Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Did you try to start the bike while it was not completely dry? I was thinking in terms of all things we are not supposed to do in a case like this. It would be appreciable if you share your views on this....Originally posted by Black0ut View PostRiding a bike is like flying.... All your senses are alive...

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Even I agree with you "SSSRagav" as the moment came to know that TVS will launch 200 cc Apache with Naked looks and not Draken....went straight to Bajaj and booked the White color Beast,Just waiting for my fav registration number and company has asked for 20 days to give bike delivery in White color.
So maybe able to post bike pics on 20th Feb as gonna take delivery on that date as its my bday gift from wife-dad-mom n Sis.

Re: Pulsar RS 200 water draining issue
A small reliability incident with the rs200 that caused alot of inconvenience yesterday.
My bike refused to start in the morning. whenever i pressed the ignition i used to get a sound(loud "TAK"..."TAK") coming from below the seat. there was no prior warning lights on the console.
It was the same issue i faced 1k km back but never resurfaced. This time it refused to crank for a long time. I had researched on that issue and found out to be a weak battery issue. Was surprised that it should happen in a 3.5 month old vehicle.
Anyways. called the bajaj showroom and was given a contact number of the nearest service center who promptly sent a technician.
Now for the part where the legendary bajaj service comes into play.
The technician comes with a battery that has been borrowed from a customers NS200!. He fits the battery, the the bike cranks. takes it for a round and everything seems normal. Now he ask for the bike to be taken to the showroom for further testing and charging of the battery.
Now this technician comes from a showroom/service center that doesnt sell rs200 or service them.Giving them the bike to experiment on was not a risk i was willing to take.
Since they couldn't keep the charged battery in my bike, i asked them to take both the batteries back, charge my battery and hand it over. They reluctantly agreed but said i have to come and pick it up my self, unless if they are free, they would deliver.
I will take my bike to the showroom from where i bought it since that place services bajaj as well as ktm and Kawasaki. They have much more experienced people.
Also couple of other issues faced with the bike are a nonfunctional rear taillight,The parking light doesn't work. Another issue is the tik tik sound people have attributed to loose tappets, will get that checked.
All in all sad to see such an issue in a new bike but hopefully its a battery issue which should be replaced and not an issue with the alternator.
Im so sorry. 150/60, the stock rear tyre for the duke is within tolerance limit. I was thinking 150/60 but misread 150/70Originally posted by vvk1999 View PostI don't think so, tolerance limit is 3% maximum
For 130/70 sidewall height is 91
,likewise 140/70 ~ 98 =7% tolerance
,150/70 ~ 105=whopping 14% tolerance [emoji27]
For 150/60 height is 90 which is within 3% & right up size
There are lot of forums which discuss this. i quickly managed to find a couple which explain somewhat in detail, though you will get more technically explained if your search harder.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
No I did not start the bike.. As the water level was so high I was certain that water would have gotten into engine.. so didn't try tht.. Almost all essential electricals has failed.. I missed to disconnect the battery before my bike got submerged... if i had done that..things would have ended in a different way...Originally posted by rachitsharma2000 View PostDid you try to start the bike while it was not completely dry? Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Went to the service center following the issues with the battery drain.
i rode to the service center which is 22 km away with my original battery after it was charged. Had no starting issues. At the service center they checked the battery and alternator and both were working fine. they couldn't find any problem. However i was assured that if the same issues occurs again then the would replace my battery.
I left it at that, since the bike is not my primary vehicle and i dont have the time to follow up with the service center. There will be hell on earth if the same issue occurs again though
I also had an issue with the parking light of the tail lamp not working. The part wasn't in stock and ill have to wait for 15 days for it to come. They dont open the tail light to replace anything under warranty, the whole assembly is replaced.
So now less of night riding .
Also gave a complaint about a sound coming from the front brakes when the bike is pushed around. The service guy opened the brake, cleaned the pads and refitted it back. But a big issue that the service guy found while removing the brakes was the looseness in the disk!! the disk had a play in it if you moved it with your had. apparently the retaining screws were loose!! The screws had to be tightened.
This was a serious problem and i never checked it before. Fellow RS200 owners please check your disk for any movement. If loose, you could end up in serious trouble in high speed panic braking.
After the front brakes was refitted , i noticed it once i started going home, there is a dead play in the front brake lever before the brake engages. Its not an issue but i was used to the brake engaging after the lever was pulled a few mm. Now the brake engages after half an inch of pulling it.
All in all all a mixed day for me. Happy to get the bike back in working condition but not so happy with the discharged battery issue not being permanently solved. Also not happy to wait for 15 days for the tail light assembly to arrive.
Do you'll feel i should write a mail to bajaj? will it do any good? i wonder what more those SVC guys will do to check my battery issue.
Finally, as i was exploring the service bays i found this particular bulletin pasted on the board. I dont think it has been posted in this forum. Have a look at it.
Some changes in fresh batch of Rs200. There was another page which i couldn't click due to the presence of service people. It had the cost of the parts used in the fresh batch. They are as follows:
1. non abs wiring harness ~7100 rupees
2. ABS wiring harness ~9200/-
3.ight flasher ~ 433/-

What's your height and weight? Are you a complete rookie or have you ridden some other bike before deciding on the RS 200?

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
I would strongly suggest to take a test drive before buying RS200. I have a feeling that it might feel heavy to you as a starting bike. Dont buy if you are not 100% confident about the weight of the bike, you might regret it.Originally posted by suvam dash View PostMy height is 5'7 and my weight is 76kg...I learnt riding on a hero Honda splendor and then decided to buy a bike but my dad refused...so I bought a Honda activated instead...and I have been using it for 4 years now...so u can say that I am a complete rookie..
Personally, it does feel heavy while at standstill. I have dropped it thrice and I used to ride Karizma for many years before this. On a bright note, once you are on road, the weight dissappear and bike feels very stable (off-course due to the weight
