    2. The idling is almost near to 2k. Is it possible to reduce it? I asked in SV, but that person didn't know that and told me its not possible in this bike. Has anyone tried to reduce it?

    3. Is there a reserve switch like in older pulsars in RS? I didn't find it in my RS. Let me know if it is present.

    Thanks in Advance!
    1. Had the same issue during run in period. Not any more
    2. Having the same issue of idle being around 2k. Got the same reply from SVC. Will check during second service and let you know.
    3. There's no reserve switch in a fuel injected bike.

I think this is normal. The fan starts if the bike is driven in 1st/2nd gear in traffic. This is a common phenomenon with most faired bikes.

      2. The idling is almost near to 2k. Is it possible to reduce it? I asked in SV, but that person didn't know that and told me its not possible in this bike. Has anyone tried to reduce it?
I don't think it could be reduced by any mechanic because of the FI system. This could be done only at the service station where the ECU would be readjusted. But I am not very sure about this. Maybe seniors could shed some light over this issue.

Nope. This feature is not available in FI bikes. When in reserve, the fuel symbol near the fuel indicator starts blinking.

      Thanks in Advance!
Reply in bold. I am not sure about the second point. Could somebody help on this issue? My bike stalls sometimes after starting if I do not give some throttle.

BTW my idle is about 1.4k which increases to 1.7 k in about 3-4 sec.

Strange. My bike never stalls when idling after starting, even if I leave it for a minute or so. So I never felt the need to touch the throttle while idling.

The funny thing is that it never happens after a cold start. If I drive for some time, stop the engine and start after a while, this happens sometimes.

Hey guys, The fuel gauge on my RS is really confusing me!

Yesterday evening, there were only last two bars showing on the fuel meter, so I headed to the fuel station and got 7 litres filled in. After that, the fuel gauge was almost showing full. It required only a bar or two to indicate a full tank.

What's happening? Does anybody have an idea? How much measure of fuel does each bar indicate? How much petrol is left in the tank when there are no bars left in the indicator?

My calculation is that the last two bars must be worth 4 litres, so after filling-in 7 litres of fuel, the tank became 11 litres full and the rest one bar indicated the last 2 litres of fuel.

            Am I wrong? Any idea??

Fuel gauges are almost never accurate especially digital ones... Same happened with me... When I took the delivery of the bike with 3ltrs of petrol, two bars were there on the reading. I fill the tank with Rs.500 petrol and bam!!! the meter is almost full (2 or 3 bars left to be full)

On Hit-and-Trial I found that, when you have just hit the last two bars , there is petrol of almost 4lts and rest is a mystery

                Hi,
I too have faced this issue. I started to get burning smell from engine after my first service. I took it to the same service center and per the mechanic it was due to the chain. It was very tight and the engine was taking the pressure hence, he fixed it. After that I never faced that issue. But during afternoon ride I face a bit heat at the right foot peg.

                  Hello Everyone,

Last Friday i got my Pulsar RS 200 ABS in Yellow color. Well my experience with Bajaj Authorized Dealer Sai Service Ltd wasn't good but i'm not going to talk about that. I was in love with this beautiful machine with Bumble Bee Looks (Only in Yellow Color). I have Pulsar 180 also but RS 200 is smoother, more aggressive and extremely good looking bike in India motorcycle market. I have rode around 200 km only and have never gone above 5k RPM just to get used to it because after riding Pulsar 180 there is a big difference in riding RS 200. Currently i have not found any issues in the bike, except Thump!!! kind of sound from front suspension or may be from fairing. I'm not able to identify from where this sound is coming. Soon i will complete 500 km and send my bike for first servicing and will rectify the issue.
                  I'm attaching pics.

This bike's a darn looker, that's a given. Yellow and black combo looks great. Congrats on your purchase.

A black RS200 has been spotted in a spy pic, flaunting a black-and-gold colour scheme. Sources say that it has been spotted at a dealership, so maybe Bajaj will be rolling it out to the public soon.

My Opinion: Frankly speaking, I was angry at Bajaj for not rolling out a black variant, but looking at this picture, I'm happy that they didn't do it earlier. The black looks sexy, but the golden streaks make it look cheap in my opinion, thus making such a special bike look not so special.

There is a possibility that it may be looking dull in the pictures but might be a real beast in flesh! There are people who may love it more than the dashing yellow variant.

I'm sure most of us would have loved a complete black one, one without the golden streaks (just like the older Pulsars). Also, I think an after-market matte black paint job will look better than this. But hey, that's just my opinion; it's totally subjective.

What do you guys think about this black-and-gold RS200?

One more observation: The fuel indicator shows one bar lower than actual after the bike is pulled from side stand. So, to get more accurate reading, drive for a while and then look at the fuel indicator.

I have a theory behind the decision of Bajaj not launching this bike in black color. It might or might not be true, so please bear with me

I think that Bajaj opted not to launch RS in black because they wanted the bike to stand out in crowd. If it were launched in black, a good percentage of buyers would have opted for it and then the black RS would not look very different from other black super bikes. In terms of differentiation, the yellow and red color really stands out much like the orange color of the KTM Dukes. Maybe that's the reason only Red and Yellow colors and not other 'matured' colors are launched to reinforce the sporty character of the bike that Bajaj wants to highlight.

Fuel indicator was a joke..Yesterday i rode the bike with zero bars for around 12 kilo meters.. But today morning it showed two bars while starting later it went to one bar in few meters.. dont rely on it much..

Agree. Even if they would have launched THIS BLACK version. I would have bought Yellow one because of the perfect blend and contrast of the colours. RS has so many muscular cuts that dark on dark colors will make it look flat. That's the reason I opted for Yellow over red as well. After two years may be I will go for classic black paint job to make it more interesting. IMO.

When I took my bike, SVC guys asked me to have at least 3 liters of petrol for proper engine functioning. Also I read somewhere that FI engines break big time when they run out of fuel. Make sure you keep your bike safe buddy..
