Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Bang on! These are not DRL but Parking lights. DRL are supposed to run all the time and are mandatory in a few European countries like Finland.Originally posted by Satyajit Marik View PostHey guyz ..I have a small doubt. The Drls on RS doesnt run all the time, means to turn them on you have to turn on taillight, dashboard light and switch backlight lights. But doesnot the drls have to run all the time with engine on and without putting on any switch, like tvs apache ? So is it actually parking light in the name of drls ?Riding a bike is like flying.... Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Here's a few brief points on a recent road trip I did on the bike. (Do bullet points even work?)
+450 km up and down with 250 bikes.
Full tank left with 3 points on the gauge when I reached the destination.
+70kph at all times throughout the whole tour.
No performance issues.
No health issues except for a slight lower back pain due to my seating space limited by the bag tied onto the rear seat.
152kph on the straight along side a CBR600RR and a Husqvarna 450SMR. Bike chokes if I try to push it any further.
Seamless performance compared to Japanese and European bikes.
BRIGHTEST HEADLIGHTS. O_O
Reached 130kph (with pillion) on a dirt/muddy (basically a MX track) and raced against two Yamaha WR250F dirt bikes and two Suzuki SB Trackers(Supermotard).
I DO NOT RECOMMEND RIDING IN THE REAR SEAT. EVER. I'D RATHER HIT MY HEAD WITH A SHOVEL CONTINUOUSLY. (On bumpy roads mostly)
Girls, women and older women (If you're into it) fall for the bike instantly. (Uh muh gad CBR!!)
Handling, grip and cornering is excellent. Getting better at cornering with my knee down!
Worth every cent.
10/10 would recommend Pulsar RS200.

152 kph?. That's never possible, however considering the speedo error(6%) the true speed would be 141/142kph. But don't try on a dirt track with these tire profile and without full abs. Had an action camera, please post video.Originally posted by xLegateChase View PostHere's a few brief points on a recent road trip I did on the bike. (Do bullet points even work?)

But you have had a wonderful experience... Congrats. 250 bike, how did you guys drive without hitting traffic...
By the way, did the cbr600rr guy give his bike for a ride?, man that would have been a cold blooded killer [emoji14] [emoji7] worth asking [emoji14]Last edited by jbm_guy; 01-01-2016, 06:25 PM.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Thanks man. I had no idea about that, but however 152kph was on the screen by the time I lifted my head up to see how fast I was going. I guess the slight downhill slope helped. I couldn't get past more than that without the bike choking(?). And about the dirt track, yes I was scared sh*tless riding pillion in the back with my lunatic of a friend working the bike through the slippery, pot hole filled maze of a road. And unfortunately I don't have an action camera, not yet, but I'm hoping to buy one soon what with all the action around. Lol. I do have a few more pictures on my phone but it's sent for repairs. I'll update as soon as I can.Originally posted by jbm_guy View Post152 kph?. That's never possible, however considering the speedo error(6%) the true speed would be 141/142kph. 250 bikes yes, we were accompanied by the traffic police of each region and given a personal ambulance and a carrier truck incase any breakdowns occur. Most of us split in groups and rode with whoever was best to ride with. But we did have a few accidents, mostly caused by road rage, like a van swerving in on purpose to hit a Ducati Monster 848. Luckily no damages were done except for the van driver's face. Haha. Like I said it was all road rage nothing more.
The 600rr is my friend's and I wasn't bothered to ask for a ride since my legs were kind of having a mind of their own and all they could do was try and make me walk, sit or fall to the ground. Haha. Thanks again man, it truly was a great experience and was also my first time running that much of a distance. Hoping for a tour again soon.
Here's a picture of my rear end and 4 of the bikes of my crew.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
that's nice bag placement. did you keep it like this for some part of this trip and did it work well? I also want to look at this way of keeping bag during my weekend rides.Originally posted by xLegateChase View PostThanks man. Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
[IMG][/IMG]I had problem with the RPM meter needle.
It malfunctioned and later was half out..
But got it replaced with new unit under warranty. Now things are fine.
Also few things about my daemon black:
1. Suspension needs to be tweaked according to roads. Mine was too hard, but got it fixed.
2. Gear shift from 2nd to 3rd is bit hard. This might be due to new engine.
3. The bike reached 141kmph as max speed for me. (As of now)
4. After changing engine oil, you can black ppt coming out of the exhaust.
5. 2nd and 3rd gear are most powerful, you can feel the kick. In 3rd gear i could easily hit 84kmph.
This is really a monster. I completed 513 KMS in 3 days and got my first servicing done

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Does the RS200 also require SHIM replacements? I assume it uses SHIMs? Some clarification would be helpful. ThanksOriginally posted by jbm_guy View PostTappet clearance is a must to do. Because failing and living with it, will cause so many problems mainly like
1. Engine vibration
2. The tick tick irritating sound, will continue to increase over time. More gap, more sound
3. Poor mileage
4. Engine noise and harshness.
Tappet adjustments for Pulsar needs to be done atleast every 10K KMs, because of the engine's high compression ratio plus, the SOHC housing. It wasn't the case with Duke. Bajaj should have given a thought about that. I had that issue with my Disco, during that time, the sound and noise were bothering so much. Finally i ended up changing the valve, plus several other parts.
Please don't push it for longer duration. If required, let your bike there (if the svc is good) because they need to do it only when the engine is cold. Hence it will take time and you already know how svc are running these days, plus give it on weekdays like Tuesday.
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
This is how the tappet sound will come out
You can hear that during idling and at low rpms. Usually at high RPM, with your helmet+air+traffic, you may not be able to hear it. But the clearance increases slowly and the firing order becomes uncontrollable at high RPM (meaning the timing chain will start to vary), which will result in unwanted jerk, loss of power, engine shutdown (not sure, havent seen anyone complained) etc. Don't try to attempt yourself as this is not an easier job, plus you need gauges to adjust this. Best bet is, wait for some time. Then one weekday, give your bike and let it be until they fix this. Otherwise, if your service is due anytime soon, then consider doing it at that time

Thanks. I kept it that way throughout the whole tour, I found it to be in the most comfortable place when it came to the seating position and the bike's handling.Originally posted by nayan_jindal View Postthat's nice bag placement. did you keep it like this for some part of this trip and did it work well? Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Nope, RS200 doesnt have Shims, it has regular nut/bolt gap clearance system found in all bikes.Originally posted by judebrent View PostDoes the RS200 also require SHIM replacements? I assume it uses SHIMs? Some clarification would be helpful. Thanks

I believe this setup is due to SOHC when compared to DOHC setted up Cbr250rOriginally posted by marmiteminer View PostNope, RS200 doesnt have Shims, it has regular nut/bolt gap clearance system found in all bikes.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Yes, thats why Bajaj recommends frequent tappet adjustments say every 5000kms. Extracting 24 horses from a SOHC seems a bit high, same goes for 150as. CBR150 on the other hand pulls 17ps while keeping up the tappet clearance consistently longer durations having DOHC. But R15 having SOHC doesn't have much complaints here.Originally posted by sanjaysangar1990 View PostI believe this setup is due to SOHC when compared to DOHC setted up Cbr250r

This reveals the Bajaj quality which is evident for cost reduction. So no wonder why this issue pops up with few month old bikes. But the main concern is, svcv ignore this sh**t.
