Last week I ran the bike in rain for 45mins around 30-40kmph. Last two days I was riding in slow moving traffic with frequent gear change. Today I rode it on outer ring road and felt some vibration. Now gear shifting (up/down) felt slightly hard and takes time to bring the neutral.

My questions are,
Recently I have cleaned my chain 400kms before. Do I need to clean and lube the chain? OR
Do I need to replace the oil? After oil change, I have run the bike for 3000Kms. I am using Motul 7100 20W50.

This week only I am facing this problem.

Thanks

I dont think so there might be issue with the engine oil. I have been using the same oil and done 4200 kms. The bike is running fine and smooth. I'd suggest go with cleaning and lubing the chain as you rode in rains, there might be dust and dirt. hope this helps !
I look best when I take my helmet off, I have a glow on my face and a bit of helmet hair ;)

Hey guys planing to buy a 200cc. And I must say rs200 has grown on me especially the Demon Black. Now I've researched a lot about this. Somethings do concern me. Listed below.
1)cheap quality parts. Have read a lot of comments on different forum that things starts to break after a month or two. Is it true ?
2)vibration. Read that it vibrates a lot compared to other 200 cc bikes like duke, rc200 due to its fairing quality and bolts.
3)riding in cities is mere pain because its way too heavy.
4)engine is basically crap after an year or so.

So, rs200 owners, are these claims true and you had to live with it ? Or they are just blatant lies to bring the name down ?
Please do reply guys as I'm going to spend my own hard earned money and I don't wanna make a bad choice.

I'm a decent rider in cities n highways both(friends have told me). Hardly go over 40-50 in cities and 80-100 in highways, which means I'm below those range most of the times. Basically I don't ride like teenage junkie.

I have the same set of questions as scooby_dooooo here.

Now I have kept a fall back option as the avenger 220 street as like both equally, well the RS200 a tad bit more.

P.S previously I was interested in the karizma ZMR 2014, and I still am, but by the time I buy (Jan 2017) it will be too old, therefore the RS or the Street.

so please share your experiences, Long term users.

IF you scan through the thread You will find my posts which answer your questions but anyways here is my take on my 6 months of ownership.Mind you this is my first bike, used a car as my main mode of transport.I will list down the -points or negatives since the positives are well known to you.

The RS200 will be almost a year since it was launched. As its normally seen, the first lot of bikes have small issues which get ironed out in subsequent iterations. Please go through the Yamaha R3 thread and see for yourself the issues being faced.

The major niggles i faced in 6 months are:
1. Battery drained once at 600km, never occurred again.
2. interment starting issues, still affects but very rare.
3. Engine stalling down a slope on depress of clutch, solved it self and havent faced it in 4 months. Culprit could have been insufficient warming of engine or poor fuel quality.

The standard issues you will face are:
1. Vibrations on foot pegs and fairing.
This was reduced in my case after 2 oil changes with motul 3100t at 3k km. Temporary solution to fairing vibes is either tightening screws or double sided tape, it doesn't bother me so i dont care
2. buzzing from speedo needle, no solution
3. Thud sound over tall speed-breakers, deep potholes, doesnt bother me.
4. loose tappet noise, with a helmet on i barely hear anything

with a good helmet I have grown immune to any buzzing/vibes noise so i dont even list these as niggles, all bikes will have vibes at some stage in the RPM band, depends on how particular a rider is.

Regarding online posts of engine being crap 1 year, it depends on how you treat your engine during the runin. Also the same engine is used in the 200NS, which is more than 4 years old in the market, if there was any crap design faults with the engine it would have been solved long back.

Also regarding poor part quality failing in 2 months, it could be a genuine case for a certain bike or failure cause of improper fitment or any number of possibilities. I mostly believe owners who post in reputed forums like ours with proof, else whatever is available online is just slander by people who hate bajaj or or are paid stooges of other manufactures.

And finally, IF your keen on a bajaj, please make a thorough study on the competence of the bajaj service centers available in your area.Peaceful ownership experience hinges on their technical competence, or if you can find a good outside garage then you wont have much of an issue.

hope i have cleared some of your doubts.

Regards

Guys i am facing a wierd problem .So the thing is i found a rat (small one) near the space given in the back seat (area to keep the tool box). When i opened the back seat the rat quickly ran inwards towards the rider seat .So i quickly went to the mechanic and told him to remove the riders seat .But to my surprise the rat was not found. The mechanic guy told me that the rat could have escaped from the way it came in the bike, but i doubt (because i saw it again after a few days ) .So guys do u think that i should go to the service station and tell them to remove the battery and check for the same,Or any other suggestions ? I am worried that it should not eat any wires of battery or indicators or such things .

I would suggest you should visit the SVC and tell them to open seats, panels, and every possible where there is a small place to hide except the engine head and check the wiring for any damage or something. Because rats love to bite all the plastic stuff[emoji14]

Keep tobacco leaves or napthalene balls under the seats and in between fairing, don't cover your bike with any kind of cover/cloth.

Tell him to diagnose and clear codes if found.

Thank you so much providing such elaborate information, I guess then the RS could be the one for me as I see a lot of pulsar bikes plying here, meaning they do have good SVCs here. And a lot of my own time as well as I love to take care of the things I own.

Keeping my fingers crossed wishing for the demon black and hoping they bring out a beautiful white variant. :P

I got my bike on last Friday, it is a awesome machine I am loving it very much. I have a small issue of right footpeg vibrations.
How can we solve it? Please help if someone know.
Rest is all fine, no vibrations in fairing at all.

And also please suggest the distance after which we can switch to Synthetic oil like Motul 3100 or 7100.

Thanks

Do you own RS200,?
If not dont comment unnecessarily, it does reduce vibrations if you switch to semisynth after 6k kms, fully synthetic after 10k.
