Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hi All,
I haven't rode my RS200 for last 5 days and today while coming to office I noted that whenever the rear brake is engaged, it gives out a screeching sound and light vibrations (seems like 2 surfaces rubbing against each other). It tried testing the scenario at different speed levels, every time sound and vibrations were there. Please let me know what could be the possible cause and how it can be addressed.
ODO meter reading on bike is just 200 KM.
Regards,
Abheyjit

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
This is my experience on this machine till now. I have completed 1000 km & i tried to follow the break in instructions from the manual, crossed the speed limit 7 times reaching 60-85kmph max not for more than a minute, couldn't drive the bike at variating rpms 😫 i find it hard to follow this rule, mileage is about 37 kmpl. The gear box is not as smooth as it was earlier, sometimes when i downshift the gear makes a sound like it was struggling to go down (khatt) & it hurts my emotions 😓, sometimes it shows neutral when it isn't & the bike stalls as soon as i let go of the clutch & the neutral indicator turns off. The rear brake has been less effective since the start, i have told the SVC 2 times about it, the 1st time he said that the bike is new & as it'll run the rear brake will get better but it didn't get any, the 2nd time was on the first service he said that the bike is washed so it'll take some time for the moisture to dry then the brakes will be fine, so i patiently came home. Since the start i have been using both the front(abs) & the rear brake since the rear ones are not that effective the front is being used quiet a lot & i see that the front brake lever is not as tight as it was when it was new (may be it is because the bike was new back then) when i press the rear brake it starts to come into effect at the end (after i have almost pushed the lever down). There is a 'thudd' sound from the front when i go on the speed breakers at around 28-30 kmph but at any lower speeds the sound is not there. Does anyone hear the sound of the chain (like it starts running freely) while riding & holding the clutch for any reason? Am i facing any serious issues? Suggestions are most appreciated

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Dear Suvam Dash, Dost both bikes are of different league alltogether as Gixxer is 150cc light weight and Rs is 200cc with 165kg weight.
I would suggest that you go for RS 200 as its value for Money plus you have ridden two wheeler no matter a 100cc light weight Activa.
You will feel weight initially but after few days you will be used to the bike.
So welcome to RS200 group soon....

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
+1 seems too high. is this the probable estimate given by them? ABS cost is too much.Originally posted by Yatheesh S Yashashvi View Post30k for ABS n 6k for Wiring..
Have you checked the price in other ASC's
Bcz the prices they have quoted are too hingh..
Wiring may come around at 2+K
ABS 12-13K

Hearing Karzima from your post, I'd like to know how do you rate your engine refinement levels Karizma (old) Vs RS200.Originally posted by rachitsharma2000 View PostI used to ride Karizma for many years before this.
In my short ride, couldn't feel RS any better, but that good old Honda engine sitting inside sure I know how it feels

For your height, Gixxer of Honda Hornet will suit well. Plus for a city rides, Gixxer is a bliss to ride and if plans for occasional trips, Hornet rocks. Maybe you should TD all three. RS200, keep it at last, plus use the extra money you spend for buying RS200 to get a good protection vest(riding gears)Originally posted by suvam dash View PostThank you very much for your advice dude....will surely go for a test ride before buying the bike....and what about gixxer sf will it be a good bike for a beginner??

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Karizma engine was a lot more refined as compared to RS200 but did not have the same urgency towards redlining. Moreover, vibes were more when riding at high speeds in excess of 115 kmph. Low end performance was better than RS200.Originally posted by jbm_guy View PostHearing Karzima from your post, I'd like to know how do you rate your engine refinement levels Karizma (old) Vs RS200.

My Karizma did develop vibes in fairing but that was after 1-2 years of ownership.Riding a bike is like flying.... All your senses are alive...

9k for wiring!!??Originally posted by Black0ut View PostYour quotation looks wonderful..I wud love it if thts the actual price...
Yes i checked with other svc...Sorry wiring kit cost is around 9 k rs not 6 k..
Does they have gold plated connecting tips/plugs,
Ask him once again is he telling the price for whole wiring kit(alternator, starter, ecu, relay)
Just for wiring harness 9k is too high,
Try to obtain price from Bajaj, write a mail they may respond if you have some luck!!

Nice dude!! Mileage is good enough! The thud sound is there in my rs too. I too complaint many times to svc guy ,no use in it. But many of the guys in this thread said that their thud sound went off after their service. I dont know how they done! Some one help us too.!
Next thing the chain sound is normal.you may hear sound clearly when you press the clutch in 40-50kms at no sound areas.i recommend you to check the chain slag once again with your local mechanic or svc guy.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Its a pulsar afterall. Search "blip the throttle when you downshift", learn it well and you'll enjoy. Its not a honda gearbox you have to live with it.Originally posted by kumaranpk View PostThis is my experience on this machine till now. Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Guys! request you to shed some wisdom on the possible cause of this issue and steps I can perform to rectify the same. This is a relatively new machine and such niggles are not expected.Originally posted by abbysodhi View PostHi All,
