Update on THUD sound: I carefully checked under the fairing and found a loose wire with some connector hanging right on top of front mudguard. I quickly fixed it by taping it to a set of wiring which was hardbound and now the THUD sound is gone. remember, the front suspension travel is long hence no wonder any lose fitting will hit front mudguard.

regarding the alloy wheel issue - Bajaj is just not willing to accept it as a fault however it is. I would recommend everyone to take a walk of service center and u'll find few cases. Attached is an image from my walk at service centerClick image for larger version

    2) How can I repair some minor dent and scratches??
    3) How much fuel do one point of digital indicator have??
Ans for 3: by my estimate around 4 litres of which 2.5 is dead stock. I have commuted for around 40 Km on single bar but wouldn't recommend that.

    Hi Folks,

    few questions:

    1. Which Polish/wax has given best results for RS200?
    2. Which chain lubricant is good?
    3. Other than gel seat covers, has anyone tried seat cushions of different types?
    4. I had used Cramster Colt saddle bags on a trip and were good however the pillion seating wasn't comfortable as it covered the complete seat. Has anybody tried any other saddle bags which fit well on bike and provide ample space for pillion to keep legs on foot rest easily?

Any links for products will be helpful.

Folks in bangalore/other who are willing to travel, for the diwali period, we have a five day break 11th to 15th. I was planning for a trip to Munnar/thekkady or Goa ( as the group decides, right now i'm lone rider). Please let me know if anyone is interested. We can get the bookings done by next wednesday if we wish to ride.

I use Motul chain lube road and am quite satisfied with it. Would recommend it.

            1) This company makes frame sliders for the 200 NS. You can contact them to see if they are willing to make some for the RS.

            2) No idea about the dents, but you can use any Bike/Car polish (e.g. MotoMax) to get rid of minor scratches. Just make sure the bike is clean before applying the polish, and use a soft cloth to wipe it (preferably microfiber).

              Appreciated for the answers bro..
Yea i know motofusion are giving frame sliders but i want to make sure that the same of N 200 will b fitting to RS as well so that i can order it online.
And if i want to the scratch work done by the SVC so are the able to do it by painting it s. Coz i got a big spot scratch in front mud guard and i think it is due to the thud sound which everyone is facing..

                Hey.

Just a small update on few issues faced after 800 kms of blissful riding.

First issues faced and seems a bit serious occurred only once, about 150 km ago when i tried to start the bike in the evening. I pressed the starter button but the bike didn't crank, only got a 'TAK' sound when i pressed the ignition button. I tried 3 to 4 times and each time i pressed i got the same sound. It finally started after i removed the key and reinserted it.
I dont think it can be a battery issues so soon so only culprit seems to be the ignition system. It hasn't happened again but if it does occur again then ill take it to the SVC as im bit busy at work.

Second issue is with the downshifts. About 50 km after the first service i pushed the bike to 80km/hr for 1 or 2 km on the highway. After slowing down i found the downshifts to be extremely loose, that going from 6 to 3 it felt like the gear lever was sliding through to 3. Haven't faced that issue again because i haven't taken the bike above 65km/hr. But occasionally while down shifting, and happens rarely, when i downshift to say 2 from 5 i get the usual click sound when i shift to 2 with the clutch lever still engaged but as soon as i release the clutch i get another click sound and the gear finally engages.
What can the issue be? is it because of the semi synthetic motul 3100 oil? or the mixture between the older residue bajaj mineral oil and motul oil?

Will ride some more and try to document exactly when the above issues occur under what condition. Hopefully the starting problem can be diagnosed and fixed immediately by bajaj without them experimenting on my bike
Other than the two niggles the bike rides fine, no rattles, no thud sound but the usual vibes at 4.5 to 5k rpm which doesnt bother me a bit.

                regards

I don't think those particular slider's will fit on our bikes, since the frame is now hidden behind the fairing.

About the scratch, I would suggest you to get the entire front mud guard replaced instead of painting it because they won't do it professionally and it would spoil the looks.

                  Cheers!

I am also facing the second issue mentioned here. It usually happens in city riding. This only happens when you downshift at a lower speed from a high gear. Eg. Your clutch is engaged and you're at 6th gear but your speed is only 35-40. In this case when you downshift, you will get into 5th gear but when you downshift again to 4th gear, it won't. For that you have to release the clutch for a second, it will make that 'click' sound, then only you will get into 4th gear. I have seen this first time ever on any motorcycle.

Hope this doesn't cause any damage to the clutch plate.

In my experience of around 3500kms with this bike, it has happned twice or maybe thrice by now. So I don't think it would be any problem if it occurs that occasionally.

Waiting period varies from town to town. Check this with couple of delers from your city.
