    Hey xbhpians.

Was wondering if any owner has bought a bike cover for their RS200? IF yes, which model/Make and whether its available online. Need a good cover that can be tied down to the bike since i park the bike in the open during office hours.

    Regards

I have done small mod on front mudguard. Followed from Benelli TNT 300 DIY thread.

I put a small hole to fix the bolt and nut. Also used double sided tape.
After installing a small mudflap on the front mudguard, there is no mud on radiator(fins). If you wish, you can do the same for your beast. Total cost ~ Rs.250 (Btwin mudflap, 3M tape -preferred, bolt and nut)

I was also having trouble to find a charger and mobile handle that will go with RS's handle, but I was disappointed. At last, I went for a small mod for the mobile holder and charger(Not BOLT, regular charger got it from Karol bagh, works okay). If you wish to see i'll share the pics.
Hey bro can you share the pictures of the mod you have done for the mobile holder?

Anyone tried to fix a mobile holder to the RVM like one of these bicycle mobile holders?? Any feed back if tried?

I bought the kind of cover you are looking for from a local shop for Rs. 350. The shop was not having the specific model/make according to the bike but he gave me the biggest of all he had and it fits perfectly on the bike. Online, the cover is available but the reviews are not great regarding quality and size. So I suggest you to check on any local shop that deals in covers.

Hey guys someone wanted a picture of the bike without the Saree guard in this thread a while ago. I have been away from home for a month so I couldn't post it. If someone would like to see how the bike looks like without the Saree guard do let me know I'll post the photo I have.

              Cheers!

Thanks for posting pictures of These mods, will help fellow RS200 owners immensely. Just for those who do not have access to knowledgeable mechnics, how have you connected the mobile charger? Which wire was tapped(IF any) Also is the mobile charger water proof?

Coming to the extension to fit the mobile holder, is this extension easily available? or was it fabricated?

                Regards

1)cheap quality parts. Have read a lot of comments on different forum that things starts to break after a month or two. Is it true ?
No, they don't. If you smash your bike into something, then its a different story ! This bike demands respect !
2)vibration. Read that it vibrates a lot compared to other 200 cc bikes like duke, rc200 due to its fairing quality and bolts.
Yes, the vibrations are there but they disappear as you go upwards of 4000 rpm. The bike delivers its magic after 5500-6000 rpm.
3)riding in cities is mere pain because its way too heavy.
Depends on your physique. If you are short (say<5'5'') then RS200 is a bad choice (unless, you have determination like Dani Pedrosa!).
4)engine is basically crap after an year or so.
                  10 months, 10K kms, I don't feel so... I did my
So, rs200 owners, are these claims true and you had to live with it ? Or they are just blatant lies to bring the name down ?.
These claims vary from person to person. Having said that, I've taken utmost care of my bike, in riding and handling. The bike behaves at its best at 8K-10K rpm! Bajaj has tried its level best to give a sportsbike "feel" to it. Well, anyone who has money can buy it, but only a few choose to maintain it. You can see superstuds running their bike on the roads, do you really expect them to take care of their bikes?? Wearing flipflops, shorts and having earphones while driving with sunglasses, they seem to have so much of confidence and skill that they would beat Valentino Rossi anyday with a blindfold on their eyes!! What "review" do you expect from these guys??
In a sports bike, the power is available in the top band of rpms, but bajaj has tweaked the gearing and power delivery in a manner, that the bike will behave like a nice commuter on weekdays, and a track tool on weekends! It returns a mileage of around 40 to me.
And believe me, the sound of the exhaust+engine is much sweeter beyond 5.5K..
Please do reply guys as I'm going to spend my own hard earned money and I don't wanna make a bad choice.
I'm a decent rider in cities n highways both(friends have told me). Hardly go over 40-50 in cities and 80-100 in highways, which means I'm below those range most of the times.
RS200 can cruise all day long at 100-120kmph. And if you don't like fast accelerations, well then go for say Gixxer/FZ/Hornet, as they suit your requirements more, and will save a lot of cash, that you can invest in protective gears!
Basically I don't ride like teenage junkie.
Well, this means that you already have all the protective gears! Please do not bracket all fast and trained riders, who follow rules, wear gear and ride fast on open roads as "teenage junkies". Not all riders are super-studs.

Now I have kept a fall back option as the avenger 220 street as like both equally, well the RS200 a tad bit more.
Avenger 220 is a cruiser, RS200 is a cheap sports-tourer kindish bike. They are two different genres of bikes. Avenger is a good backup to say Enfield, and RS200 is a good alternate to KTM RC200/Yam R15. One cannot substitute for another!

so please share your experiences, Long term users.

Yes I agree to that point, but other than these two bike I did not find anything which has the right amount(19-24 bhp) of power and a low enough rear seat for parent to get on.

You might ask "why not AS200?"
Well that is because I don't like it's look and the tail section looks like s vintage Bajaj.
Therefore my weird set of choice, and as I like riding both the genres I am open to any of the two.
But I am inclining towards the RS200 more, day by day.

Thank you for the elaborate explanation.

                      Hi,

Is it possible to replace or clean the air filter on own? - I am asking this question to maintain my bike well. Kind of preventive maintenance.

I am afraid to give it in the service centre. They are handling the bikes very bad and charging extra. As per manual, the air filter to be replaced every 20K kms. Also mentioned cleaning is not required.

                      Please advise.

                      Thanks

Hey friends, one quick question: What is the recommended tire pressure for RS200? I cant remember and do not have access to the owner manual currently.

Also, what is the maximum range you have got on the bike? I just did ~ 300 km at a mileage of 33 kmpl and fuel meter is showing no bars. Has anybody managed to clock more kms with a tankful of fuel?
