I have clocked 18k Km's and have started to get that sound. The sprockets are a little worn out, I'll check with the SC guy if we can get rid of that sound by tightening the chain and if the sprockets can be further used.

And you mentioned you clean your chain in about 1500 kms; isnt that a little on the high side? I prefer cleaning and lubing at 500 kms, am I doing it very frequently?
Thanks buddy! 1500 kms is at a higher side but this is just an approx number. If the chain looks dirty, I clean it For example, during rains the interval may increase as the muck gets cleaned automatically while riding in rains. Similarly, I would clean more frequently during summer. Having said that, I am lazy and my other friends clean their chain between 500-1000 km .

Moreover, my riding is majorly on highways and maybe that's why the chain gets dry more often than dirty.

Np Man and thanks for your inputs too Yes, will surely keep you updated regarding my choice of tires. I have been thinking for a while now, and it is becoming difficult day by day for me

I'll be sharing a post as soon as I reach home regarding my recent MOD on RS and you'll then understand why it has been so difficult for me.

Can you please elaborate on the bad experience you had with the bike? And if possible the measures taken to rectify them?

It would be helpful for both the owners (if facing similar issues) and prospective buyers. Thanks.
          Let's see..

I bought the bike in May 2015, when it was just launched. Below is the gist of issues I faced. Mind you, this is just the surface of the troubles I went through:

          1. Silencer issue: After 2-3 months, my bike was fallen down in the parking lot of my office from right side. Someone hit it from left side with their bike. After a few days, I started hearing that noise of my silencer has became a bit metallic like there is a metal wire is hitting the silencer. A few more days the sound became very evident.

I took it to service center and asked them to fix it. They said silencer has to be replaced and new silencer is not yet available. I said OK. Had to live with the shitty silencer noise for next 3 months. After 3 months, they again said it is not available. I was furious but obviously it being bajaj everything was useless. After living with sound for over a year and many threats, finally they said they will fix it. It just took a 5 minute welding to fix the noise.

          2. Wiring issue: After a year(July 16), the bike was standing I was left the office and went where the bike was parked. Entered the key and started the bike, but it did not start. After a few attempts I realised that the FI noise when we start the ignition is not there at all. So I had to leave the bike and go home. Came to office next day (It was Sunday) with friend. We looked a few places for repair but nobody was taking a FI bike for repair. Found 1 mechanic who came to office and told that there are rats here who might have eaten the wiring. He took the bike to garage. After 4 hours of trying, he was unable to resolve it. Thankfully, there was a Bajaj service center, just around the corner. We went there and asked mechanic to fix the bike. They said they can't do it since they don't have equipment! He said nearest service center is in at least 20km away.

Frustrated, we went back to mechanic where the bike was still there and completely open. We told him that we will come tomorrow again to pick it and will take it to service center which can fix it. We went there next day and sadly, our other bike also broke down due to clutch plate wearing while trying to push the RS. We were now in middle of road with 2 broke-down bikes. We called the mechanic and he said that let me try one last time to start the bike. He brought a electric plug(I don't remember the exact name of the equipment) which he said to be from a car he fixed. There are few of these fitted below RS' pillion seat. He replaced one of them, and voila!, bike started working. We kept the other bike with him and left for home. We directly went to Bajaj service center, explained them the issue and asked them to fix it forever. They said they'll take care of it.

A week later, the bike broke down again. We took it to service center. They kept the bike to themselves for 2 days and said it was wiring issue and now fixed.

It broke down for 3rd time. We were feeling like we have lost the battle. Finally after many threats, they said they have now really identified the issue, and have fixed it. They charged 750 for that as well. We were just happy that the bike was working again. Thankfully, this was the last time... of that issue.

          3. Battery:
Approximately 6 months ago, I was riding the bike on highway at 8PM in night, and the headlight seemed dim. Sometime later, the bike started giving me jerks and finally stopped. I left it on a roadside garage who said he will charge the battery next day and will let me know. Next day, he told us that the battery is charging but is not sustaining the charge and it might be dead. He said new battery will fix it. We asked him to install it. The bike started working fine. We took it to service center, and they said its fine now.

Next day, my brother took bike to Malshej Ghat ride. The damn bike broke down when he reached on top of ghat! He faced horror of take the bike all the way to bottom of ghat. At the base, he found 1 mechanic, and requested him to charge the battery. The battery was charged, and he left, but it again went down after 50km near kalyan. He had to push the bike for around 15~20KM. Finally KTM showroom guys helped him and charged the battery enough that he reached Bajaj service center.

They looked at the bike and fixed the issue next day saying that it was issue with battery not being charged automatically.

          4. Throttle response Issue:
The throttle response was always slightly delayed, and as expected, the bajaj service center never bothered to fix this issue even after repetitive complaints. A month back, I started feeling that the response and getting slower and slower. A week later, I started the bike, but it wouldn't unless only after a few attempts. After that, The response was throttle response was very delayed in every gear. I went a few 100 meters t and it stopped again with jerk. Same thing happened twice again. I took the bike home and left with other bike.

Next day, my brother gave bike for servicing. They said they will fix the issue. After receiving the bike, the bike stopped within 100 meters of svc. He went back and they said if the issue persists, bring it back after 2 days. I rode the bike for few kms after that, and even though it did not completely stop, the throttle response was very delayed. Took it to svc again, and this time, they said they cannot feel the issue. This was the point where we decided to sell that crap.

Not to mention there are many other issues not mentioned above which bajaj never fixed even after repetitive requests such as fairing vibrations, loose mirrors, stolen allen keys from toolkit while given for servicing etc.

We had different bajaj bike for more than 20 years but this was the point we decided to never go back to bullshit bajaj brand again. I would always suggest everyone that if you have option for buying a 200cc bajaj bike or a 150cc other brand bike for same price, go for anything else than bajaj.

Hopefully my experience helps some people who are thinking to buy this bike and helps them to take a wise decision i.e. NEVER BUY IT.

Just because you had it doesn't mean that each and every product rolling out of the factory is faulty.

Correct. But this shows what quality control measures are taken by bajaj. Also doesnt change the fact that the bajaj SVC people are pathetic and do not care about your motorcycle.

Also, Im not here to argue with anyone. If anyone has good experience with bike and SVC, thats good for you. Just wanted to share my pathetic experience I had with my bike.

I agree with you bajaj has 3rd class service . They dont bother about the bike they only know how to change engine oil and clean air filter. I own as200 and my bike was having some problem with engine . There were very much vibrations in bike that was not normal and i complained them many times to check piston block and crankshaft but they didn't listened me. After 8 months of ARGUING AND COMPLAINTS TO CUSTOMER SERVICE they checked the crankshaft and found that it was slighlty bent. Thats the bajaj service for you.

As far as I understand from photo this is the oil which must be used for oiling the parts like footpegs, etc Or is it leaking from the engine area.

                      Hello Everyone,

I have almost decided to Take Pirelli Sport Demon 140/70- 17 as my Rear Tyre.

I know Michellin Pilot Street Radial have been leading this category, because its radial and its excellent wet grip ! However, I wanted something that could even perform well in hard terrains, which has a little bandwith for off roading and provides grip, without compromising the control. Hence, now I'm little more inclined towards taking Pirelli's.

So, I just wanted to ask if anyone of you have any experiences with Pirelli Sport Demons? Any inputs/suggestions would be valuable.

Did the battery malfunction light on the instrument cluster not glow? I had a similar issue but then, the light was glowing long before battery went dead. Had I not been lazy and rush to the nearest service station, I would not have faced the troubles of pushing the bike.

It had glown, but only 2-3 minutes before the bike died, so had no chance to take any action.

That was unfortunate. The issues you faced with your bike were magnified by the incompetence of the service station people. Did you try to contact Bajaj customer care? I read in this forum that a lot of problems were solved when the owners contacted Bajaj.

What is done is done, hopefully you'll have a better time with your next bike!
