Firstly, how much change will it make from shifting to low weight bike to a heavy weight, doest it make impact on control, braking and other stuffs, given the fact i am learner!!

Secondly, how come i will know while buying that it is the latest batch of their factory production (where they have solved the recent defects being encountered by the owners in initial phase of launch)?
I would strongly suggest to go for the ABS version. Safety before anything!

Shifting from low weight bike to a high weight bike will make difference only while you are at slow speed/parking. That too only for first few weeks, after that you wil get accustomed to the bike. Not a big deal if you are > 5'6" in height.

Regarding the second point, there really is no way to find out if the earlier glitches have been rectified or not. Reagrding the latest model, rest assured that you will get the latest batch because of high demand of the bike being more than the production. So, they will not have old ones in stock at all

I got my yellow beast yesterday...
        1. realized a low thud sound on speed breakers...anything to worry about?

        2. came to know that there is no reserve as it is FI.
Also, the showroom guy told me that bike won't run if petrol < 2.5lt (I was shocked)
Is it true? How to know when we should fill petrol?

            1. Lower your speed before going on speed brakers

            2. The bike will defonately run even if petrol < 2.5 L. But avoid that at any cost as the FI system will get destroyed if bike is run with low fuel. I run to the petrol pump when there are two bars remaining and get the tank full.

Eleanor: The Story of my bike.

Skipping the boring part where just like most others I started looking for an upgrade from a long time commuter, in my case Bajaj XCD 135 DTSi, and ended up choosing the Pulsar RS 200, one fine day, somewhere in March I decided to book the bike as soon as it was launched. But I had a recent job change and my pocket was not so heavy. My heart was like 'hoo hoo I'm gonna buy a new bike'. But my brain was like 'STFU, you're not'. Brain wins. So I decided to give it time so I could save some money.

Fast forward, mid June and I'm still saving. To be honest, nothing much had changed. The best I could save was few pics of the RS200 on my desktop, downloaded from internet and nothing more. Suddenly on 25th June, 2015 I get a mail from my previous employer that Rs.xxxxxx amount has been credited to your account as per your PF withdrawal after deducting TAX. 'Bloody Damn it! I asked them to transfer my PF amount to new PF account. But these guys had processed a withdrawal'. But wait a minute, this is a sign! The universe is trying to communicate with me. It wants to me buy the RS [emoji13] Great!.

26th June, 2015 - I decide to book the bike. I go to KLN Bajaj, Anna Nagar, Chennai. They said waiting period is 45 days. I was like 'Whaaaaaat?'. Isn't it 30 days? But no it was strict 45 to 60. After doing round abouts in few other dealers I came back home disappointed. Everyone says 45 - 60 days uninanimously. I did some googling and found few other dealers around, called them up and one sales executive at Mohteej Bajaj, Kattupakkam said he could try to give in 30 days. Of the lot that I inquired, it sounded the best deal. But still, I kept aksing if he could quicken that up. He was decent enough to say if he gets the lot early, he'll give it. 27th June, 2015 my father and I reach there in my father's Activa and pay the booking advance for RS 200, ABS, Yellow. 'Yipee! booked the bike!'. [emoji4]

Two weeks from the booking date, I got a call from the sales person again. He said he got a lot yesterday with 5 Red RS 200 and asked if I would be interested. I told him 'No, I want yellow.' But he was trying to convince me that Red looks much better than yellow and asked me to think and say the next day. Now this made me a bit confused. I have seen both yellow and red; in showroom and on roads. To be honest, Red looks a tad bit better than yellow in person. Also the wait for yellow might take longer and I did not want to wait longer. I was in dilemma whether to take the Red or wait for Yellow. My brain is convinced to take Red but my heart stuck with Yellow. Again, I googled people's opinion, and asked my friends and family. At the end, most of them were like 'Get the Red'. And so, I decided to wait for the Yellow. It's a cruel world. Not always your heart wins over your brain and I wanted to give this to that little bugger. [emoji5]

The next day, 8th July, I called up the dealer and told him that I wanted only Yellow. He said 'OK, the vehicle is available, please pay the remaining amount'. I was like 'Whaaaat?'. Yesterday, he said 'No Yellow' and today he says 'Yes, Yellow'. Anyway, I was simply happy. Same evening, I went to the showroom and paid the balance amount. But delivery was not to be done. This vehicle will be delivered only after registration and I had to wait for one more week until registration. 'Ok, I've waited this long, what's there n one more week.' [emoji20] It hurts. Still! One week done. I called on 15th July. But registration not done yet for whole lot of reasons. Registration to be done on Friday. I called up on friday, it was pushed to Monday. And again I called on Monday, the registration is pushed to Tuesday. This time was harsh and he confirmed that I could take delivery on Tuesday evening and I was going to escalate if he hadn't. [emoji35]

Tuesday, 21st July, I called called him again. This time, he said 'Registration done. You can take the vehicle!' I was over the moons, the moment I heard those words. I was going to get the bike the evening. But my dad had some other work elsewhere. So he asked me to go take the bike alone. I wanted my dad to be with me when I'm getting the new bike. So, I postponed it to the next day. After all, I had already waited so long and what's one more day. I called the dealer and said I'll take the bike next day.

Wednesday, 22nd July. I was at my office eagerly waiting for the day to end. I wanted to leave early to take the bike. 4 PM, I jumped out of my seat and went out only to be welcomed by the dark and gloomy evening. People in Chennai would know how suddenly the sky turned dark. It was as dark as night. On any other day, I would have loved to see those dark clouds but not today. And still I was hoping it wouldn't rain. I was too optimistic. It rained cats and dogs. It's 5 PM and it is still raining. The showroom is open only till 7 PM. I have to go home, pick my dad and go to the showroom which was another 10 Kms from my home. I started at 5.30 PM, drove through the rain, reached home at 6 PM. But my dad wasn't ready to ride through the rain. So we headed out with umberellas, took a bus and an auto, to at last reach the showroom 7 PM exactly. It was drizzling a bit.

I was shocked to see my bike, standing out in rain. They were like, 'We just got it out and it started to drizzle.' I anyway had to drive it through the rain. I really don't see the point in arguing that it was in rain. Did all the formalities, they wiped clean the vehicle, filled with 1.5L of petrol and I quickly inspected the vehicle. They were all rushing to go home, you see, and it was drizzling outside. After everything, I started off the vehicle with my dad sitting behind. He was holding the two umbrellas folded and he couldn't balance well behind. I drove 10 Kms from showroom to home, stopping for a small pooja in temple in between. It was drizzling all way and I thought 'Okay, let me test the ABS on wet roads'. Below are my first impressions in the short 10 Kms drive.

                First Impressions:

                1. Bike is really heavy. I'm 90 Kg, 6 ft. I felt it was heavy to push it around. Hope to get used to it soon.
                2. I haven't yet got the knack of adjusting the RVM. I don't know about others but I feel clueless without RVM.
                3. Gears are super smooth. Not sure if it is because I come from XCD 135.
                4. The blue LCD is really cool.
                5. I could feel little vibrations. I was driving around 3.5k to 5k RPM.
                6. Front brake is awesome. I mean, I drove only 10 Kms and I could feel I was braking more freely on wet roads.
                7. Rear brake, not so good. No feedback at all.
                8. Pot holes, bumps - the bike handles everything well.
                9. My palms were aching. Not sure if have to adjust my seating posture. Hopefully, I'll figure out.
                10. The Radiator fan kicked in 5 times in the 10 Kms I drove and I could feel the heat and engine oil smell when it does.

After all this, doing the pooja, I brought home the bike at last [emoji4] , 'Eleanor', drenched, lower half of the bike covered in dirt.

P.S.: I'm in office writing this post while my bike is at home [emoji20]

Sorry for the long post. Here's a pic of a potato. Oops! Few pics of the bike [emoji4]

Good that you held on to your heart and got the Yellow one instead of the showroom guy pushing you for the Red. Happened with me too.

                    1. You will get accustomed to the weight in a few days.
                    3. Smoothest Pulsar till date. Yes, it's smooth, and will get smoother after a few oil changes/servicing.
                    5. Vibrations pop-in between 4.5k to 5k RPM only.
                    6. Yes, the brakes are very good.
                    7. Read 6. I don't have any issues with the rear brake. Anyway, most of the braking is done with the front brakes.
                    9. The pain will go away in a few days as you ride the bike more and more.
                    10. It's normal for fully-faired sports bikes to get heated quickly.

All in all, hearty congratulations buddy for becoming the owner of such an awesome bike!

Just now experienced the thud when bike goes in pot hole.... My previous Pulsar 150 also behaves in the same way. Problem is with suspension? i read somewhere that it is because of the plastic that shock absorber is attached too.. i guess the problem is with the suspension itself..
Also i have a query regarding helmet. Off road helmets are good for street riding..?

it looks cool but review says In high speed helmet may tend to lift due to wind.. Is it true? Should i go for Street helmet instead?

Did anyone purchase their bike from Sai service Borivali or Sai service Andheri in Mumbai and if so how much did one end up paying for the non abs version. The reason im asking this question is because i ended u paying a total of 1,46,000. I checked the octroi bill and saw a combined octroi of multiple bikes. I have no idea how much octroi they paid for my bike. Does anyone know how much octroi did sai service mumbai charge them and did i get charged too much for the non abs version. PS: I purchased the bike on loan(bajaj finance) and made a down payment of 37,000 and loan amt approved was 1,09,000 which totals to 1,46,000.

I bought my bike in Chennai (I know the comparison is going to be inaccurate). It is an ABS version and it costed me Rs.1.495L. There was a 13k difference between ABS and non-ABS version. So non-ABS version was quoted for around Rs.1.36L. It was including all taxes and everything - (full on-road price).
