  • Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience

Okay guys, had a visit to SVC just few minutes ago and thought to update everyone here. Issues and what i heard inline:

    1) Bike stalling issue :
The issue what i had was bike getting shut down sometimes while downshifting and pressing clutch.
    2) Gear shifting downwards:
Gear went free sometimes and it seemed to me that there is no more gear. Had to upshift and then again downshift to get the gears running again.

SVC response: As soon as he drove he found that the clutch wire and its connection with gear box is loose. Hence while pressing and releasing it suddenly missed the throttle and bike stopped. He said i can do a temporary fix by tightening the same however for complete fix he will have to open the tank cover and then do a proper diagnosis. I said Ok, since i am not too troubled by the same plus not willing to give those people bike for a half day again. No never. So have taken a call to get it fixed in 2nd free service unless i am not able to live with it.

    3) Black particles (petrol/water) at silencer:

The senior mechanic said it's due to the quality of petrol you are using. He asked me which pump do you fill and we discussed accordingly. He asked me to try a better dealer or even speed petrol for the same. The black stuff as per him is some moisture coming out and due to low quality petrol i.e the SADA one.

Few points to note for all:

The SVC guys are not at all familiar with this bike. Today i went mad at them and then they said he was a junior engineer and he might have missed. I had a debate and he said sir we will take care going onwards. The senior mechanic there immediately recognized few issues and fixed them. They have promised to get the same person for next service.

The SVC manager was so pathetic, he said to me that sir "Service center se call aegi. Apne hisab se feedback de dena. Baaki jo apne bich ki baat hui hai vo hum log sambhal lenge" i.e I am giving your number as our best customer for feedback call. Please give a good feedback and we will surely take care of all things we have discussed internally.

Learning: Please double check with SVC manager when you give your bike for service and take a note and explanation for all the problems you listed down. Try to get in touch with mechanic and ask him what all things he did and why the issue came.Try to get the best mechanic out there though you will never know who is CHOSEN one. The earlier guy who serviced misread the Coolant reading and it was at minimum level. They filled it today and charged me Rs.70 for the same. So pathetic is the condition of these SVC.

Let me know if you want to know anything else about these issues or have anything to share for me. Cheers! Merry Christmas and happy riding.

        Guys,

What's the cost of side mirror and rear foot peg? Just met an accident, all safe due to god's grace, and want to get them fixed tomorrow.

Any approx prices would work as well. How i met accident? Typical people not following rules and coming from one way road to another without looking behind from a very narrow road.

One more thing: Try not to hit more on rear brake. My bike skidded like hell. The breaking of pulsar and tyres helped a lot.

Hope you're alright. Be careful and keep in mind when near a lot of pedestrians be extra careful bud.

Price of pegs and mirrors varies from city to city. They're not that expensive. Just get them replaced ASAP as parts for our bikes are already hard to come by. Good luck.

RS 200 has Halogen projector headlamps.

            Low beam = 55W & High beam = 65W.

This method has made my bike lean more on the side stand so I'm hesitant to give them my bike again. I'm afraid it'll just break.

I will ask them again once I go there. Will post here what I find out.

Indeed. That's why his bike didn't start even when there was some fuel left.

Members have suggested to keep at least some fuel in the bike. Never let it run to the last point. Future owners should keep this in mind and not ask the same question over and over again. Thanks a lot guys!

Are you sure that the sound is from the bearing? It is also possible that the sound might be coming out from some other part of the bike. As they have replaced the bearing three times then the sound should have gone by now.

In my case I'm 100% sure the sound is coming from that bearing.

My friend has the same problem. His has been replaced once. Mine 3 times.

As I mentioned the bearings used are from the 200 NS. Our RS 200 has a bigger disc brake. What happens is, dust and sand enters this bearing, and when we move the bike it starts to rub against the walls and makes this annoying squeaky sound.

I hope this answers your query.

Whats the connection between bearing and brake disk,
Brake disk is mounted to alloy wheel not bearing!!

Just tape your disk and start rotate slowly,
If its problem with bearing it wont leave any scratch marks on tape,
If sound is coming while rubbing of disk pad and roater/disk it will leave tiny scratch marks/cut your tape on disk!!

(tape* any coloured thin tape cello r scrotch, etc)

Buddy there are 2 sounds that can come from the front wheel.

The one you have mentioned is from the disc.

We are not talking about that here. There is a squeaky sound that comes from the bearing inside. It is located in the forks just where the long nut goes which keeps the front wheel in place. I'll add a picture later and hopefully clear this confusion.

I'm not sure if anyone else has the same problem as me. But the sound on my and my friends bike doesn't come from the disc. I am well aware of that sound and have had that checked out as well.

I think we cant fix led bubs in projector headlamps,
                            Instead of replacing stock headlamps,
Borrow accessory led lamps from Kawasaki or Triumph!!

At what speed does that sound creeps in? In my case it creeps in after 30kmph and increases with the speed. I will also inform the bajaj guys about this problem when I will take my bike for the first service and will share my experience.

As you have said earlier that bajaj is yet to find the solution for this problem thn I think this sound is really going to hurt one's peace of mind.

Here is the complete breakdown of wheel assembly,
There is no connection between disk and bearings,
If your bearings are wearing out too quickly, do check fork assembly for bends and does they have same height, or bent long bolt!!
Do post pictures of wornout bearings i ll try to figure out whats going with your bike!!
