Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
hey, i am having same problem like you. mine does stall immidiatly after cranking when engine is hot and sometimes it starts at very low rpm then there is a sudden rpm surge after that it idles.i have replaced the whole throttle body under warranty and replaced the fuel and oil filter too.after the changes the problem was rare for some kms. after like 1000kms it is very now and then. i think the suspects are the ecu or the temperature sensor. pm your whatsapp. thanks.Originally posted by Minisoda View PostHey guys.
Got a few parts replaced on the bike.
Stepper motor
3 Spark plugs
Fuel filter
Only the stepper motor was replaced under warranty and they billed me 600 bucks for the filter and 2 plugs.
However the bike still doesn't start without throttle input after it gets hot. I'm thinking this is a valve clearance issue? What do I need to keep in mind while checking the valves?
Also, does anyone know what size (in mm) the drain bolt is?
Thanks guys.

So far the stepper motor and fuel filter have been changed. They are refusing to touch the throttle body.
PM'ing you right away.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hey Guys , posting here after a long time.
A little Off topic but how many of youll feel The new Bajaj Dominar 400 is a death knell for the RS200 at its current price point. I mean who would overlook the Dominar and go in for the Rs200? For 20k more you get a hell of a lot, 200 extra cc, LED headlights etc. The RS200 never really fell in the pure fully faired category, so i doubt the full faired die hards are going to prefer the RS200 and overlook the domiar.
The RS200 isnt a light or nimble bike in traffic so doubt its going to be vastly superior to maneuver in city, Hence why would anyone consider the RS200 over the Dominar?? Better mileage? or die hard fan of the RS200 looks? or prefer the aggressive tune of the RS200? or more cruiser like state of tune of the Dominar?
I dare think what the resale of my Rs200 is going to be
I feel a bit cheated by bajaj, all that for just 20k extra, even Dual Channel ABS, which the RS200 gets only single channel. Is the Dominar really competing with the Royal enfields? Its state of tune seems to be similar to that of the Mahindra mojo, anyways, ill test ride it to see the difference.
Coming to my Bike, Completed 10.5k km,15 months old. It has been performing flawlessly( at least according to bajaj standards
). No major issues, mileage seems stable. 33 to 39 depending on aggressive or sedate style of riding.
A little bit of usual vibes and fairing buzzing but noting out of the ordinary.
Have the issue with starting and/or stalling , but it is very rare and haven't bothered to follow up with bajaj since they refuse to acknowledge any problem. Hopefully for my next service when they remove the fairing completly, ill keep a close track on all the solutions youll come up with and replicate it on my bike.
Regards

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Tank slappers they are called or even more precisely, they're called death wobble. This happens when the bike speeds up so fast that the gyroscopic forces are strong that it acts straightly on the bars. Usually, and for the most part, the bike tends to correct itself, but if the forces are strong and the speed is not reduced, when the slap is so bad, it can throw you off the bike and total the bike as it literally throws the bike in air.Originally posted by Hiteshb View PostGuys,
Today, I have experienced tank slapper on my bike,
-As road was clear ahead ,still road was uneven with very small bumps, I accelerated over it (to 80-90) & handle bar started to wobble,
I thought I am going to first time crash today - i then left the accelerator & dint't gave any input, luckily it recovered itself after 10-15 seconds,
As per my experience of riding RS for a year, this bike is very stable ,this was totally unexpected since it always inspired confidence & goes over potholes without shaking.
As I am still new to motorcycles(riding geared bike since an year) Does anyone else experienced this,
if so, since it is very scary please let me know what should be the cause & how it should be avoided in future?
Secondly, when you are riding fast and encounter a road where it changes camber and or jumping over a pothole an landing, these are highly prone to happen. Remember the bike's geometry is such that it will try to become normal by itself 100% of the time. We panic and hold the bars and it intensifies the wobble passing through your body to the entire motorcycle. Ease on the throttle and relax your grip on the bars when you encounter such wobble or tank slappers.
Ride safe.
Battery : 12V - 8 Ah VRLA and if I reckon the bike should produce in and around 150 watts at the magneto side, definitely more than 120 watts for sure. I'm just brainstorming here, but I just don't have the exact magneto output wattage.Originally posted by Darchorse View PostHii guys, i dont own a rs200 but i have those eyes on my bike taken from rs200. Anybody know the output of alternator and capacity of battery??? Any review about regulator rectifier of rs200 will be helpful. Thanks (:
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I too have been wondering the fate of the RS 200 since the Dominar launch.Originally posted by Rambo1o1 View PostHey Guys , posting here after a long time.

Don't think mileage figures would be much different since Dominar got de-tuned engine.(with my RS-I am getting less than 30 mileage)Originally posted by Minisoda View PostI too have been wondering the fate of the RS 200 since the Dominar launch.

Aside, still it's price is Introductory ,so it should go up in coming months(Same as 200ns & duke 200 had introductory prices then increased by 10-15k ).
It will affect the overall sale but RS200 should survive as a solo Faired Bike from Bajaj until at least RS400 comes in.
Also as per my understanding since the part sharing with NS,AS & upcoming Rs400 for fairing comp, we don't have to worry much about spares in future in case they discontinue (similar to NS & Discover current state).

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Guys, recently my rear tyre of 6000kms and 11 months was punctured. I did get the usual sticky patching done but I've been reading on the internet that it's better to go for some Mushroom patch and also that tubeless tryes after a puncture are as good as gone. People reporting that the sticky patch lasted for 6 months after which they ultimately had to replace the tyre which has got me worried.
Please suggest your valuable opinions.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hello everyone,
I have a question.
I rode my bike for 200 kms today and took a short break of 5 mins. When I started riding my bike again a weird tap tap tap tap noise started coming from engine...I stopped and checked and the sound was from engine.
Never heard this weird sound before. Any one facing same problem.
Please help thank you....
Odo reading 2800 kms...
