  • Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience

I just went to khivraj showroom. My frnd is in velachery, so went there to check out the bike..Was actually thinking of booking the bike there.. That guy quoted 1.36l for non abs one.. And more over, the place was like a bike dump. So many new bikes, just left out in open.. All the bikes where fully dirty..
I'm new to Chennai, n I live in poonamalle now. Is it ok to buy at the same place or, some where else? Please suggest me a place... I need my bike in a good condition.

Good to know that traffic sense is better in Chennai... Mumbai is bad in terms of traffic, at least the suburbs. Amongst other cities I have been in, Hyderabad is pretty bad, Delhi is better but Noida and Gurgaon are just pathetic!

I took my NS there, however mine was a fresh stock since I wanted MRF only red color which was not available even at their mount road showroom. Well that was good too, because otherwise they would give an old stock or even a TD model.

Well, services are not good. Khivraj does not have a great remarks. I'd advice you to check in Jai bajaj. I changed my 2nd service to a nearby small bajaj showroom and I am happy now.

        Yeah better, but still.....!!!
At least 99% of cars don't rash drive. But many MTC(Corporation bus) do . They just dive into our path without any notice or reason. India is India, chennai or Mumbai, and Indians are Indians always . Well, jokes apart, we should try our best to follow some standards. I prefer the same what like you "Hand Signal", use RVM, and turn my head a bit and make sure no R15 or some splendor runs over me

Regarding the buses, their behavior is a lot predictable if you know the location of bus stops. In Mumbai, usually buses won't stop randomly (they do stop in the middle of the road if there is a bus stop though). On the other hand, auto rickshaw are very unpredictable and so are the small truck/lorry drivers.

In South Mumbai, auto rickshaws are not allowed and you wouldn't believe how much better it is to drive there....

oh that's really good. Auto rickshaws behave the same here. Here sometimes buses dont stop in the bus stop, they skip if it is over crowded, so becomes unpredictable.

Add Pune to that pathetic list... People here just dont follow any traffic rules... Stopping at red signals to driving in wrong side of one ways... God knows what they do next second... Sad thing is, it is the same case with well educated and mnc employees as well... Iam from Hyderabad so you can imagine to what limits they have irritated me..

                          1. I ride the bike at 2nd gear mainly because i live in a busy area, so is it okay or should i go higher gears i shift to 3rd gear whenever there is less traffic.
                          2. my friend took the bike for a ride and told me that he hit 135 km/hr, is it going to hurt my bike?
                          3. Can someone please explain the gear shifts along with rpm's, like at what gear should i go to 3k Rpm?

1: You always ride in one gear, no matter what the speed? :O

2: Time to get better friends, those who respect your rides

Yes, free service. I was a bit startled on my own decision of changing the service place, as Khivraj asked two days for my second service, reason : they can't fix a bloody motor and hence they give it outside for water wash; IS THAT MY PROBLEM?. They kept saying the same for two weeks, I lost patience and I didnt want my bike to be in the hands of some dumb*** spanner heads who dont know what they are doing. I checked with a nearest Bajaj svc (In madipakam) where I trusted on engineer. He initially hesitated, but then accepted. The thing is to claim warranty in a service centre they need to produce all records of free service. If you do it in a different places, then they might need to source that from the previous svc which is a bit of time consuming. For every service Bajaj creates a member ID and hence now Bajaj can track if you have really taken the free service on time since your purchase in case of warranty claims.

At least we bikers pledge to follow some rules. This may be helpful.

I got into a mishap today ,signal was turning red (my speed was 20kmph) so i was slowing down to stop near the kalina (mohamadnagar junction) a bmw guy didnt want to slow down and miss the signal so he rammed my bike from behind . I fell down, luckily nothing happened . He was like ,i am sorry my driver thought you woudnt stop for red signal so he accidentally hit you(i was like wtf)(and he is saying dont worry ill give you paisa ,settle kar dunga ,i dont know why but when he said this ,i got very angry ,its like the guy thinks its a joke ram people and then say paisa de dunga) . After a heated discussion (mostly which was me shouting at the dude and his driver) public gathered and evr1 was like arey bmw vale ko bhar nikalo (crowd was almost ready to beat up the driver ) (since the accident happened near a junction with 4 police people and lots of shopkeepers i got a lot of support ) I got the dudes number and i think he will be paying for the damage (my mudguard broke ,again my gearshift got bent and little bit scratches here and there nothing major, maybe there might be minor wheel misalignment but i dont think i will ever come to know as there is no way to check ) and in those 10 minutes another accident happened same area ,similar circumstances . So if you are going there be careful at that junction really accident prone. (that biker dude got out and broke the window of the car guy in anger ...... ). totally i think the accident has cost me 1500 rs (rough estimate ) . In India you suffer when you follow the rules. On a side note remember accident caused due to rash driving is a cognizable and punishable offense section 279 (which means the guy can go to jail and you can file a FIR against the person and then proceed to court). (you can File FIR wherever you see fit ,like the police station near you or somewhere where you have influence). Lets see if the dude pays the money or not ,will keep you guys updated .
so far the dude has not come and paid the money ,so i have totally spent 800 rs out of my own pocket for servicing (paid service ). I was thinking of getting the mudguard replaced but it costs 1200 rs and rainy season is almost over . Do you have any idea how much a mudguard costs as i feel the bajaj person maybe giving me a much higher price.

Hello again owners of the amazing Pulsar RS 200!

How is the bike treating you so far? I hope you guys have many more happy days on your bikes.

I was wondering if the bike starts up easily in cold days (like morning)? Does it need to be warmed up more compared to if it was hot outside?

Also inquired about Hazards/flashing indicators for Pulsar RS 200. Spiraltech does make a module for the RS but it isn't plug and play like on the KTM's. They say that it's possible but needs couplers for functioning properly. Anyone interested can contact them on Facebook.

Have a nice day all. Thanks.
