Good News!!! My dealer called me up morning and said me that he had somehow - mystically - tried long and hard and procured one Yellow RS 200 ABS and asked me if I could pay the balance amount today. I was like, 'yeah sure, why not!'. But he also said that after paying the full amount, they would take the vehicle for RTO and only after the registration they give it for delivery and that takes about a week's time. . Is that how it usually happens? You get the bike only a week after you had paid the full amount? Anyone from Chennai?

Imagine you pay full amount. And then the dealer uses the bike as test ride bike for 1 week. What are you going to do about it?

Here my knowledge of mythology came in handy . I narrated an incident which says Shani Dev can't hurt a Hanuman bhakt. On this basis, I said that it would be fine if I buy the bike on Saturday and take it for a Hanuman Ji mandir for pooja...

Finally she agreed and I got the bike home on Saturday... Great Success!!!! [SIZE=5][SIZE=1][SIZE=2]
Looking forward to a Pravachan ride with you buddy!

By the way, did you get a proper fitting bike cover for your RS? The showroom manager told me that they don't have a cover yet for the RS, as it's much bigger than the NS. He suggested me to get the R15 or CBR covers.

Yup..that usually happens, When the vehicle comes for the showroom and gets alloted to you and then you produce your valid ID proof, its usually takes 2-3 days to get the papers ready and RTO signed, since the area RTO will have few tie-ups with the showroom each day to bring their bikes for registration.

Once signed, the paper has to come from the RTO which will give you your delivery certificate (until the original RC comes). That usually takes a day or 2 tops...So a week is max that dealers quote.

One other thing is , You can get a DC from the showroom and take the bike outisde restricting the kms less than 50 since un-registered vehicles will be under police radar always. So hold on to your horses and wait for couple more days to get the bike registered and you can drive peacefully without any hassle.

              Nothing peculiar about that.

Does RS use H7 bulbs or H4 bulbs or HS1? How the high/low beam works, like in R15?

I think they use H7 bulbs, am not sure though.

Low beam works really good better than R15, High beam i didnt notice much difference when compared to other bikes. High beam could have been better in my opinion...

The Owner's manual says low beam is 55 watt and high beam is 65 watt, if they indeed use H7, it would be illegal as H7 Rallye 65 watt is not road legal.

                            Hey guys,

Got my red hot RS yesterday... without any booking . Did 22 kms on my RS and found it really smooth. There is some vibration at lower RPM and clutch is hard. But overall I am happy to own RS.

Please share if you have any advice for things I need to take care of before 1st service.

                            Cheers!!!!

                              Greetings xbpians!!

I booked my rs200 (yellow abs) on saturday 4th July at Hyderabad, Deccan Motors. He told me that the bike would be delivered in 10 days( I thought it might be his marketing tactic to keep the customer interested or something like that), but was surprised to get a call today from the dealer to pick up the bike from showroom!!
I've been following this post since its inception and have read about people saying the booking period of RS esp. yellow one b/w 30-45 days!! But now the delivery time has actually been reduced by Bajaj!! kudos to them !!

Treat to the Eyes..Especially For You Guys Who Haven't Still Received Their RS..

My first two pictures with my Yellow Bride:

And before I get nasty comments for driving an unregistered vehicle, know that I photoshopped the number plate. Though why I did it still remains a mystery to me. Just that I have seen many other members do it.

Anyway, my Bride looks stunning and we as a couple look very good indeed (at least to my eyes). I badly want to go on a sweet short ride with her, but that would be possible only after I get free from my busy schedule. Will be posting some more pics next week.

A question - My first service is still 400KM away. But my friend, who owns an AS200, suggested me to change the oil and the oil filter after completing the first 300KMS. Should I? And why should I?

Really? That seems to be a good news. You are one lucky RS owner I'd say!
