        I own a vega off road helmet and it is a good helmet unless its a windy day, It doesn't get nervous or throw your head around at high speeds, but a small breeze of wind is enough to throw your head around.

        In short vega off road is perfect for city commute but if you wanna do touring try to look for a more aerodynamic off road helmet.

        Now for the RS, Its absolute pleasure to drive this machine and the sound it make while up shifting is so mind blowing and that is above 5000 rpm.

        cannot imagine how it will be past 7 or 8000 rpm.

        Congrats on your purchase of this beast and well written first experience.

        I am confused, but to me RS feels very light compared to my previous motorcycles from pulsar family.

        I was surprised when I had to push my pulsar 180 and RS 200 back to back on the day I took delivery of my RS, that how light this motorcycle was.

        Bajaj has indeed come a long way in terms of technical advancement( I am not comparing with other brands), because I will never forget all the curses I have given them every time I had to push there motorcycle, because how damn heavy they are.

          [emoji33] Really? It was seriously heavy for me to push around. There are narrow paths and turns inside my home where I park. So have to push around carefully. That might be one other reason.

          Day 2:

          1. Still no idea, how to adjust the RVM.
          2. Left RVM is loose. I tightened it up two or three times. Still it gets unscrewed.
          3. 1-2-1-N is the shortest I get to neutral now.
          4. Sometimes, the console shows neutral, but the vehicle seems to be first or second gear.
          5. I'm driving less than 5k RPM but I get to it in no time. i.e. I switch gear, immediately hit 5k RPM and then up shift and this follows till 6th. Is that fine [emoji53]
          6. The RVMs seem to be like distant relatives. They exist, but too far. Not much acquaintance.
          7. Rear brakes - still hasn't hit me. I'm 80-20 brake person and maybe that's one reason I haven't felt the rear brakes much.
          8. Haven't felt the infamous thud yet. [emoji53]

            1. Only the head of the RVM, that is the actual mirror part can be adjusted and not the whole stem. You cannot adjust it too much but it is enough to get its job done. Just hold the mirror and turn it slightly to the directly you want to push it to. Don't push or pull it too roughly.

            2. I got my right RVM hit (no scratches thankfully) and it came loose. Adjusted it tightly 2-3 times but had to stop every 1 km to tighten it. Finally, around the 4th time, I tightened it too much, as much as I my arms could apply the force. It has been several weeks since then and it has not got loose even a bit. So I suggest you tighten it properly.

            3. That's the exclusive Pulsar neutral dilemma Thankfully, after almost a month of owning the bike, I'm now getting closer to hitting neutral in one go. It takes time to gain perfection in the art of finding neutral in Pulsars!

            4. Yeah, happened to me a couple of times during a cold start. But that was during the initial days. After the first service, I don't experience the problem anymore.

            5. Do not give a lot of throttle. But that doesn't mean you have to ride it like a Platina. Just take it easy on the throttle and accelerate normally. Yes, the bike is powerful and reaches 5k RPM in no time. Just follow proper gear-shifting and everything will be fine.

            6. Yes, the RVMs are way ahead of the rider. But surprisingly, they do their job really well.

            7. Same here.

            8. I myself had not encountered the Thud in the initial days. But going over a steep speed-breaker or a deep pothole at more than 10kph may cause the sound.

              I can only answer 3rd and 5th points.

              3. When I test rode the bike, I also found it hard to find neutral. But I tried pulling the clutch lever all the way in and I was able to go to neutral from first very easily. Same thing with my Duke, pulling the lever halfway like while shifting gears makes it difficult to find neutral. So try pulling the clutch lever all the way in.

              5. Important thing is to vary the RPM. Don't baby it too much. Take it to high RPMs occasionally, but don't redline it. Also do lots of engine braking.

                once i saw a bike which had collided head on with a car. the estimated speed of the bike was 80+. the front fork had snapped clean off, but the alloys weren't even bent. but judging by the pics here, there wasnt any collision. so the quality is to be blamed i guess. so many diff claims cant simply be a coincidence. its either a defamation plot, or a serious quality issue.

                  So on a side impact or a fall the alloy breaks and it has happened in other manufacturer bikes too? As is clearly evident from the fact that in the above picture there is hardly any damage elsewhere on the bike

As per the sales person the ABS works only after 8Km continuous run, Is that So? Is this is the case in RS 200 alone or it is the same other bike or car with ABS. I heard the Thum noise.

                      Answering your question about ABS. It's not that ABS get's activated only after 8kms, but the brake pads are still new and they will be hard and non-responsive. The ABS will be active all through the life, but you can actually feel the ABS working once you warm them up. Use gradual braking (both rear and front) and engine braking for about the first 100kms to use them to full potential. Any car or bike needs this during the run-in condition.

                      Same is the case with me. It feels really light between your legs, but when I have to push it backwards in a parking lot I struggle a lot. Being 5'11" I expected this to be easy but it's not.

                      1. You can adjust RVM bars in total using tool kit it's very easy.
                      2. Tight it till your hands pain
                      3. That's the best way to do it. But on practice you can hit N from 2nd, but I dont do that.
                      4. I didn't face this issue yet. It might only be when you just start the machine and whole console lightens up.
                      5. You can control the RPM with very less throttle. Switch gear and you can keep it around 2.5K RPM and I can go till 6th gear without even hitting 4k RPM. Just get used to the throttle response.
                      6. I too felt the same in the first week, but now I feel comfortable with them.
                      7. Rear brakes are useful only to slowdown your bike. For actual stopping, I think you need to use front braking.
                      8. I feel the thud everyday

                        Pt 5. Avoid sudden acceleration and lugging of the engine at higher gears. Lugging is far worse than going over 5k RPM. Do not hold same RPM for long duration of time.

                            To those who had completed the run in period at the recommended RPM limits, a big [emoji120] [emoji120] [emoji120]. I did a 120 km (highway+city) drive, mostly maintaining at 4.5k rpm, but occasionally went up. Seriously, it seems very very difficult to adhere to the limit [emoji15].

                            I haven't lugged the engine. But done a lot of sudden acceleration [emoji53]. Have I done damage already? [emoji15]

                            My engine sounds too noisy, kind of grainy noisy. Is it just me being paranoid or something that needs to be adjusted on the machine?

                            The alloy wheel failure news has really left me worried. I had dropped a PM to their official FB account. Will post the response if I get.

                              Thank you Bhargav, so this means after run in I can feel the ABS on go before 8 KM.
