  • Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience

    Hello All,

Its my very first post here @ Bhp. A proud RS 200 owner. Got her last year August 24th and its been a great 16900~ kms together ever since.

Really happy with the bike's performance for the past year, she is ever so giving in the highs and lows, though had a few quirks with her mechanics (Clutch wire got cut @ around 14k kms. If you're somewhere around the same kms, be cautious, for the cable's route to the engine is a debacle of twists and turns, making the whole setup very stiff. Stock rear tires couldn't withstand my riding style, they wore out @ around 10k kms, so changed them to size 140.60.17 MRF Revz, which to me is the sweet spot, since 150 seemed a tad too much for our Rim width. Great handling and mileage didn't take a hit at all. Chain sprocket doesn't last very long considering our terrain, its making a lot of "tuks" now, i'm planning on going to aftermarket performance kit). Apart from these minor quirks, shes a pleasure to saddle up.

The main purpose behind budging into this thread is about the mobile holder. I've seen a lot of messages from riders here who seek the perfect mobile holder/charger for our ride. I think i found a perfect one (for me at least) that i would like to share with you all.

DELHITRADERSS Motorcycle Bike Mobile USB charger With mobile Holder For Cell Phone GPS mobile: Amazon.in: Car & Motorbike

This x-grip holder is a perfect fit for our ride with tiny modifications.

It comes with a built in charger, extra rubber claws and is pretty sturdy. Been through a lot of bumps and potholes with my mobile on it, it just wouldn't budge.

It includes a hidden switch under our rear seats to switch on the charger whenever necessary. Not at all accessible to any one but the owner.

So I've been having this really strange problem again.

The bike refusing to crank the first time after a while of riding (hot engine), and also when it (rarely) stalls.

The way it happens is, the bike starts fine when it's cold. I warm it up, go for a spin only to get stuck in traffic, thus making the engine now perfectly hot. I park the bike in front of a shop, buy some stuff and crank it and it tries to start but quickly dies. I start it again, and the same result, starter motor noise, the engine tries to go, but then suddenly it dies. The 3rd or 4th try I give it a little bit of throttle and it fires up although in a weird manner. But it starts up nonetheless.

It should be noted that this only occurs when the engine is in operating temperature. Never happens on a cold start, ever.

I already got the throttle body and the fuel tank cleaned, so it's not either of those. Had my stepper motor replaced a while ago as well.

Any idea what might be causing this?

I'll be asking this same question in the Duke 200 thread to see if anyone is facing a similar issue.

      Thanks guys.

The bike is awwsomee but iam pretty too bored with the run in period of 2000 km till now ive always maintained below 50 but sometimes i lose my patience and took it to 80 is it really gonna harm my bike....
I bought it from supreme bajaj in mangalore sad to say but the bikes side stand sensor was not working by the time i got it bajaj blamed forr poor quality checks..
So far no vibrations at any point that was the thing that worried me the most

              • RS200 Color fading discussion

                Hello Folks,
Happy Dussehra to ALL of you
Its been more than a month with my RS200 and she is responding pretty well so far
One small suggestion I need from you experienced people.
Is there any possibility of color fading in RS200...I mean is that really gonna happen???
If yes then please suggest some option so that I can maintain her color intact for a longer term...
And please throw some light on TEFLON COATING on RS200.

                Quick responses are highly appreciate.

                Hi Vishal,
It will surely crank the engine but will get stop moment you hit the gear.

Hey! Nice mod if u dont mind, can you please tell me how you managed to mount the holder onto the 'clip ons'? I did see the product on amazon but not able to find the mounting procedure on the product page. Do share some pics if possible. Cheers

Yeah bro thats right but i never checked the side stand at the time of delvery i clarified it with the dealer they told to visit the service center and itll be covered under waranty

And also i have doubt on running in my bike as ive recently come across a post on youtube saying its not necessary to go in slower speeds and riding in 50kmph in 6th gear actually strains and damages the engine really confused with the break in period :/

                            Hello Vishal,

I am not an expert in all this but gain pretty much knowledge from this forum.
Strictly and blindly follow RS200 manual..As we know the engine is brand new so in initial adjustment there are lots of friction between the moving parts which lead in metal shed.
So to avoid the damage to engine and wish to make it breathe for long term.. limit your speed as prescribed in manual.
Go through it...worth reading..If you really care about your bike
                            FYI:--
                            1 gear: 15 kmph
                            2 gear: 25 kmph
                            3 gear: 35 kmph
                            4 gear: 45 kmph
                            5 gear: 55 kmph
                            6 gear: kmph
Till first service limit your speed to 50km/hr.. better wait till first 1000km.
Don't forget to change oil in first service...
                            Happy Riding safe riding
