Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
I don't think it's advisable to use 7100 right away cuz it's 100% synthetic oil you should have wait till 7K-8K for 7100. Do proper run in till first servicing. After the first servicing you can gradually twist your throttle around 100kmph.Originally posted by Lone_Rider 0_o View PostHi Guys,
It feels great to be part of this community.
I have been keenly waiting to register as soon as I get my Pulsar RS 200. As I'm new to the community and a newbie rider I may ask some silly questions
. Apologies for that , but I hope I'll have a great time here with you all and learn a lot abt my bike. I have been going through this thread and have already came to.know a lot abt my bike. Since,it's launch I have been fan of this bike, totally was in love with her ! Though I was waiting for CS 200/400, which still seems to be a distant launch, my lost my patience on 21st Feb, booked RS the very day and I was assured I will receive my bike by 29th Feb. I chose this day as it was a unique date, however I was so excited to get my hands on her, I went to the sector 14,gurgaon showroom paid them cash and received my baby on 28th Feb'16. I wasn't aware of the PDI thing ,however I made sure I check everything and the bike looked perfectly fine to me. Finally,it was a dream come true, there have been days when I just stood next to bike and kept staring and the as the days past, it was my day. I was holding the key to my RS and as soon as i turned on the ignition. It sounded as poetry to my ears.
I was also told the bike has already been tested and you'll not have any problems. I was told not to exceed 50 km/hr mark, however I crossed 90 km/hr though in the sixth gear. Is there a possibility this would have caused any damage to the engine ????? One thing which I was afraid of is the strange whistling sound I hear sometimes, the sound increases as speed increases but eventually it fades. Has anyone faced same situation ?? As of now I have completed 850 kms. The bike has been though it's first service and it feels great after service. I have got my engine oil changed to Motul 4T 7100 20W50. The gear box I feel is becoming smoother day by day. I haven't experienced any rattles as of now even at around 100/105 km/hrs. I have heard the running period is till 2000 kms, do I need to limit to specific speed limit ??? Any suggestions, what should I take care of ?? Please let me know if I have made any mistakes, suggestions are most welcomed. Thanks in advance .
sorry for writing such a long post, its mine first and I am damn excited

PS : being always told to go for safety gears. I have got sol unicorn 2 , rynox air GT jacket , scoyco k07 knee protectors, pro biker gloves (had with previous bike ,will soon replace them ) , need a good saddle bag , any suggestions ?? Do I need to but anything else ? Boots, yes , currently out of cash
will but as soon as I have money
The whistling sound that you mentioned might be from front or rear brake cuz of new plate and pad. It will fade away slowly. First thing you can do is change to mineral oil than synthetic for better run in. Patience paid off.Put The Pedal To The Metal

Thanks a lot for the advice bro ! Will always keep a check on my speedOriginally posted by Sharma Ji View PostFirst of all congrats brother...
Secondly I also have that whistling sound and kinda used to it now.
Bro you should control yourself and properly run in the engine...
Although I am not able to control myself and I am revving it hard in its run in period but still I want you should understand that you should properly run in into the engine.
It seems that I have done great damage to my bike as I have touched a max of 143 km/hr on my bike on highway in the run in period.
I know it's hard to control ourselves when we have pulsar rs200 in our hands but still, for the better and extended life of our bikes we should properly run in into.
What's the big deal....you have just to control yourself for 2k kms and then the bike's max power, top speed......etc. are all yours.
I look best when I take my helmet off, I have a glow on my face and a bit of helmet hair ;)

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Okay ! Does using synthetic oil harms the engine in any way ? I have always had seen people praise synthetic oil, as a result of which I replaced the mineral to synthetic after first service. I'd like to know more about the differences between the two oil. Is there anyone who can help me with this query ???Originally posted by Tanzing Sherpa View PostI don't think it's advisable to use 7100 right away cuz it's 100% synthetic oil you should have wait till 7K-8K for 7100. Synthetic oil does no harm to the engine. Upto ones personal wish whether to use mineral, semi-synth or synthetic oil.Originally posted by Lone_Rider 0_o View PostOkay ! Google to know the difference between three. The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!
Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Synthetic oil is made synthetically and hence it is far more superior than mineral oil in terms of lubrication. Mineral oil is natural which is a result of fractional distillation of crude.Originally posted by Lone_Rider 0_o View PostOkay ! Does using synthetic oil harms the engine in any way ? But synthetic oil does not allow proper setting in of components of the engine because it lubricates them in a very effective mannner and does not allow wear and tear.
Wear and tear is actually good for a new engine to make sure that all the components/parts inside the engine have set in completely. Thats why it is advised to run in the new engine with mineral oil. It lets wear and tear happen.
It is advised to use synthetic oils after almost completing 7-8k kms with mineral oil because in that amount of kms with mineral oil, engine sets in completely.

Are you serious about this? Kindly do not post incase you aren't aware about the process of making Engine Oils. Google the process and you will be more clear about it.Originally posted by Brezon95 View PostSynthetic oil is made synthetically and hence it is far more superior than mineral oil in terms of lubrication. PS: We have dedicated thread for Engine Oils to discuss about various oils. The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
I dont know the making of engine in detail. Sorry if I posted something wrong about its manufacturing process. Just wanted to tell that because of better lubrication synthetic oil is not advised in new engines. However its the decision of owner what to use and what to not.Originally posted by devils_friend View PostAre you serious about this? Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hello All. I am a happy RS 200 but facing a peculiar problem. My bike engine shuts down as soon as i touch 130 kmph around the redline 9k odd rpm. Though RS does not has a speed limiter. The service center guy changed the air filter and told now it is fine and he has checked it. Though not convinced i tried clocking 130 kmph around 9k rpm again. The problem is still there. Please help me resolve this problem. As per me it is something related to ecu. Also if anyone can suggest me best bajaj service center in Bangalore caoable to solve this problem.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Bigger question is why do you need to do 130kph ? Every bike has a rev limiter set to predefined rpm after which it cuts off ignition.Originally posted by Rhimm View PostHello All. There might be some problem with your console maybe?Originally posted by Rhimm View PostHello All. I am a happy RS 200 but facing a peculiar problem. OR
If you have a paddock stand, try to get the bike moving in gear while the rear tire is suspended up in the air. Be very careful though this is very dangerous and can cause the bike some harm, you have been warned.
Try to reach the 130 km/h mark and see if it still gains speed. If it does, your bike is fine. If it doesn't, better show the SVC ASAP.
Tell one of the mechanics to ride pillion while you demonstrate what happens to be your problem. Best of luck!
Actually the rev limiter in the RS 200 is set around 10.5-10.7K RPM (not all bikes are same). If you keep accelerating past that the bike just keeps bouncing off the limiter, there is no actual fuel cutoff (not in the lower gears at least).Originally posted by RohIIT View PostBigger question is why do you need to do 130kph ? Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Please DO NOT EVEN THINK of trying this. This is extremely dangerous and totally uncalled for. If the bike tilts towards the rear during this exercise, it will run off the stand and might be totally destroyed.Originally posted by Minisoda View Post

This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to "What could go wrong" while attempting this method.Originally posted by rachitsharma2000 View PostPlease DO NOT EVEN THINK of trying this. I am well aware of it and that's why I warned him that it may cause harm.
If there is any other option then you may suggest it to him because I got nothing.
Cheers!
