Hi guys,I have been reading all the posts in this forum and must say that it was really informative and helpful. And this is my first post in this forum. Its been almost one month since i bought my red rs 200 and i havent driven it that much, as of now its around 250 km.You see it rains a lot and i hate to get my bike dirty and covered with mud.As of now i have just faced one problem and it would be great if any of you could throw some light on the issue.Post 100 km my rear shock has started to give a real squeaky noise and its getting more and more as i ride it.Now even if the bike is in side stand, all you need to do is just apply some pressure on the rider seat and the squeak can be heard atleast some 10 meters. Can anyone please advice me on this.

Hello,
Looks like your ride is indeed suffering from rain, It maybe simple case of needing some cleaning and lubricating the rear shock or worst case needs change of rubber mounting points, take it to svc they will get it fixed.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
I was reading an article about running in/ engine break in of 200NS (since the engine is same for RS200 and 200NS) and it suggested very frequent oil change in contrast to the guideline mentioned in RS200 owner's manual (which is to just change it once at 450km+).
It suggested:
- 1st oil change at 250 to 300 kms
- 2nd oil change in First service at around 600 to 700 kms
- 3rd oil change at around 1200 to 1300 kms
- 4th oil change at around 2000 kms to complete the running in.
Is is required to change engine oil this frequent?

Follow the manual.Originally posted by Rachit Puri View PostI was reading an article about running in/ engine break in of 200NS (since the engine is same for RS200 and 200NS) and it suggested very frequent oil change in contrast to the guideline mentioned in RS200 owner's manual (which is to just change it once at 450km+).
First oil change at 500 km is just fine. Newer bikes of today run on fully synthetic oils from factory and have tighter tolerances. They don't need those many oil changes.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

2. To adjust projector beams there are red and blue switches above ECU...those can be used!

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Had the same problem when my RS was new. Took it to the service center and they told me that it was due to wet mud getting into the brake pads and drying, thus causing the squeaking sound. They cleaned the brake pads and lubed them, and lo! Problem Solved!Originally posted by Sajju View PostHi guys,I have been reading all the posts in this forum and must say that it was really informative and helpful.
However, I started getting the sound once again after a few days, but then I just ignored them as rain was the real culprit and could not be avoided. My bike has clocked almost 900 KMS and the sounds have magically vanished! So I think it's nothing to worry about. But do visit the service center once. Two tires feel better than four. Period.

Yes it can be used on RS200 as well... Tried Clutchless shifting with RS today... And my god, it responds superbly... There is no jerk, there is no lugging or struggle... This beast is made so good... In love with Clutchless shifting...
It is done as done with other bikes... Same technique... Sharing the link of a video which might be helpful for first timers...

I too have this problem in my bike and I posted in the community. however, I did not see any comment for this. I spoke to the service men and they also couldnt help me get rid of the sound. I am just living with it now. But when it comes to performance and mileage its getting better and better every day. I have completed 1500 kms. I am getting 42kms mileage now both city and high way riding.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Oh!..That means the sound is still there.I hope mine is a minor one and the service centre guys can fix it.Your mileage of 42 is simply great. But is it after taking your bike to higher revs or is it with keeping the revs in mid range?Originally posted by Sarvothama View PostI too have this problem in my bike and I posted in the community. however, I did not see any comment for this. Yes, I too started doing clutchless upshifts on my RS recently and it is awesome! Butter-smooth!
However, will it do any harm to the bike? Two tires feel better than four. Period.
