      2. In the attachment, i've put pictures: First is, at the start of the day when engine is cold, i hardly see any engine oil in the window. Note: Bike was straight when pics were taken. the second picture, after i have commuted for around 10KM, the window is almost full. Did anyone else note the same behavior? Is it advisable to top up?

      2. I think you need a topup immediately. The best time to observe oil level is when the bike has been stationary for some time. You can also remove the refil cap and see the oil level on that stick to confirm.

      3. This is giving me chills in my bones... Need to rush to my bike and inspect for such missing screws. Offlately viberations in my bike have increased a lot and this could be the cause.

I think this may be a thread left over from the casting process guys. Keeping in mind that no one so far has found any screw in that thread, this is the most logical explanation.

It's night here, but I will take pics and update first thing in the morning.

I lost 2, both left and right. The pic is of right side. So the one in pic had fallen earlier but one on the opposite side (left) fell when i was parking my bike - this discovery was accidental. i was parking on loose mud. The bike almost fell on left side. I managed not to let the bike fall however i noticed the screw was on ground. I quickly checked and found both screws were missing. All kindly check and reply.

Any thoughts if i can use a different brand oil for top up?

Further, off late pillion riders are complaining of hard seat. Has anybody tried seat covers which provide adequate comfort for long rides (400+km a day)? or can anyone suggest for a good material for seat cover - purpose remains same - long rides.

Mind if I ask you why is that you want to mix up engine oil of different brands? . Either top up the same or switch to new ones. From my knowledge, mixing will not blow your engine, but might take a toll on performance or smoothness. Also when you switch to different oil say Bajaj to Motul, not everybody uses a cleaner agent. So still you get some old oil sticking on the sidewalls. But mixing 50-50 is something that I'd not do

You can buy custom gel pads for seats. Normal cushion or sponge won't help much. I have tried that. I'm yet to try the gel, which I get more positive reviews. Something like this

SofaRider™ Quick Remove Gel Seat for Motorcycle, Bike

Actually I shift early so that I don't lug the engine because the bike starts to vibrate as it reaches 3.5k RPM mostly on lower gears(1st-3rd). Anyways thanks

                    Hi Shailesh,

Respect to you for keeping it under 3.5k rpm, I usually travel on highway and traffic in my city is very less. So from day one I kept it under 5k rpm till 80 or 100 odd kilometers.

Then I kept it under 5.5k rpm for next 50km, after that it was hard to keep it under 5k rpm as the gear shifts where getting hard and uneasy.

Now at 550km reading I have stopped following the manual all together as the speeds mentioned is not possible if you travel on highway and have plenty of open roads.

My point being I have not faced any issue so far and the engine feels much smoother and the gear shifts are positive when shifting at 5k rpm.

Is your gear shift hard or just easy enough or is it easy to shift? when shifting at 3.5k rpm.

I havent tried this but i think it would be a good replacement for the stock seat

Congrats for your purchase, the black looks really neat!

Engine and gears will smoothen out with time. I faced a lot of irritation with false neutral and what not, but after the first service thing went better.

                        Initial RPM looks fine.

I see that you intend to stick to the Bajaj recommendation for the run-in period. It is fine as long as you do not lug the engine. So, dont be lazy to downshift gears more often. I used to be lazy to do that initially and hence the recommendation
Thanks for the replying bro. I'm feeling that the gears have begun smoothening. Clocked 105 kms as of now. No false neutral issue till now. Nor have any problem in searching neutral as well , previously was using my dad's Suzuki GS150R. It's gears are same as RS200 but were super smooth. The only issue is power saving mode.. At night somehow the bikes shuts off the whole light shuts off. Mileage is 30-35 kmpl as of now.

                          Hello People!!
This is my first post on Xbhp. Registered long time ago when I was in collage (plz dont mind the silly user name i was just a collage kid then) but never posted.

                          now coming to the point!!
I am planning to buy a new bike and Pulsar RS200 seems to be the one. I took a test ride last weekend. it felt pretty big and bulky though well balanced.
now i have 2 major concerns here.

                          1) The throttle response of the bike was just too calm and wasn't something i was expecting. As i am migrating from a my old Pulsar 150 classic (2003 model. "The Male" is still the same) which is very very responsive more like a impatient boy that is always ready to launch ahead and my riding style has also been pretty much like that.
Is it how it is supposed to be or things change after runnin period? or may be i am just

                          2) I am 5'6" and found the seating a bit tall for me. did any one else with same height here had any problem while riding?

PS: I had amazing 12 years riding My Pulsar and never faced any significant issues till recently when electricals started showing age. With some repairs my bike is again running nicely. my expectation with the new bike are quite high.

                          thank you.

A very warm welcome to xBhp..
Don't worry about going with this bike. It's really a very sweet stuff! . I bet you will not regret your decision.

                            1. My bike have just clocked 106 kms and really I could feel the difference from 0 to 106 kms, The gearbox the engine noise everything is getting adjusted accordingly which is really awesome. I'm keeping the rpm @ 3.5k and speed upto 42 kms only. I'm 21 only and I really want to complete 2000 kms asap but I want my engine life also so living according to the rules of bajaj run-in period rules..
2.I'm 5'8" and was too feeling the bike as bulky but when I started riding it all things went right. I started loving everything about my bike. Bajaj has awesomely balanced it. Well done Bajaj!. And coming to the main point my friend is 5'6" too but he's not feeling any kind of problem riding it.. He's enjoying it.. And after run-in period you will really feel the awesome taste of this bike.

                            Regards

The motorcycle is slow on pick up (it will do wheelies) , I mean to say it does not have the urge to move forward. But once it picks up speed you won't even realize until you try to break and slow down.

The seat height is comfortable to ride and when you are on the saddle its very low , but climbing on it is whole another drama.

The weight is the reason for laziness. For this weight, it should carry a 250 cc engine. Almost equivalent to CBR in terms of weight. Riders who come from a 100/125cc will feel more downside on weight. But it's the human tendency to always ask for more. I believe this is enough and RS can serve well for long rides with protection and good stability only next to CBR250. City rides will be a bit difficult for zigzag rides. But that's not what everybody loves.

Congrats on new owners. Follow the run-in properly. The more you stick close to Bajaj guidelines, the better your engine gets set. But generally try to ride it ~4K RPM during this period.
