Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
As i said , there is a rev limiter, but it cuts off ignition not the fuel , i guess RS is FI equipped bike so ECU must be set to cut fuel supply also , this is not possible in carb bikes hence they have ignition cut off.Originally posted by Minisoda View Post

If you have a paddock stand, try to get the bike moving in gear while the rear tire is suspended up in the air. Be very careful though this is very dangerous and can cause the bike some harm, you have been warned.
Try to reach the 130 km/h mark and see if it still gains speed. If it does, your bike is fine. If it doesn't, better show the SVC ASAP. How can one know the bike is reaching 130 km/h without the the bike actually running, as far as i know the speedo cable runs off of the front wheel.
Tell one of the mechanics to ride pillion while you demonstrate what happens to be your problem. Best of luck!
Actually the rev limiter in the RS 200 is set around 10.5-10.7K RPM (not all bikes are same). If you keep accelerating past that the bike just keeps bouncing off the limiter, there is no actual fuel cutoff (not in the lower gears at least).
Doubt that i have in bold underlinedFor mental health..

Strange issue, it must happen in other gears also at same rpm.Originally posted by Rhimm View PostHello All. I am a happy RS 200 but facing a peculiar problem. My bike engine shuts down as soon as i touch 130 kmph around the redline 9k odd rpm. Though RS does not has a speed limiter. .

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
There is a cable on the front wheel of the Non ABS version of the RS 200, which isn't present on the ABS version. I think it calculates speed with the ABS rings?Originally posted by Itzli View PostDoubt that i have in bold underlined
I don't know if the speed is calculated from the front wheel, but I saw a video where the guy rode the bike while both wheels were up in the air and the speedo was working fine. That's why I suggested this method.
I might try this myself and update you if that is the case, then this method most likely won't work. Thanks!

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Thanks guys for your insight to the problem. But i have following query
- In the reviews it is mentioned that RS does not has a speed/RPM limiter and they have clocked speed beyond 145 kmph. I myself have clocked 139 kmph earlier. The real problem is when this so called RPM limiter kicks in engine should come alive after the RPM comes down from the limit. In my case engine totally shuts down and never comes back. I have to use engine kill switch to get the engine back.
Now assuming it has the RPM limiter is present it should kick in way beyond in the redline territory not at the starting. Other RS owners please has anyone one faced rpm limiter in their bikes yet. And if yes does it kills the engine until you reset it?
Please share your thoughts.

Hi Guys,
I have seen many of them are getting rattling noise from windshield. Today morning I have got rattling noise. So I pasted double sided tape between windshield and the plastic part on both the side. The noise gone totally. I have attached the pic for reference. Try this solution it may help.

Google to know the difference between three.Hi both,Originally posted by Brezon95 View PostSynthetic oil is made synthetically and hence it is far more superior than mineral oil in terms of lubrication. Mineral oil is natural which is a result of fractional distillation of crude.
But synthetic oil does not allow proper setting in of components of the engine because it lubricates them in a very effective mannner and does not allow wear and tear.
Wear and tear is actually good for a new engine to make sure that all the components/parts inside the engine have set in completely. Thats why it is advised to run in the new engine with mineral oil. It lets wear and tear happen.
It is advised to use synthetic oils after almost completing 7-8k kms with mineral oil because in that amount of kms with mineral oil, engine sets in completely.
I went through a lot of articles on when to use a synthetic engine oil. The conclusion was to use synthetic oil after 7-8k as it doesn't promotes the wear n tear of the engine. How ever, on the other side, it is advisable to use mineral oil till 7-8k as it allows the engine to go up to its limit as it doesn't provide as much protection and lubrication when compared to a synthetic oil. So, a engine should always be run into with mineral oil and we can use synthetic oil after 7-8k. Hence, I'll be visiting the Bajaj SC tomorrow and will replace Motul to mineral oil.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
There is indeed a Rev limiter in the bike and it does not shut down engine. Only thing it does is that it cuts the fuel supply. You can try to redline the bike at lower gears to see if the same problem occurs @9k rpm. If it does not occur at lower gears' redlining, rev limiter is not the problem. The rev limiter comes into action at 10.5 k or 11k (not sure but definitely not 9k)Originally posted by Rhimm View PostThanks guys for your insight to the problem. But i have following query

One thing that can stall the bike while moving is the temperature: If the bike is overheating, the engine will be shut down till a lower temperature is achieved. Could you check this as well? This could be a case if you just came out of heavy, slow moving traffic and tried to redline just after that.Riding a bike is like flying.... All your senses are alive...
