    Hi Guys,

The maintenance of the chain is very important for our RS. But cleaning and lubing is very difficult without center stand. I guess most of us not having paddock stand for our RS. I went to KTM showroom and asked price for the paddock stand and he said 6.5K. So I decided to go DIY method. I went to welding shop and explained him what I want with the help of some pictures then he quoted less than 1K. Is it nice deal?

Another option I found is screw jack (I have a car). I have kept the screw jack below the under belly and lifted the rear wheel for 2 inches (with side stand). So if you have screw jack, you can make use of it. I have kept a cloth over the screw jack to avoid any scratch on the under belly. I hope this method will not damage the underbelly because some times the underbelly getting scratches from the speed breakers that too with more load (Pillion).

I found this method helpful so I am sharing it.

Sorry. Screw jack's surface is bit rough. So I kept the cloth above the screw jack to avoid damage to the underbelly.
I tried to justify that the underbelly is strong and can bear even if I lift the bike with the screw jack.

I too use my car jack to clean/lube the chain and have not faced any issues (atleast till date ).

              About ground clearance
I dont think it has less ground clearance,
Take a look at ninja 300, ninja 650, you ll just die,

Im telling this because i ve test ridden them n they scares you when yu cross speed breakers,

I ve ridden My RS on every kind of surface it just rides like its on asphalt,

The things i dont like are :
              Buzzing sound from meter console,
              Turning radius,
              Rear brake is too sharp,
Shain shell kind of chain adjuster,
              NO Gear indicator,
Its weight (i feel torque is less for this weight, n you only feel its torque above 6k RPM)
Access to airfilter box,(they have hidden it like a treasure)
              Zero storage capacity,
Roughness of gearbox(im hoping to get smoother in future when i change to fully synthetic oil)

Rest all i love them from whole heartedly.

Regarding the buzzing noise, it may be coming from the PCB. I have opened the meter console and applied double sided tape between PCB and plastic part. I hope you can rectify it but it will take more time. I referred to some NS 200 meter console thread and learned how to open it.

Hi Bro, the whole thread is not related to us. Find the link below.

If you want to do a very neat job, you have to remove the front fairing unit. But it will take more time. Once you remove the front fairing unit, unplug the meter console cable. If you don't want to spend more time on removing front fairing, you cannot unplug the connector and that will result in very limited clearance between PCB and plastic part. Still you can apply the double sided tape.

To remove the front fairing unit, If you need any help I will post more pics for you.

                            Hi,

AS and RS 200 both are getting thud noise and these 2 bikes have an additional frame to hold the meter console, front fairing and headlight unit. The additional frame has been fitted by using two bolts and nuts. I just imagine if these bolts are not tightened well, it would have made thud noise. Am I right?

I guess, adding some additional steel washers might help.

                            What about your views guys?

Have you ridden after fixing console, if yes do yu still ve a buzzing,
I dont think its coming from pcb, bcz the buzzing is sharp, like plastic pendulum.

First of all, I didn't have any buzzing noise. I opened the meter console for thud noise and found there was some gap between PCB and plastic part so I put the double sided tape. There are 4 to 5 screws if any one of them is loose it may lead to buzzing noise at particular RPM (My perception only). Also you need to check the gray color plastic ring which is for RPM meter. If possible could you please upload the video.
