I will little differ over this opinion. You can only feel the difference in long term when your engine responds to you aptly along with a smoother throttle response. I used Speed on my R15 for 2 years and the Engine was always butter smooth like any new. I continued for sometime on my CBR too but later discontinued for the only reason that many filling stations sold the same normal petrol in name of Speed.

Speed in combination with Motul 10w30 double ester really works magic for your Engine. You got to try it for couple of times (at least 6 months) to opine on the effect anyway.

I can understand your feeling... I am 5'11" tall and I can touch the ground exactly with straight legs, at the same moment I thought of the people of average height. But one thing is after 3-4 months your seat softens up and it will be lowered by 1" definitely and when you wear proper boots you can easily make the ground. Don't worry too much about it, try to get comfortable and in no time you will ignore this problem.

I dropped my rs today accidentally , it fell on its left side and the clutch lever broke ,and the gear shifting lever got bent inward so now its impossible to go to gear 1 (max it goes to is neutral and 2nd and above) no other things happened . my carbon fiber also took a hit but hardly noticeable but my clutch lever and gear lever are very badly broken ,i will have to replace them . Luckily i am able to start the bike in 2nd gear.Does any1 have any idea how much it will cost to replace the clutch lever and unbend the gear lever?? I have posted the photos.

          Hi

so sad to hear about the drop.
My AS200 also fell on left side and the clutch lever broke!! Nothing else took a hit, thankfully.
When i took it to the service centre, i was shocked to hear that they did not have the clutch lever (actually they didnt have any spares) for AS200, but the clutch lever of the NS200 is a direct fit on AS200 so should fit the RS200 as well. It is 'Minda' make and I was charged Rs 140/- for the replacement.

The mech who worked on my bike seemed to be struggling to remove the old one. Thats when another mech told him to remove the 'dibbi' right next to the lever after which the replacement was possible.

thanks for the information ,i was just browsing the internet for clutch levers and they were all 900-4000 rupees . Good to know the bajaj guys change it and give it for 140 rupees(phew what a relief). Would you have any idea how much it will cost to unbend the gear shifter ?? Also would you know any good authorized dealer near chembur area as my rs doesnt go to 1st gear due to the gear lever bend so i dont want to try my luck by taking it somewhere far like andheri west but at the same time dont want to risk people fiddling and doing things they dont know. Thanks in advance . Its sad that in just 1 drop the bike got damaged so much ,they should have put sturdier levers for the bike .The carbon fiber barely got a scratch but the levers got bent/broken.

Sad to hear about the bike drop... Not a Pulsar owner but can relate to it completely. Dropped my new FZ the very first day I took it out and suffered the same fate- broken clutch lever, bent gear shifter and not to mention a slightly bent handlebar. Yamaha do have a competent set of mechanics and all three issues were resolved promptly.

Coming back to the quality of clutch / brake levers, I think most locally manufactured bikes source them from the same provider, Minda. The quality is actually not that bad and they are built in a way that in case of a drop impact, the rounded tip takes all the pounding and breaks off. This way the lever remains usable and the bike can still be easily driven around. Looks bad but remains functional.

The clutch levers you noticed on the internet are of the adjustable type which are made out of billeted steel / good grade aluminium- Hence the higher cost. Been using a pair for almost a year now and will surely never shift back to stock levers, such is the quality and 'shifting comfort' they provide. Not to mention the great looks. Although I have no clue if using them voided my warranty or not (I couldn't care less &#128513

There are several reasons for weak levers bro. The most important is its designed with weak areas to ensure other parts get minimal damage. For example, when falling down, if there is enough force and the lever(low cost) is strong, the brunt has to be taken by the pin or mountings or the clipons, all of which are costly. Moreover, the levers are the ones to make initial contact with the ground. So they take the most beating.
Regarding the gear lever, try to remove the bend and use it. Depending on the fall, it may not require a replacement as it's no severely bent. Proper mending can bring it to normal shape.

Glad to be of help. No idea about the gear lever. I stay in chandigarh/solan so cant say about mumbai.

I think its good that the lever broke. It took all the impact. If they had a stronger lever and it did not break then the impact could have damaged something else. like the much more costly carbon fibre panels. I think its like a fuse,a small easily repairable thing breaks to save the more important things. you could also think of it like the crumple zones in cars. so i am very happy that the lever took all the impact and saved the rest of the bike.

I have been hearing a lot about carbon fibre in the bike.. but I highly doubt that Bajaj used any carbon fibre in RS 200 as carbon fibre is a damn costly material. It must be just some high quality plastic with self design.

I think the saree guard does come useful when mounting bags and limiting the damage to the bike when it falls sideways, i dont think its actually useful for the saree protection though. Anyway i went to the bajaj service center near my house in chembur they are much much better than the amboli andheri service center people for 1 they actually listen to you and explain to you everything . It cost me 88 rupees to change the clutch lever and total came to 140 rupees (which included labor for clutch replacement and gear shifter straightening )+ they had 2 rs which people had crashed and were repairing so i felt relief as that means they have handles rs before.I stood there for 20 mins they did everything infront of me and gave the bike 2 me for testing ,i found the clutch lever to be 2 downward facing so i asked them to make it more parallel with respect to the ground they did it and now i find it 2 be better than the stock position !!!!!!. I asked them what would be the cost for changing the gear shifter ,they said it would be roughly around 200 rupees to change the whole shifter. My mudguard also i will probably get it replaced from them only also will do the 2nd and 3rd free service from them as i get a feeling they dont seem like cheats like the amboli area and dont waste time and are near my house.Feeling happy i ended up dropping my bike !!!!! I have uploaded the new photos of the replaced clutch lever and the repaired gear shifter. Now only thing left is to find where people do wheel alignment and check if mine is proper or not(mostly 95% i am sure its proper but just want to verify it). I have also put the chain slack measurements up . I wanted to ask i went for servicing roughly 1-2 days ago and they adjusted my chain slack to 25mm mark but now on its own within 2 days its roughly at 28 mm mark ,is this normal???

Finally Got Hands on my RS200 ABS Version...

Booking Date: 6th June - Delivery Date: 6th July... 30 rest less days and 30 dreamy nights of waiting...

Drove 15kms from Showroom to Home. Surprisingly I got the bike at Odometer reading of 1KM

                            Initial Feedback:
                            1. Stunner Looks. Grabbed many eye balls, especially of girls...
                            2. Earns respect. Pune is one of the city with worst traffic sense, they just insert their vehicle where there is a gap, but today people were waiting for me to pass on
                            3. Controlling RPM is very hard. Almost drove around 2500 to 4500 RPM all the way with full consciousness.
                            4. Hard on hands, only clutch lever. My fingers started paining after 5kms.
                            5. Hard suspension. I could feel every pot hole on the road.
                            6. Thud sound is still there when you go on a bump >15kmph.
                            7. I didn't like the foot pegs, especially the one which supports gear foot. It was not at all stationery.
                            8. Finding neutral is easier when compared to other Bajaj bikes.
                            9. No proper space under the pillion seat. Not even for documents it seems.
                            10. I could fee the heat after 9-10 kms, but this might be the problem for initial days only.
                            11. Lights spread is good. Both low beam and high beam works really well.

Can't wait to get over the run-in period.
