Hey guys i am fed up of the horn now

When the byk runs about 8-10 kms and gets heated, the horn didnt work and i have to twist the accelerator like old scooters to blow the horn

I don't think it's related to heat.. might be loose connection.. Mine used to stop working if I ride for few kilometers.. got it fixed now..

Engine heating is very common. Engine heat may not create any problem to horn. Check the connectors on the horn. It is a tough job to check whether any loose connection is there or not since the horn is kept inside the fairing unit.

Yes, Even i think, It is not because the engine is getting heated up. Infact, you may have some loose connections, I faced a similar situation in my previous bike, go to the service center ask the guys to have a look at it and they will get it fixed.

ohhh ! is it so ???? Have I done something terribly wrong with replacing the mineral oil to synthetic after the first service? Isn't there any way it can be fixed , and will there be any bad consequences, m I going to regret my decision? totally confused.. plz advice

There will not be any major impact. Don't be confused. The piston ring has to get sealed properly. If it doesn't happen then there may be oil leakage from the cylinder head. Running the engine without oil or running with different grade oil only will damage the engine. Don't rev it hard. Whenever you get time just have a look at the cylinder head for oil leak. If there is no oil leakage, you are free to ride your beast.

                - In the reviews it is mentioned that RS does not has a speed/RPM limiter and they have clocked speed beyond 145 kmph. I myself have clocked 139 kmph earlier. The real problem is when this so called RPM limiter kicks in engine should come alive after the RPM comes down from the limit. In my case engine totally shuts down and never comes back. I have to use engine kill switch to get the engine back.

Now assuming it has the RPM limiter is present it should kick in way beyond in the redline territory not at the starting. Other RS owners please has anyone one faced rpm limiter in their bikes yet. And if yes does it kills the engine until you reset it?

                Please share your thoughts.
I have experienced fuel supply cut off earlier when the bike was around 1000-1500km at speeds of 124 and 136km/hr. However i was able to clock 144km/h without any fuel supply being cut off at around 2300km. I don't know how this works exactly. But this fuel supply cut off thing seems to be bad, since you may need to throttle as well depending on the traffic or roads and starting the bike again may not be an option.

Yes, Thank you Venkatesh ! Went through a lot of articles, blogs and found it isn't that big deal if you have put in synthetic engine oil after first service. However, the point you have mentioned "" The piston ring has to get sealed properly. If it doesn't happen then there may be oil leakage from the cylinder head. "" was mentioned in a lot of articles. I'll keep checking the cylinder head for any oil leak.

Strange thing happened to my bike today. I was stopped at traffic signal, turned off the bike. Then after 2 mins when signal turned green I switched on the bike and pressed ignition button but there was no response from bike. After trying for around 5-10 mins bike started. I have clocked 5700Kms and 2nd service is already done.

Have anyone else faced this problem?

But qhy this happens only when the engine gets heated up?

Otherwise the horn blows quite well and reacts crisply at each button press

After washing my bike, it failed to start. Only one time I have faced the starting trouble issue.
I don't know the exact reason.

Maybe the bike heated up too much? If the temperature of the engine goes too high the bike won't start at all till it cools down.

I have been facing this issue since 2 weeks now, the bike won't start when it heats up even a little bit. Multiple trips to the SVC have resulted in no real solution. The weather here is really hot but this is no excuse for the bike to behave weird like this.

Anyone else facing the same behavior?

Even some of the Yamaha YZF R3's owners are facing this problem. I have read it in the forum. Issue seems to be common for most of the bikes. You can check it in the below link.

It is better not to switch off the engine when the radiator is on.

Bike was not heated up. In fact this happened after driving only 1.5kms and it was early morning so I don't think weather was the issue. I will visit and discuss this with SVC guy and will let you know if he can diagnose the problem.

But yes giving excuse like hot weather is unprofessional. I think they have designed the bike as per weather across India. You can write a mail to Bajaj for the same.

I think it's important I mention that this issue has only sprung up after my dashboard was changed. I don't see any connection between the two but it is what it is. Thanks for the heads up!

I guess then it's an electrical problem. Better get it checked out. Thanks I'll mail bajaj and let them know.
