Also, what is the maximum range you have got on the bike? I just did ~ 300 km at a mileage of 33 kmpl and fuel meter is showing no bars. Has anybody managed to clock more kms with a tankful of fuel?
Recommended tire pressure is as follows:

    Front: 25 PSI
    Rear (with pillion): 32 PSI
    Rear (without pillion): 30 PSI

300 kms is good range you got out of a tankful if you ride in mixed conditions (highway + city). I've been able to get 280 kms in just 7 liters of fuel but my riding was 100% ghat roads and no city riding.

If you be a little more cautious with the throttle and don't rip it all the time, I guess you can expect a little more mileage out of the bike. Hope this helps.

    Cheers!

Yeah ! Those mileage figures are great if you ride in city. I have been riding everyday while going to my office in peak traffic hours and the bike struggles to touch even 30. I get around 26/28. However, I went on a ride last month , rode a total of 926 km's on mountains, highways and city , the bike performance was outstanding. I calculated all my petrol cost, km's traveled and got an terrific mileage of ~42-44 km/l .

I think the stats change considerably when you ride this bike over highways ! I'm soon planning for my next ride, will share the mileage I got after the trip.

      Hi Bro,

Yes, It do blocks the display to a small extent. I'll share the pics/video with my mobile holder on, tell me what would you prefer to see for your better understanding. I got the extension done at a shop in Karol Bagh, Delhi. I'll share the pics of the process as well. As far as. turning radius is concerned, it doesn't create any mess.

This is when I has riding in 25% city and 75% highway condition. Around 50% city riding gives ~ 29-30 kmpl

I never got a mileage of <30kmpl on my RS... Even if I rode 100% in city including of 50% in bumper-to-bumper traffic... Highest I managed was around 40kmpl with 90% highway riding in sane revving and safe speeds of around 90-110kmph.

Coming to mobile holder, I am clear on blocking display and turning radius part... Will be waiting for extension process

Ohh ! As of now, I am not very knowledgeable regarding this bike as it has only been 3.5 months when I owned this machine. Though, I'd suggest you to fill in your tank full and go for a highway ride, drive normally as you do, don't limit your excitement, ride as you have ridden any other bike without thinking about the mileage. I think this will give you a range of mileage you can expect from this beast !

hahaha ! yeah , riding in city that too in this hot weather evaporates the fuel at a much faster rate that it actually consumes ! lol

About mileage, on normal petrol always changing gears above 6K Rpm and riding above 100+ gives me 30-31Km/ltr,

                On Speed petrol gives 32-34Km/ltr,

Changing gears early riding below 80kmpl and most of the time on 6th gear gives 38-40.

Above figures are completely on touring,(60% highways, 20% mid roads/in city like with No jams but always on 1, 2 nd gears.
10% searching for places, 10% teriffic offroads)

No, they don't. If you smash your bike into something, then its a different story ! This bike demands respect !

Yes, the vibrations are there but they disappear as you go upwards of 4000 rpm. The bike delivers its magic after 5500-6000 rpm.

Depends on your physique. If you are short (say<5'5'') then RS200 is a bad choice (unless, you have determination like Dani Pedrosa!).

                  10 months, 10K kms, I don't feel so... I did my

These claims vary from person to person. Having said that, I've taken utmost care of my bike, in riding and handling. The bike behaves at its best at 8K-10K rpm! Bajaj has tried its level best to give a sportsbike "feel" to it. Well, anyone who has money can buy it, but only a few choose to maintain it. You can see superstuds running their bike on the roads, do you really expect them to take care of their bikes?? Wearing flipflops, shorts and having earphones while driving with sunglasses, they seem to have so much of confidence and skill that they would beat Valentino Rossi anyday with a blindfold on their eyes!! What "review" do you expect from these guys??
In a sports bike, the power is available in the top band of rpms, but bajaj has tweaked the gearing and power delivery in a manner, that the bike will behave like a nice commuter on weekdays, and a track tool on weekends! It returns a mileage of around 40 to me.
And believe me, the sound of the exhaust+engine is much sweeter beyond 5.5K..

RS200 can cruise all day long at 100-120kmph. And if you don't like fast accelerations, well then go for say Gixxer/FZ/Hornet, as they suit your requirements more, and will save a lot of cash, that you can invest in protective gears!

Well, this means that you already have all the protective gears! Please do not bracket all fast and trained riders, who follow rules, wear gear and ride fast on open roads as "teenage junkies". Not all riders are super-studs.

Please refer the post above for answers.

Avenger 220 is a cruiser, RS200 is a cheap sports-tourer kindish bike. They are two different genres of bikes. Avenger is a good backup to say Enfield, and RS200 is a good alternate to KTM RC200/Yam R15. One cannot substitute for another!

Thanks bro for reminding me that u love your bike and she will love you back. I'm still running in my bike but have been worried about her well being. I've a few questions and will be grateful if u seek out time to answer them.

                  1. Post 1700kkm and 1 service and 3 engine oil and filter change below 4000rpm and occasionally at speed of 75kkm max she is giving me 40-45 kmpl city mileage.i mostly rode single and within the city.Tried to be smooth with clutch and not to lug or Acccelarte sudden. Is my running in complete????

                  2. Can i take it on a 300 long ride. Up and down . With a pillion.

                  3. It vibrates as u said. Little from meter console. And mostly at thighs and foot rests. Will it ever go away?? Or. Its fine???

                  4. Sometimes it stalls. Coolant level is checked. Is it my clutch geAr and accelerator co ordinations issue or is there any other problem???

Waiting for your reply desperately.....thanks already.

Guys seriously its awkward, just now while i'm trying to reset the service remainder symbol, after some steps it started to blink, after blinking for 5seconds the km readind changed from 4650 to 9250...i just shocked for a second, then after switching off the engine kill switch and while turning on again the service remainder symbol is gone and the km is back to 4650...and also after tightening the right mirror when i rotate it, the screw also rotates with it and makes it looser...and the 3rd problem is the fairing on the left having a gap and the righter one doesnt have an gap...anyone have these type of issues...performance wise rs200 is an beast...but these things makes me feel worse...

Maybe that's how the service icon goes away. Haven't ever done it myself.

Regarding the mirror. Hold it and then tighten the screw. And do note that the rotation is opposite for tightening. Even I was confused when it first happened and landed up removing the mirror without knowing how to fix it.

Regarding fairing gaps, sadly have to live with it. Some of us have it on the left some on the right side. Just make sure that you have put double sided tape during service to reduce the vibes.

                        1. Run in period is over after at least 2000 Kms. Keep a steady hand on the throttle and you should be good.

                        2. 300 Km is possible on the bike. Remember it's your strength that matters more, the bike can keep going on and on but you will need rest.

                        3. Vibes will not go away completely but they will reduce significantly as you keep using the bike and keep on clocking kilometers. For smoother engine and less vibes Motul engine oil is recommended.

                        4. It does stall sometimes, due to new riders pulling the clutch in too fast. Allow to bike to decelerate at it's own pace and at the end just before stopping lightly pull the clutch in. You'll get better with practice.

                        Cheers!

Fairing gaps are common and so are most of the issues you are facing. Don't worry just tighten the fairing once in a while every now and then.

There is some strange buzzing behind the console and is only audible while running, have not found a solution to this yet. We may have to install rubber washers to dampen the buzzing but that's not an easy job. Ask the SVC to take a look.

                          1. You might have seen trip meter like 925.0kms
                          2. Mirror is not rotatble. Its completely fixed type
                          3. Reassemble the fairing,
Nowadays they are coming with foam beading and glued foam inserts to reduce slight vibrations.

Thanks bro. Thank you so much for such a fast reply. One more thing when should I get it serviced now and oil changed and when should I switch. To motul. Bajaj svc guys have denied to use that oil????. Bajaj says second service at 4500 km . I've got one service done at 500km with oil change. Second oil change at 1000km and 3rd at 1500km. Thanks already.

Bajaj svc guys have denied to use that oil????. Bajaj says second service at 4500 km . I've got one service done at 500km with oil change. Second oil change at 1000km and 3rd at 1500km. Thanks already.
Better get the service done before or somewhere around 4500 Kms. Bajaj oil doesn't last more than 2500 Kms.

You can switch to motul after second or third service. However you will have to go from Semi synthetic to full synthetic oil because jumping straight to full synthetic you will notice the engine getting very harsh. Motul 5100 would be my choice in this situation. It depends on you, do what you feel is best.

They deny to use that oil but no one is stopping you from coming home and replacing the oil yourself. It's not that hard, watch a few videos on YouTube to get an idea as to how it's done.

Read this thread from the beginning before you proceed any further.

                              Good luck!
