Just came home... Riding in the rain.. Must say, amazing stability and braking and grips.. The breaks were pretty good.. Especially the front, it showed no signs of being lazy.. Overtook a couple of trucks on the secunderabad flyovers.. The flyovers are pretty narrow and my bike exactly fit the gap.. The water sprinkling from the tyres of the trucks.. It was rock stable and solid.. Completely solid.. She didn't even twitch a little.. I was a bit nervous tho but wanted to know what the bike can handle and took the risk.. She's a beauty.. The tyres are grippy... Now I'm wondering how Metz would be.. Went through some water that was high till the foot pegs.. Didn't cause any trouble.. She was like normal day and nothing happened.. Here's the surprise part..

On a normal day back home, my average speed will be 48-49 today it was raining and I decided to go very slow.. The average speed was 39 and I managed to hit 100 on the normal road where I usually hit 100-110.. Was able to hit high speeds despite the rain and she was stable.. Now I'm in love with her all over again.. [emoji7]

So i have begun my 2000km journey and travelled from indore to ahemadabad. For whole of the MP i rode on 2 lane back roads which were on very good condition so the speeds around them were always around 90-100. Started riding at 4 am so that i could beat the heat. Once i entered gujarat it was all a highway affair and therefore my bike never saw speeds below 100 and almost rode all the time at 115kmph.
The bike ran fine all the time and never felt weak for a single moment. And keeping up with the spirit of the bike my body also never gave up. This thing is surprisingly an amazing mile muncher. So i took a total of 7 hours to complete 480kms and an exact 6 hours in riding time equating to an average speed of 80kmph.
Then the biggest moment of glory was when i went to the truimph's showroom to ride the street triple and once i rode it and came back to my beauty, there was not even a single moment of regret or dissatisfaction and that is when i truly realised what an amazing thing this little motorcycle is and how important a part it has become of my life!
Will keep you guys updated with the rest of the journey!
P.s. these gujaratis really know how to make good roads!

Wow.. nice man.. this is interesting to read.. please keep writing more.. I think that making a journal or a dairy here in xbhp will be better mate.. ride safe.. but be careful and plan well with weather information.. monsoon is closing in.. and it's raining here in the south, I don't think it will take much time till it reaches you..

Washed and lubed my bike yesterday.. 4 hours.. Learnt a lot.. Thanks [MENTION=16602]s1d[/MENTION] for being with me and guiding me..

So, what was like this..

Is now like this..



I used kerosene to clean all the oil.. Do not use any scrubber like Scotch brite or something to clean the wheels, it damaged the paint job.. The best will be :

- Using kerosene clean the rims and oily parts..

- Clean the chain

- Wash the bike with shampoo

- apply lube (I used SAE 90 - HP EP90 gear oil)

- wipe off excess oil

And you at good to go....

I used two car jacks on either side by bolting an industrial bolt into the swingarm and used two car jacks to life the bike from either side.. Have to be careful since the bike can tilt till its set..



I did not have a oil can/dispenser.. Made this and worked like a charm.. Oil was coming drop by drop like saline and slowly.. Was able to use one drop per link in a chain..



Consumables:

- old bottle
- refill from a jel pen..

The refill was a bit thick.. So it didn't break and the hole on the bottle cap didn't give way for oil to leak out..

This is another idea by [MENTION=16602]s1d[/MENTION] :



Its a medical syringe.. Works like an alternative for the oil Despenser/can..

For brush, I used a grunge brush that comes like a "C" covering three sides and then opened the smaller sprocket at the engine, cleaned out the dirt from there.. That grunge brush worked wonders..


Now I have to learn to adjust chain slack.. [emoji1]

A bike is as good a tourer as the rider can dare! And though the riding position looks dedicated, if the roads are good, you will have no trouble in travelling to any place however far it might be!

So an interesting thing happened yesterday! My cousin dropped my bike while manoeuvring it around the parking and the clutch lever broke and gear lever was bent! I took the bike to ahemadabad ktm service centre and he mended the gear lever and replaced the clutch lever but the lever wasnt new and he raplaced it with a used lever but the lever had no issues like scratches etc and didn't charge me a single dime!!! If this would have happened in indore i am pretty sure my dealer would have charged me at least 1000 for this job!

You seem to have just got the RS200 and you're already looking to upgrade to the RC390 ?
If you're actually drooling over the KTM RC (now that you've committed to RS200) then why go for RC390 ? Instead, go for RC200. It's not about the extra money, RC390 is not as good and sorted out as RC200... which has usable power, can be ridden everyday, has the performance to entertain an old 200NS owner like me. Wouldn't put a hole in your pocket once in awhile like the 390. I had the option of going for RC390 but I declined because it's not a bike you wanna be with on everyday basis, in city mostly. More like a weekend fun sort of bike.

If you're actually drooling over the KTM RC (now that you've committed to RS200) then why go for RC390 ? Instead, go for RC200. It's not about the extra money, RC390 is not as good and sorted out as RC200... which has usable power, can be ridden everyday, has the performance to entertain an old 200NS owner like me. Wouldn't put a hole in your pocket once in awhile like the 390. I had the option of going for RC390 but I declined because it's not a bike you wanna be with on everyday basis, in city mostly. Your last statement sums up the exact emotion I had after test riding the RC390. It is an amazing bike, but would be difficult to ride in the excruciating traffic I face everyday.

I think "upgrade" is not the right word I should have used, what I actually meant was buying RC 390 + keeping RS200. In a perfect world, RS to be used for daily use and RC390 for getting the weekend thrill. But this before considering the most important factor: Money. I hope suddenly my company announce a huuuge bonus and I am left with a chunk of cash to spend... I also hope my wife does not read this or I will need to arrange for my dinner somewhere outside.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to raise the handlebars of the rc? I luv riding the bike, but I feel a little raised handlebar wud make it much more comfortable in the city... So is that possible.... ?? Plz pardon if the qstn sounds silly... I am no expert
