Today I went to the Guwahati ktm showroom and enquired about the new rc 200. They have said that it's not for India. If it was to launch in India, they would have atleast got an email from ktm.
And I think the ex showroom price is also the highest in Guwahati. They quoted Rs 1,76,511. But i am confused about the price for the insurance, they have said it is around Rs 6000 and i dont think its even zero dep. I think it is quite high for it. Can someone please help me understand the insurance thing?

Oh and i have checked the 2016 rc 200 at the showroom and it really doesn't have the light switch. But couldn't confirm about all the updates because even the sales lady which was present didn't have any idea about the new specs, so couldn't confirm the other upgrades. I couldn't believe they couldn't provide any details about the new updates.

i dont think it will launch cause even RC125 nd Duke125 manufactured in India are not meant for the local roads.

Even I enquired regarding ABS option which is not present is 2016RC confirmed by showroom. Best bet is to wait till mid-year then go for watever available..:P

No he is trying to sell you accessories inside the insurance. Itnhardly costs 2-3k.ask him for a breakup and also the ex showroom price of the bike

Update - it costs 1.66 lakhs.
        Search for a different showroom

Some people, after coming to know about the RC 200 price, this is what they say - "For this much amount, you could have had purchased a car".
So 125CC Supersport will never be ideal for Indians because of the premium price tag they carry.

Thanks xplod566. But unfortunately there is only one showroom in guwahati. The customer service is not so pleasing. When i asked them to break the the quoted on road price (which is 1,93,000),they literally told me that i will come to know during the payment. At last i myself had to ask them about the insurance and registration extra individually.
Can I buy the insurance from outside the showroom? And how can I know if the ex showroom price is correct and is not inflated? This is my first buying experience, so I don't have much knowledge about it.

No, even I checked the KTM showroom today as I am also planning to buy the RC 200. But unfortunately the showroom guy said that it's not going to be available for Indian roads. Even we won't get any ABS on the RC 200.

I am planning to buy the bike in Pune in a month or two and move to Guwahati after 1.5 years after I complete my studies.
The On road price is 184500 in Pune. I think the ex-showroom price is high in Assam because taxes for bike are one of the lowest there.

And I thought only guwahati has the highest prices. But here the on road price is inflated though. It should be around 10,000 including registration and insurance etc.

hi 200 owners am confused as hell between RC200 nd 390.

390 more bang for bucks - ABS (main reason)

But my worry is FE and Maint. cost like for say Metz gettin worn out soon

Will it be ok(budget frndly) for daily ride of 20-25km (up+dwn) on weekdays? or shud I settle with 200 Please suggest

                            Thanks

If the place where you stay, the traffic is always there then it might be a problem.it heats a lot and also mileage is very less, normal city riding without traffic yields around 20.
On 200 you can get Almost 35.meaning less visit to fuel station, also less heat meaning better and longer rides without compromising comfort
Also RC 200 has a very refined engine

It depends on what type of biker you are. If you want to go really really fast then go for 390 if okayish fast will also do your job then go for 200. If you are worried about the tyres, you can get them replaced with something that lasts more like the mrfs as soon as you get the delivery of the 390. Other costs are almost similar for both the bikes. I think fuel efficiency should not be your criteria in buying a bike because in that case nothing beats the discover 100.
