I've changed to Motul 7100 20W50 and have clocked more than a thousand kilometers with this oil alone. The performance is same regardless of time/temperature etc. Also, the bike doesn't heat up like before in traffic, runs a lot cooler!

I suggest you to try Motul 5100 20W40 and you will notice the difference yourself. It's a semi synthetic oil and will perform much much better than the stock Mineral Oil (Bajaj DTS-i Oil).

      Cheers!
Thank you for your valuable suggestion.

As you have suggested to use Motul 5100 20W40 oil but don't you think that the grade of oil is different and the manual says to adhere to the recommended oil grade i.e, 20W50. Also, some of you guys are suggesting to use Motul 5100 15W50, in this case also the grade is different. So I want to ask whether the different grade will cause any harm to the engine or not.

20w50 can be used in place of 15w50. Basically 15w50 means the engine oil flows faster when the engine is cold as opposed to 20w50 which takes a teeny tiny bit more time to circulate around the engine. Now, the faster the oil circulates inside the engine, the better the engine likes it and faster the lubrication and prevents start up wear. So 15w50 is a better oil compared to 20w50 in that respect.

        Cheers!

One more question..Could you please suggest some good Motul semi synthetic oil for RS200.
3300 km done..planning to switch to Motul semi synthetic as I can feel some roughness in my engine

          Hello Riderzz,

First of all thank so much for continuous help and support.

I just lubed my bike chain 4 days back...and started riding there after.
Today I saw some kind of liquid stain in my RS engine right side. I checked the engine oil cap it was bit loose so I tight it.
I am confused and left with three possibilities of this leakage:
          1. Can be chain lube liquid as four days back I lubed my chain
2.May be loose cap as I mentioned above, oil may be popped up outside.
          3. Or no guess may be some other part is leaking as I can see pretty much area is wet.
Oil is bit thick and it is only in the right side of my bike (engine oil cap side)
Guys please help me on this as I am get worry

            You have three affordable options.

Motul 3100 an affordable semi synth, cheapest
Motul 5100, tried and tested oil that is a fantastic all rounder. My personal favorite.
7100, the mid range between 5100 and 300v. Does duty on most Dukes and upper range Bajaj, does its job real good. Very good oil.

            Choice is yours!

            Cheers!

Since chain is on left side ,no way lube will spread till right side cap,
^ As you stated oil filler cap was loose ,it should be the problem-but for the peace of mind just go through below two points -

                1) check current oil level (inspection window). if oil level looks low first refill it then take off side cover & check for any traces of oil spill from head/ any other area (or take it to SVC to get it inspected)
                2) if oil level is fine & no other traces found ,it should be fine ,just clean the area & keep an eye if it repeats.

                    1. Avoid using SMS lingo on the forum.
                    2. Wash the engine area completely with shampoo and wipe it dry. Tighten all bolts if needed and monitor. Your job will be much easier.

Though folks would like to help you here, a friendly suggestion, please type out what you want to say a little more precisely and clearly, so that it helps not only you, fellow members and you never know, you might require the same information later too. Good thing, right.

Now, coming to your point, does the oil leak/weep out of the oil filler cap/neck? Or does the flow mark of oil is above the engine cylinder and then flows near oil filler cap? If you find the oil leaking near the oil filler cap frequently, your oil filler cap O-ring should be replaced, it's underneath the cap, costs some 2 to 3 bucks, replace and tighten the O ring, should arrest the leak.

If you observe oil leaking near the head and then flowing near the RIGHT side of the engine, you might have a leaking valve cover gasket. Chain lube usually do not leak like, say, an engine oil. Excess lube does get splashed around and appear gummy on touch, unlike engine oil which is more fluidic. Chain lube usually appear on the left side of the bike and excess gets collected if your bike has a engine belly pan, you can clearly differentiate between a leak and splash of chain lube.

                        Cheers!

I washed my bike thoroughly specially the spilled part. Also engine oil cap is well tight now. It's been two days I haven't saw any oil stain as of now. Will keep on update...
Due to my lack of knowledge on bikes..I didn't mentioned parts specifically to avoid confusion..

If you find any caps or plastic covering on top of bolt recesses, you can remove those plastic by using a small screw driver, and pry them out carefully. They are usually used for aesthetic purposes. It's simple and easy.
