Anyone bought a Paddock Stand for your bike? Ajay has mentioned in the OP that Paddock Stand costs 7000/- from KTM, but when I inquired they said it's 2800/- for the standard one and 3600/- for the adjustable one.
The funny part is I asked the store manager whether is it possible to use the paddock stand by myself without the help of others. He thought I going to make a purchase right away and said "YES" (very confidently). But I had my doubtful stare at him, then he asked one of his guys to bring a Paddock. There were a couple of 200 Dukes lined up, so he started a demo. The fellow who brought the paddock tried to hold the duke, but the manager asked him to step aside to show me how to do it without anyone's help.
First Attempt: Placed the Paddock on the right swing arm, but he failed to notice the placement of left side. He started to put pressure on the paddock to lift the bike, eventually it slipped and the bike was about the fall. Luckily side stand was open, so it somehow managed without a fall. Everyone was shocked including me, because that is a brand new bike and it was about to fall on the other bikes lined up next to it. Then he said, it's his mistake that he didn't notice the placement properly and strongly advised me to keep the bike on side stand before placing the bike on Paddock as it will save from fall if something like this happens.
Second Attempt: He carefully noticed both the placement and tried, again it slipped
. I already said myself a big NO for Paddock and one man show. Then he inspected the paddock and said this model is for 390 series and not for 200. WTF!!. I asked him doesn't the width same for both 200 and 390? He said, no since 390 comes with Metzelers, they are 3-5 mm wider than 200. I made a doubtful nod. He took that paddock inside and checked, all of them were in similar size. Third Attempt: He brought back the same paddock and said this is a single piece frame without any welds or joints, so you can expand or compress the tube/frame with just a press. He place the paddock sideways and pressured over it to compress a little. Now that's a perfect fit on both left and right side of the swing arm. However, he and his assistants were not ready to take chances so they hold the bike while he put it in paddock. Finally it gets locked! Now, he said that it's simple isn't it? Yeah!!
. I told him I will come back when I take the delivery of bike and left the place, came out and laughed like hell, we have been controlling our laugh all this time.
