turn indicator shows up on the console. Everything else works fine (Horn, other lights etc..)
Since I consider the indicator to be a very important part of my riding, I would really appreciate if you could help me!

Thanks DEAR [emoji8][emoji106]✌️Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostThe keycode card is the reason they give you in case you lose the key. It can be given at a KTM SVC and they will give you a new key, though I am not sure about the cost involved. Or you can take it to a key shop and they'll make you an EXACT KTM HEADSTOCK KEY as the stock, for a few hundred bucks, if that's okay for you. Use the duplicate key as your primary, and keep the original safe.

Thanks dear for your reply [emoji8] .Originally posted by s1d View Postsome svc will not even know what to do with the key code card. they will simply take the spare key from you and get one made from a local key maker and charge you twice the amount.
instead simply take the spare key to a local key maker and get a new one cut, it will cost you around Rs.100~150.. I had a few keys made a couple of months ago. One thing is, try not to take the bike with you.. just take the key and get it cut (they use machines and it is pretty accurate), i say this because I am not comfortable someone knowing the bike to which the key belongs
these keys don't have an immobilizer/sensor etc.. so its a pretty straightforward mechanical key cutting.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Hey all.
Made the switch from my Pulsar 200NS to a 2015 RC390 which has very low miles on the ODO and in great shape.
Just wanted to ask fellow members about the rear brake light sensor which is present behind the brake lever. One of the wires just snapped on it and I have done a soldering (jugaad) and all works fine. But I would like to replace it and I was wondering about the cost as well.
The previous owner also had a small fall on the bike a couple of years ago. Tiny scratches on the front brake reservoir and the pegs.
The bike has been rigorously checked and it is dead straight and there is no bending of fork or whatever. But there is a tiny nag. The clutch lever ever so slightly touches the windscreen if the handle is pushed to the extreme right. I am assuming it is a bent connecting rod on the clip ons?
Will share photos of it soon but I would appreciate your views on the brake sensor and the clutch-visor clearance.
Regards,
Anirudh

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
The battery used in the KTM series is a sealed VRLA batteries. You can try out these batteries, which are the stock ratingOriginally posted by incipient View PostMy battery died today after a couple days of warning. I can't seem to find one in the nearby stores where i live, so i am getting it online.
What type of battery exactly is in the RC390?
SF Sonic MK1440-TZ9 (8 Ah)
Exide FXL0-XLTZ9 (8 Ah)
Amaron AP-BTZ9R (8 Ah)
All are direct fit to the Duke series.
Cheers!

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
If you have the opportunity to sit with them and observe what's going on, that's well and good. Secondly, yes your mechanic is right, it's almost a day's worth job, so 2 days is the right ballpark, as the entire engine has to be stripped apart. Take your time, get if fixed instead of getting it patched.Originally posted by QuadrupleagentZ View PostCould bring down the labor cost but the cost isn’t an issue, it’s just the performance( pampered this bike too much and it’s one of the most smoothest 390s here in the city) will definitely replace the case but the svc already has 12 bikes with engine work and they said me to wait for 2-3 weeks. Have some exams in London and would return in October and will give the bike then after ordering all the parts that need to be changed including new seals and bearings. There aren’t any big dealers here in lko that can fix this or have the experience to fix this as ktm spares aren’t available outside the svc. Head mechanic said it’s a 2 day job and would sit with him and see his work accordingly (already have the repair manual with me).
Good luck.
Cheers!

You can purchase the part and get it installed outside who deals with multi-brand bikes, it's way cheaper that way. Secondly, the new case won't rob power as such, we're only replacing the case, not the cylinder/piston. The key here is a good job; meaning all the parts installed the right way and with the right torque.
I'd strongly recommend replacing the casing as opposed to JB Weld.
Keep your observations posted.

I’ll try that and if that doesn’t work then it’s off to get the case replaced
Went to the SVC, the right side case costs rupees 5117, talked to the head mechanic (he knows me pretty well) he said the labor would be around 5000 and I should keep an estimate of around 14,000 [emoji28].

Will the bike feel the same after replacing the crankcase if I replace all the bearings and stuff shown on the above page and done by a good mechanic or will the power decrease like what happens to the other bikes when the engine opens
2. Can it be done without touching the left side of the crankcase?
