How did you lengthen the swingarm to achieve the above? Because AFAIK, we have fixed axle and sprocket mounting points on the swingarm.

So, you mean that the distance between the two wheels change when we adjust the chain tension, but the swingarm length is the same throughout, isn't it?

Yes, but isn't 10 mm a very big difference?

In my opinion you should stick to stock bajaj oil till 5000 kms and then use semi synthetic oil till 8-9k kms and then switch to fully synthetic.

Hey guys any idea how long the chain and sprockets last?

A friend of mine is thinking of replacing the complete chain and sprocket setup and he has done around 11K km. Does the chain need to be replaced so soon?

Chain life depends on timely lubrication and usage of the bike. Ripping the bike often, letting the chain get dry or rusty will lead to extra wear and tear.

Im not sure what chain the rs200 uses, but CBR 250 owners have chain life between 16000-33000 kms.

Usually a chain doesn't have to be changed so soon.
Pls check the wear of the chain and what marking it is at right now.
And if the sprocket has become pointy then it should be changed.

Guys, yesterday my bike started behaving erratically and has got me worried. While returning home I heard what seemed to have been an excess fairing vibration. At first I thought it was some small rock stuck inside of the fairing. When I stopped to check it, the following was observed.

The rpm meter(engine) which generally stays at 1.8k, rises to 2k, then to 3k, then falls back to 2k, again goes to 3.5k, then falls down again and the engine shuts off. This is happening every time without any throttle input. I know this is not the auto choke working. Riding the bike in this condition is similar to case when you are low on fuel on carb bikes and have to give constant gas when having to slow down, to prevent the bike from stalling. Whenever I pull the clutch on 4k-5k rpm, the revs fall down and the bike shuts off.

I've tried riding the bike after 8 hours, still the condition prevails. I've given the bike to the SVC today and I was told they were gonna work on it on Monday or Tuesday since tomorrow is a holiday and they have a couple more bikes to work on.

                      Some info,
Bike is 11months old, did 6600kms, Switched to Motul 5100 15w50 on Nov 24th, 5900kms.

Please do reply if you know anything about this issue.

Have you checked the CDI / ECU connection?

I really have no clue as to how to do that. Do you?
I imagined it would have been an ECU issue. But the mechanic said that he'd need to open the bike to check for the problem. He felt that it might be something engine related and might have to disassemble it.

Does this happen when the engine is hot? I have observed something like this in my bike a while ago. The problem is a little less now but still pops up once in a while sometimes.

PM me I'll give you more info. Cheers!

No, it started the moment I started the bike after taking it out of parking after some 6 hrs. It wasn't hot.
