• fuel capacity of each bar in gauge of RS200

Hi XBHPians,

May I know the how much fuel one fuel bar holds in Bajaj Pulsar RS200 ?
As per my observation, almost 1.6 liters/ bar based on simple calculation divide 13.5 liters(tank capacity) by 8(fuel bars).

But some of riders are saying that fuel capacity of each bar depends on fuel level... means when it's a full tank then top bars will hold more fuel than the lower bars.(as per their observation, no calculation)

One more response I got, that reserved fuel isn't showed on fuel gauge so only for 10 liters 8 bars are given.

So totally confused... which one to believe ?

You can rely on fuel gauge only to some extent..
To answer simply, your simple calculation of 1.6ltrs/bar is not correct..

I have been the owner of RS from 2.5 years I can say with confidence that last 3 bars will hold upto 3.5 ltrs of fuel which is your key to fill. As an FI bike, RS should always have minimum of 2.5-3ltrs of fuel.

Best method to gauge your fuel is by KM reading with your knowledge of FE. On highways I ride for about 340kms and in cities I ride for about 320kms without worry..

It's time to replace Battery in my RS200 as it has been 2.5 years since purchase and is dead now.

Can you folks suggest what is the best battery make and model for RS200 that I should go for?

I am from Pune, so suggestions about dealers also will help.

Thanks,
Bhargav.

Thanks Bhargav for your reply... and regarding your battery, I think the one you used for 2.5 years should go again for same brand, because only good product can go for that long, else it would have stopped within an year. And we are having a whatsapp group of RS200 owners where members are there from all over the India and some foreigners as well, so please search for "RS Panthers - RSP" on facebook and connect with us.

The one which I was using till now is the stock battery as I did not change it since I purchased my bike. In my circle, I didnt see any rider with battery being dead in less than 3 years that made me worried.

And as per suggestions xBhp Pune, I am caught up with Amaron or Exide?

Hi guys,
I recently posted regarding my bike going into a pothole.
After the incident, my bike feels a little lower, i am guessing rear shocker issue. The SVC guys without even inspecting said, swingarm and shocker are gone. Money minded maybe.
Can someone let me know their ideal monoshocker setting? Mine is a little on the softer side right now. Will hardening it raise the bike, even a little bit?

Attach shocker's position image. Do make manual check of swingarm, side by side comparison with another rs.

From which part of engine? Check the area where it may be making sound from. Check oil levels / quality as well. If it is too much noticable, record a vid and share the link for detailed solution.

even I and the SVC mechanic can't point it out from which part of the engine the noise is rising.

And talking about the engine i am maintaining the engine from the very first, have been using motul 7100 20w50 from the first service.Keeps an eye on the oil and coolant levels every morning and even i do the valve tappet clearance every 5k kms with the help of an feeler gauge.

After maintaining it in such a good way,I don't know why my engine is making this kind of unnatural noise😥.
hotheadedbeast, will sure post a video link tomorrow. That will help u all to understand.

And yes the noise is not really an big one,the grinding like vibration can be felt in the handlebar whenever the noise arises. It was really an nightmare for me.😐

Guys help me out on the following doubts / questions

1. I cant able to reach high RPMs in top gear but in 5th gear able to reach 130kmhr & rpm lights blinking but when i switched to 6th gear rpm not going beyond 8.5K. I pushed hard on straight road but nothing happened. Recently canged air filter and petrol filter. I was able to to reach at that time before two weeks but not now? Please help me

2. I feel like my handle bar goes one side either left or right but in SVC guys told everything normal. Why is it so? When i turn in low speed handle bar turning faster beyond my control if i loose it. If i leave my hands in high speed problem not felt and handle bar works perfectly with control.

3. I am hearing chain noise near the sprocket while rev in low gears. My odo is 16K and chain sprocket is 34th mark. Please help on this issue

Thanks in advance

Hello everybody! At 28,000 km mark I finally got rid of my laziness and changed the tyres. Rear is upgraded to 140/70-17 MRF Zapper S. The stock tyre was 130/70-17 Zapper S. Thought of getting Metzeler but than since it is soft compound and I use my bike for daily commute, decided against metzeler. No other changes were done and the new tyre is compatible with the tyre hugger. Cost me Rs 3400. Will change the front tyres in a week or so but will be sticking to the stock size.

There is one interesting thing I wanted to share. Earlier with stock tyres, I used to reach speed of 80 kmph at 6000 rpm, sixth gear. Now the same rpm at the same gear gets me to about 83 kmph. Is this because of changing from 130 to 140 section or am I imagining things?

No ideas buddy! BTW, what is petrol filter? Did you mean oil filter? What other changes were made during that service?

Check for deformity of the wheel base and check if wheel alignment is in place. Are there many scratch marks at the disk plate? Did you observe any fork leakage?

There can be two reasons. If the sound is rattling type, and occurs when you release the throttle, the chain is loose. If the sound is screech type, it is wound too tight. Also check if your chain is properly lubricated and if there is rusting around the joints.

Thanks in advance

That is because of the taller gearing because of the larger tyre (increased sidewall height).

In the stock tyre(130/70), the sidewall height is 70% of 130 mm = 91 mm.
In the new tyre(140/70), the sidewall height is 70% of 140 mm = 98 mm

That extra 7 mm sidewall height is creating the taller gearing. So you'll slightly higher speeds for each gear (at each rpm you want to compare).
Technically speaking, your acceleration will be slightly less as well.

Cheers!
