Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
After riding P220F, a 150 cc bike might seem very underpowered to you. Think about that aspect too.Originally posted by manas.giri View PostHello Members,
You all are well experienced, I want your suggestions, I am planning to buy a Bike (My Previous bike was Pulsar 180 , Pulsar 220 F) , My selections are Pulsar Rs 200, Yamaha YZF R15 and Honda CBR 150R. By seeing all the complaints i am worried whether i should keep Pulsar in my top of the list or not. My drives are mostly in city. The Second contender is Yamaha R15, Honda CBR is also in my choice but in bangalore, all dealers ask for 30 - 45 days waiting period. Hence my focus stays on Pulsar or Yamaha. Any suggestion would help me taking right decision.
Again Yamaha R15 also people says not suitable for city ride due to sporty seating style. Suggest ...
Shall i wait 1 month and go for Honda CBR?
Thanks for your time and suggestions in advance.
Specifically, leave out CBR150. It is highly overpriced and is quite outdated too.
R15 is a good bike but with a sporty riding position. Your wrist and back will pain in the beginning but if you are reasonably fit, you'll get used to the riding position. I know a lot of people who faced similar problems initially but with time, they were fine.
R15-S is again a good bike but will definitely seem underpowered to you. Also, IMO it is quite dated.
RS200 is value for money. You get more than you pay for: both power, style and security (ABS). But the engine is not butter smooth as CBR250/R3 and there can be little vibes in fairing and footpegs. Personally, I have been lucky enough not to face any minor issues in the 1+ year of ownership. If you can live with minor niggles here and there, go for it.
Last disclaimer: People in this forum have already made their decision to buy this bike in past. So, their (and mine too) recommendation will be biased towards RS200. Try posting this query in What Bike section. There you'll get more unbiased opinions.Riding a bike is like flying.... All your senses are alive...

Yesterday my bike' instrumentcluster failed to respond after I turned the ignition switch it didn't respond immediately I am shocked and worried abt it.
If its getting severe then I'd say visit SVC as early as possible if you are facing so much problems. I faced the noise only for the initial days but never after 15 days of purchase.I look best when I take my helmet off, I have a glow on my face and a bit of helmet hair ;)

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Guys, met with an accident yesterday evening. A Mahindra pickup Truck Took a Left abruptly and i rammed into it from back and fell. He ran away before anyone could catch.
I was wearing jeans, Denim jacket, Gloves, helmet, hence managed to escaped without a scratch.
But my Beauty's front fairing and Right DRL got damaged.
Any Idea frenz... How much should it cost to restore its glory??

Hope you're alright bro. I met with a similar accident a few weeks ago as well.Originally posted by Axiyan View PostGuys, met with an accident yesterday evening. A Mahindra pickup Truck Took a Left abruptly and i rammed into it from back and fell. He ran away before anyone could catch.

An auto rikshaw swerved and made a sudden right without indicating while I was overtaking him. He smashed into me from the left side. Thankfully I managed to keep the bike upright (it didn't fall!) But took the impact on my left hand. My fingers are swollen and it won't go away. Will have to consult a doctor soon.
My front fairing, clutch lever, gear lever, upper left fairing and the instrument cluster surrounding plastic parts are damaged.
I was told the front fairing costs 4000 Rs. I don't know what else you need to replace, I'll be heading to the SVC tomorrow, I can check the price of some part if necessary.
Happy riding.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hi Guys,
I got Yellow RS200 from Sai Service Bajaj Aundh Yesterday. Its a beauty

I did a test Ride from the Showroom to the Aundh -Ravet Rode. It was great.
then I filled the tank full and went for the highway(Mumbai - Bangalore Highway). My bad luck, there was huge traffic.
I had to keep the RS only in 1st and 2nd gears.
The thing I observed was the part near my thighs got heated up(I think there is the engine) and wierd noises started(is this of radiator?)
Is the Heating Normal?
And Also the Fairing also gives some noise.
Will Go the showroom today and will ask.

I was lucky to escape without an injury or even a scratch.
If possible collect the costs of the following from SVC guys:
1) front fairing (right side)
2) DRL (pilot lamp)
3) black plastic surround the instrument console.
Btw, Today I am going to checkout these parts in Chor bazar, mumbai. There one can get all cars and bike accessories and spare parts at low price. Will let you know according.
Ride Hard, ride safe. Cheers.

Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
I hope you are alright, coming to damage which I can see is headlamp assembly, instrument cluster side parts and DRLs have to be replaced. One question is rear view mirror broken or were not installed. If not installed then get it installed you will have no idea what's come from behind and if it's broken add to the damaged list. Damage could be more but from seeing picture I have listed major damages.Originally posted by Axiyan View PostGuys, met with an accident yesterday evening. On to the bike, keeping the bike for prolonged periods in 1st and 2nd gears will cause the engine to heat up faster.
If the wierd sound you mentioned sounds like a desert cooler coming on, be at peace my friend because you have a radiator doing its job due to heat being generated.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
You are lucky you got away with just damage to your bike and with some heartburn. Glad you are safe my friend. Apart from what Chandan92 has mentioned you may want to get the front suspension checked for any misalignment. Its a fragile piece and the slightest of untoward shocks could misalign them causing ride quality to deteriorate.Originally posted by Axiyan View PostGuys, met with an accident yesterday evening. Thanks Gaurav for wishes
'On to the bike, keeping the bike for prolonged periods in 1st and 2nd gears will cause the engine to heat up faster.'
means in heavy traffic it will burn me more
Anything you know that I can do for less heat to be generated?(like adding another coolant (which I can change after 1st Service) or others)
yes , the sound was sort of desert cooler and also from fairing.

Heating is absolutely normal if you ride in traffic in 1st or 2nd gear. The noise you hear is of the radiator fan doing it's job keeping the engine cool. Do read the owner's manual carefully and try to read this thread from the beginning. You'll find a lot of answers here.
Fairing noise is also normal you just need to tighten the fairing screws (you'll find an Allen key in the tool kit provided under the pillion seat) so the noise goes away.
Cheers!
I did go to the doc and got an X-Ray scan as well. Thankfully no broken bones. Just need to massage the area regularly.Originally posted by Axiyan View PostHi bro, you should hav consulted a doctor immediately. Swellings should be treated at the earliest.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Thanks. U are ryt bro, damages are just the front fairing, drl and plastic surrounding the console. The bike and the materials used are quiet sturdy. Believed it after the accident.Originally posted by Chandan92 View PostI hope you are alright, coming to damage which I can see is headlamp assembly, instrument cluster side parts and DRLs have to be replaced. I have bar-end mirrors bro.
I wear basic gears even for a short ride. Helmet, Jacket, jeans and gloves saved me from bruises.
Have a look at the at the deep scratches of my gloves, otherwise which wud hav been on my palms.
Cheers.
