If NS has proved itself in the touring section then RS can also do it without a fuss with added advantage of FI and ABS.

The recent alloy wheel saga is of concern.

Now the question of 500-800 kms at one stretch, you need to ask the question yourself wether you will able to do it or not.

The rider is the one who matters end of day. Read this below quote somewhere

"you just need 8 hp to travel the world, the rest is just wheel spin"

    Cheers,
    Sanjay

You need to change lot of things and even if you change things results won't be 100% successful.

Now the question which annoys is why did you buy NON-ABS and want to add ABS explicitly when ABS model was available. You could have brought the ABS one.

        Cheers,

My friend, if you will get the abs installed it will take around 20000-30000 rupees extra for sure.

Now ABS out of picture, learn braking techniques on the non ABS. This is agreed that ABS is a great boon but it can never challenge a human braking technique.

And I guess, RS has steel braided lines at front that will surely do wonders if you learn different techniques of braking.

          Cheers

Owner's manual states vehicle kerb weight as 165kg and gross vehicle weight as 295kg.
This means that total specified weight for rider (including pillion) is just 130kg..
If I'm 70kg, my bike can accommodate a pillion of weight not more than 60kg!!

That's normal Indian bike payload capacity. But most bikes in India run on overload most of the time without a fuss. So no issues here..just ride

It's been just 5 days and I'm in love with this bike.
Have done 130 kms and noticed few things:
                  1. Idling engine speed is too much i.e.. 2000rpm (should be ~1400rpm), once I start the engine, the pin goes to 2.5k rpm for 1.5 sec then comes down to ~1900rpm
                  2. Engine kill gives a sudden (harsh) sound
                  3. Thud sound comes on speed breakers (have to be very cautious and slow down to < 15 kmph)
                  4. Sometimes while performing consecutive gear down, there is no response until I release the clutch for a sec and try again (has happened twice)
                  5. There is difference between front n rear brake bite... rear feels like drum brake (slow and smooth) while front gives heavy and sudden braking
                  6. Following speed limit for each gear (as mentioned in owner's manual) is tough without gear indicator on the console (but getting used to it now)
                  7. Riding 20 kms on bad roads of blr (with traffic) heated up the bike and could feels slight blow of heat on the legs (sometimes left sometimes right), but it was not major.

                    1. This is a problem. Ideally, it should be around 1.4 - 1.7 k RPM. Get in touch with the service station for this.
                    2. No idea mate, can you please elaborate?
                    3. Speed breakers are supposed to be passed at low speeds
                    4. Used to happen a lot with me as well, but gets better with time.
                    5. This too will get better with time. Initially, the brakes too need a run-in. Another 100 odd km and they will start working to their 100% efficiency. Make sure you use front brakes as your primary brakes.
                    6. That happens. Focus on RPM. Initially, it is around 3500 RPM if I am not wrong. In some time, you will be able to guess when a gear shift is needed just by listening to the sound of the bike
                    7. This too is normal. But check if the fan is working. Ideally it should start working within 5-10 min of heavy traffic.
Riding a bike is like flying.... All your senses are alive...

I have been reading more and more posts about the alloy breaking case and it is really not good. Also the response given by Bajaj is not upto the mark. They just issued a statement and no proof other than that. This is not expected from such a big manufacturer. Also considering the seriousness of the issue, if there really is such quality issues, it can prove fatal for us.. I also posted about the thud noise in front on the official Bajaj pulsar fb page but they easily ignored it.
Can't we (RS 200) owners come together and sign the petition on change.org to provide us with the proper findings on the alloy crash with proof and also resolve the thud noise in all the bikes.

Practice to release clutch after every gear shift, that should smoothen it.

Ok..so currently, if I'm riding at 38/45 kmph (5th/6th gear) and there is a speed breaker ahead. I release throttle apply break and just before the speed breaker gear down with the clutch pressed to 2nd and continue.

Now instead I should keep shifting down gear and release clutch one by one?

With all the confusions and questions about the bikes quality, why not look at alternatives?
I own a RS200, and all the excitement I had a few weeks back when I bought it have gone now because of the negative news flooding in.
Why would you want to go through the same experience bro? Also, if the build quality is really bad as they portray, you're risking whole lot than your 1.5L money.
