Took the bike for 2nd service and they are ready to replace the windshield but was out of stock on that particular day. Also, told them about the foot pegs vibration(creeps in while downshifting of gears and braking) but none of the mechanics (including the KTM one) knows the exact reason for this. I asked them to tighten the foot pegs but they said that they cant be tightened as they have clips in them instead of screws. Also they denied to tighten the exhaust bolts. Now only god knows how this vibration problem will be solved.

I want to know that in the 2nd service they changed the oil and oil filter and adjusted the chain slackness but after the service the foot pegs are vibrating a lot even at lower speeds and gearbox got hard and engine is heating too much even while riding in very less traffic. The bike was super smooth before the service don't know why it is happening.
Does this bike behaves like this on oil change or it has any other problem?

Oil used is stock Bajaj one and reading on odo is 2290. Guys please help me on this.
No it's not supposed to be that way. I certainly didn't experience this behavior after the 2nd service.

I would suggest changing the oil or at least getting the chain tightened/loosened.

Because of rainy season the chain is getting really dirty and due to that there are jerks and vibes. Clean and lube the chain while you're at it.

Heating is normal, it gets better with time. Hope this helps.

    Cheers!

After the service i cleaned and lubed the chain well. It is as clean as new.I clean and lube my chain every 300km. I maintain my bike well but still the bike is behaving like this dont know why. Its very sad when u maintain your bike so well and still its not upto the mark. Chain is tightened well. My bikes condition is almost new. Never speeded my bike. At svc mechanics are telling that vibrations are normal. They just behave carelessly. Everyday I hope that today my bike will be good but results are as expected.

Cant do much on this now.

        Hi All,

have anyone fixed aftermarket horns. most of my travel is in highways and at highspeeds(for me anything above 90's is highspeed ) even i cant hear my own horn. dont know the audibility of others on road. i have chosen hella trumpet twin horns(low frequency and high frequency). now the problem is where should i fix it. i could not find a place to fit in RS200. pls suggest a place where can i fit. photos of already fixed such horns are most helpful and welcome.

also i am not removing stock horn, i dont want switch to route between stock and aftermarket horns, instead i would like to use all together.
        thanks in advance.

        regards,
        Raghav SSR

Vibes are normal on stock Bajaj oil. You can try and switch to Motul 7100 which should hopefully make your ride more smoother. Don't worry too much just ride the bike normally and enjoy it's quirks. [emoji6]

I too agree the stock horn is useless on the highway, in the city though its more than enough.

There is a guy on YouTube who has fitted an aftermarket horn on his RS 200. I think you should contact him maybe he can help you.

Here is the video in question. Hope that helps.

Sometimes if you move your bike backwards, the sound will come from front chain sprocket. If the chain is loose or the wheel is misaligned, it will happen.

                Thanks
The chain is tightened well but i am not getting you on the alignment thing. Does it have anything to do with swing arm indicators?

Just make sure the chain adjusters got fixed with same number on both the sides.

In my bike, chain adjuster number is 28 on both the side.

On my bike the chain adjuster is set on 25 both the sides but the mechanic did this process in a hurry without using paddock stand. Should i visit svc again or it will be ok after sometime.

One more thing i want to ask you whether you got the right hand side footpeg vibrations problem solved or not.

Chain is not supposed to be adjusted with side stand. If you get time, ask him to adjust again.

Yes I get footpeg vibration on right side. Still no solution for that.
But I tired the following things and no magic; Oil changed to Motul 7100, removed the side mound exhaust (and fitted back- They have used locking type nut. So we cannot tight over the limit). Footpegs fitted with pins, so i haven't done anything.

I observe less vibration whenever I use rubber kind of slipper. If I find any solution, I will let you know.

Off topic: Be aware on speed breakers. My bike got hit on the speed brakers multiple times and strange noise(rattling noise) is coming from underbelly which is silencer.

Stickering does not void the warranty.

If you plan to wrap the whole bike to a different color, other than the color mentioned in the RC book.

You can be pulled by a cop for unnecessary reasons due to discrepancies in the rc book and the actual color of the bike.

Stickering on the fairings is OK, it doesn't void anything.

                            Cheers,
                            Sanjay

My review after riding 10k kms
I got my bike delivered on 31-dec-2015 and since then i rode 10K kms till date (9920kms exactly). I am mentioning the things in bullet points below that i observed.
0-500kms: The first 500 km were smooth rides with lot of rest stops and not going beyond 90kmph. Importantly first 100 kms, gear was tight as rock, braking excellent and manoeuvring was pretty good. Following 400 kms: the gear got a bit loosened if not free. Clutch acceleration got adjusted properly. Bike got tuned in a way where you get that ride feel

First service: all changeable things were changed. Oil seals engine oil, coolant topup, chain cleaning and lube, etc including filters

500-5000kms: mileage got decreased from 35kmpl to 30 kmpl. Bike can be maintained comfortably at 130kmph without stress and braking was good even at that speed. Chain gives a bit rattling sound after a long drive (say 150kms non stop). Without coolant driving is not suggested as it heats up the engine pretty bad which can effect the mileage (i sincerely dont know how but i experienced it). Front shock absorbers take the maximum brunt and i had to get that checked once for damage. (Might not happen with every bike but with my bike i observed a kind of scratching sound from shock absorbers). Headlight adjustment will be needed if you ride on gravel or kaccha roads.
Overall: till 5000 kms...depending on d way you ride your bike, the mileage gets adjusted (almost permanently and it can be increased only a little if not maximum). Caution: please make sure you ride at 110-120kmph for better mileage.

5000-10000kms: chain needs constant cleaning and lubrication. Coolant maintenance is essential. Air pressure in tires is a constant threat. I noticed in a couple of bikes that even though tires are good, the pressure still goes down. (Got to talk to service guys about this problem!). Unwanted revving and sudden accelerations during this period makes you feel as though there is an issue with the engine. Mileage for my bike currently is at 29.9kmpl.

Summary: after riding 10k kms...here is a short summary
Chain keeps making sound. Avoid by using a good lubircant
Engine feels rattled. Make sure engine oil is good.
Gear rod becomes tight as hell and getting the bike to neutral is a bit hectic (not always though. Most of the times it is easy to get to neutral but sometimes it is damn tiring).
Changing gears also becomes a bit tough even after oiling.
Accleration has to be controlled. It can cause sudden jerking of bike (my personal observation).
I dont know how others say their bike is giving 40kmpl (guess they ride at less than 7k rpm which am just guessing but constant riding at 9.5krpm/130kmph is giving me 29.9kmpl)

Thats all i can recollect now people. Hope this helps.

P.s. i stay in hyderabad and i ride every alternate weekend to kurnool (230kms from hyd). I rode to bangalore twice, almost to ooty (couldnt make it though), lepakshi, srisailam, ahobilam, bidar and vijayawada.

Took the bike at svc. I asked them to adjust the chain adjuster. Got it adjusted at same mark but the sound is still coming from the front sprocket. The mechanic said that the sound is coming due to excessive lubrication of the chain and it will be normal once the chain dries out. Is there any relation between the sound and excessive lubrication?
