Well, the RC pillion isn't that bad actually if you know "how to sit" - [ATTACH]227700[/ATTACH]

The hands should be on the tank when braking. Normally don't put the whole body weight on the tank, your arms will pain and the hands shouldn't be straight and elbows locked. NO!! The elbows should have a little bend to allow some "suspension" for vibrations and for god's sake please don't fall on the rider!! When accelerating, the pillion can hold the waist (if it doesn't tickle the rider) or the grab rails under the seat. It's absolutely safe and fine. The RC is way underrated for the pillion seat.

You as a rider should sit normally, thighs locked on the tank, however, DON'T ever "lock" your hands straight. The elbow must have a slight bend (else your shoulders will pain along with your wrist, elbows and palms).

Distribute your body weight among your feet, core muscles and upper body.

And legs - put the "ball" (the bone just below your toe) of your toes on the foot peg and sit like that unlike the "normal" way of putting your middle sole on the foot peg.

Get a pair of traction pads for your thighs on tank. Helps big time. Trust me. Got a pair and riding got so much easier.


To the guy who said the RC feels slow after riding Dominar - The Dominar will feel "more powerful" coz it is a 35HP machine vs a 25HP machine. C'mon. Please. It's a naked street fighter (looks kind of like the Diavel - personal opinion) vs a track bike. Both different engines with different purposes with different power outputs. Well, between Dominar and the RC - go for the RC and I agree with others, you MUST have some physical endurance and "know" how to sit on a "sports motorcycle".

I was just trying to say the RC isn't that powerful. I know it's 35bhp(dominar) . But within the same price range, there are powerful ones than the RC is what i was trying to say. Incase he was afraid of the power, it isn't that powerful. - my point.

Btw Dominar and rc, if you are happy with what Dominar has to offer,
then Dominar makes more sense.
Fully faired bikes and super sport kind of ergonomics are not meant for everyone, and I would say that very small % of RC owners in India use the bike's potential completely.
If you don't use a super sport for sport riding then there is actually no use of that bike.

Yes some buy mainly because of looks and to grab eye balls.

And also, it's been almost 5.5 months since the last service. But only 3k kms. Should i get it serviced? Or can i wait for 1000 more kms?

To claim warranty in case required you have to follow regular servicing i.e. 7500kms from last service or 120 days which ever is earlier

If you don't worry about warranty then you can service after each 5000 to 7500 kms depending upon usage and riding style.

Depends on the service center.
Some service centers allow to use free service coupons even though you missed service schedule. Where as some will not allow free servicing also will reject warranty claim if you missed serving schedule.

It's all depends on service centers and your rappo with them.

Depends.
For e.g. if its the second free service that you missed, then going in now they will take the third free service coupon (i.e. you forfeit one free service)
If it's you last free service, then that will be skipped and it will taken as the first paid service.
If you are within 5 days sometimes they might accept the current service coupon but again that depends on the svc and your rapport with them.

As for the bike itself, considering your usage (approx 3k in 6 months) you can safely get it serviced once in 6 months maybe after the warranty period. During the warranty period I think it is best to stick to the recommended schedule so that you can claim warranty if needed.. it gives the svc one less reason to discredit warranty claims.

Are there any service centers in Hyderabad that are not owned by Sri VINAYAKA MOBIKES? I didn't find their service professional. And i have no idea what I'm expecting from the service. Just felt it wasn't professional enough. The Patigadda one was even worse.

You can try Varun KTM, they have a pretty good coverage. I've heard positive reviews about Varun here in Gachibowli, perhaps you can give it a try.

Well man, most of the svc's are similar. You just have to build a rapport with the mechanic/service advisor.
You can try their begumpet svc or varun motors (banjara hills, kondapur ktm). Banjara hills is a tiny outlet with only 3 bays and is always full, prior appointment in person is a must. They are a bit friendly (depends on how you chat them up ) and let you hang around during the service. I've bought and serviced my d200 over there (apart from my rapport with them, it's very close to where i live).

So what should i do to maintain good rapport?

I was chill with those people BTW. i guess that's how I got my second free service under consideration. Is this enough? Because i don't think they'd remember me the next time I visit them. There's 90% chance they won't remember me.

Just chat them up politely (about the bike/service/maintenance/weather and whatever else..), hang around during service.. a cup of tea with them (if they get chai on the floor.. which ktm banjara does and they always offer me the chai n samosa) and finally some thank yous, handshakes and a tip!
I visit my svc every month to get the chain cleaned/lubed (they don't charge for it, but do it using used engine oil).. I tip them 50rs every other time.
