you could simply take the broken lever (assuming its only the end that is broken, and the part that goes in to the yoke is intact) and match it at a local spares shop with the pulsar lever so that you get the right part.

    that's exactly what i did
anyways thank you very much bro

Hmm thanks. I hope it doesn't require opening of the engine?
Is it a major work? Or can be done in little time?

yes it does. engine has many parts that can be 'opened'. depending on which gasket is shot, that part needs to be opened.
valve cover, clutch or coil side cover gaskets are pretty simple to replace.. in these cases the core of the engine as i call it (i.e. head/block crank case splitting) is not touched so nothing can really go wrong other than a shoddy job that might cause the leak to reoccur. these gaskets can be replaced in less than an hour considering the rc is faired and needs some body work removed to access these areas.

if the head or base gasket is gone, then it requires a little more work and best done by an experienced svc mechanic.

these gaskets are just a seal between the two metal surfaces to prevent leaks and are made of various material like paper/cork/metal/rubber.. their reason for failure could be improper installation, wear over time due to normal use.
the valve cover gasket leak is common and is mostly negligible that one can ignore and ride. .but in your case the leaks seem very bad. you need to first identify where the leak is from and fix it accordingly. if the valve cover gasket it the culprit, replace it and ask them to use the gasket sealant along with the new gasket (using the sealant seems to be the key in arresting further premature failures.. the workshop manual also states the use of the sealant, but for some reason it wasn't present from the factory when i had my valve cover opened to replace it)

Packings can fail, just like any other things. Though quality plays an important role, heat plays an even critical role. Most gaskets are rubber and they shrink and expand due to heat and when coupled with finer quality oils, you tend to have some amount of weep, and this answer is purely for a theory sake. Practically gaskets shouldn't leak, at least on a new bike. Gaskets last a long time, and the reason gaskets are in place is to prevent the very leak that are caused by these gaskets, kind of unfortunate eh!

Quality of the materials to say the least, and aggravated more the by SVC guys who don't torque the bolt to the right values all lead to leaks, wear and what not. So, there is nothing you can do to prevent them, it's they just leak given the wrong circumstances and the only solution is to replace them. A major or minor work depends on isolating which gasket the leak is from. Valve cover gaskets are not a big deal, cylinder head and lower cylinder gaskets are a major job.

              Cheers!

Hello people, I've owned a rc 200 for past 2 years and clocked 20K kms so far.

I think it is time to change my tyres. I am a total noob coming to tyres so I've been googling a lot and finally set my eyes on pirelli diablo rosso 2. I think MRF was good too but I just wanted to tryout a new brand altogether.

I see many fellow riders using michelin pilot street and stock MRFs and some other even the infamous Metzlers.

Anyway I was going through online stores like amazon and found that the complete set of tyres cost around 9.5K.

I was pretty much happy to see it because I have allocated a budget of 10K for tyres but in reviews by the users I see some received 5 year old shelved tyres.

I've contacted some motorcycle gear shops like letsgearup in HSR layout and for Dec2015 made tyres they quoted 14K.

My concern is are shelved tyres any different from fresh ones?

I've been through tyres section in the forum but couldn't find a satisfactory answer.

Also if anyone happens to know any proper dealer please let me know.

                Thanks

Some manufacturers recommend to not use a tire older than 3-4yrs even if sufficient tread depth is present. The older the tire the more the rubber breaks down. IT also depends on how the tire was stored.

You can try Pirelli Angel GT, they are very good tires and almost have the same pattern as MPSRs. Mind you, Zapper series are bias ply and the Revz are radial. Michelin, Pirelli, Metz are all radials. Now to your query, yes tire's age does matter, but it won't affect the performance significantly unless they are deformed in a certain way. As, the bhpian mentioned, the way tire is stored also comes into play. As long as tires are stored in a right manner, their life isn't compromised in a significant way. But due to aging they do degrade, but nothing significant, unless it's a 6 to 7 year old tire, 1 to 2 years is acceptable.

                    Cheers!

Thanks guys for the quick response. I will keep this stuff in mind while i get them.

The local service centre guys told me to use the stock MRFs no matter how many I ask on different occasions and that too different persons.

When I mention michelin they say tyre life is good but u won't get outright grip and wet grip isn't good. And though Metzlers are good they won't last long. Please go with MRFs sir it is what the company recommends. This is the answer I get anytime.

I might sound bit skeptical but is there a plot behind this?

Michelin's are on par with the Metz series and their wet grip is more or less satisfactory to that of Metz. MPSRs and Pirelli are a good alternative to the MRFs. MRFs do last long and offer good grip, they are perfect all rounders and do their job well. One of the reasons they are pushed for is their price, they are comparatively cheaper than MPSRs, Pirellis and Metz. And the newer Metz are H rated which in itself makes them lower in price.

All are good tires, and they're all a little different to each with respect to their grip nature and compounds and what not. It's juts a matter of price and life preference that most go after.

One thing you can do is that if you use a backpack than hang it in the front of the chest and put most of your chest on the backpack. I have been doing this for quite som time now and it has made enormous difference to the amount of fatigue my hands go through!
