These are minor updates introduced with a new batch. Typical Bajaj. Nothing ground breaking here they just iron out a few quirks every time a new model is out.

One thing the guy in the video is wrong about is the sticker on the tank. The Demon Black RS 200 never had that transformer like sticker on the tank. It was on the Red and Yellow bikes only.

    Cheers.

Completed my 1 year/10k km servicing on Monday. As usual even after insisting ,they did not want to open and clean the air filter or clean the throttle body. The air filter will be replaced by them at 15k km instead of 20k km.

I had asked to use motul 7100 instead of the usual motul 4100t gold that they normally use. Since i was present i saw them open a brand new can of 1.5L motul 7100 but it was 10W50 instead of 20W50, they had exhausted stock of 20W50. The service guys assured me there wont be any issues and i can change back to 20w50 before summer starts.
Besides oil and general check up, they adjusted the chain, checked the spark plug and topped up the coolant as well as applying wd40 to all electrical switches.

Due to the constant rush at this particular service center, they dont like to do anything thats not recommended in the manual, sadly there another service center in the north of Goa but is also owned by the same company so i doubt ill get any different service at this far off service center.

Before the service I had two issues with my bike, the first being slight jerkiness in 3rd gear at 4-5k rpm and second was the apparent oil leak on the rear shock.
The service mechanics took my bike for a test ride and came back saying there isnt any issue that causes the jerking. They said at that gear and rpm, the throttle has to be twisted carefully otherwise slight jerks will be experienced. I expected this answer since i tested this out way before i took it to bajaj.

The second issues with the rear shock was due to grease being present inside the black cap. I was personally showed this and found alot of grease applied inside. since the cap isnt air tight, some grease squeezes out and looks like an oil leak. I double checked for oil around the seals but only found lot of grease

Anyways, after going full synthetic i can feel the smoothness with gear shifts and huge difference in engine tone/less-vibrations and performance after 7k rpm. Below 7k rpm i dont find much difference. Also in start stop traffic the bike doesn't heat up as fast as before so i guess ill stick to motul 7100 till i can afford it

      Regards

I saw a couple of AS200,ns200 and a few rs200 parked for servicing and out of 10 bikes, 2 had the similar oily markings.
Is it normal to find grease inside the black cap? I assume this grease is applied by the vendor before shipping it to bajaj to be assembled with the rest of the bike, case of extra dose of grease? Or did i miss the oil leak due to all that grease under the cap.

        Okay. Thanks!
Btw, I'm around 5'8" tall and i weigh around 70 kgs. Some say the pulsar rs200 is quite heavy! Will i have a problem with the weight of the bike? And will it be too tall for me?
        Please do comment!

        Thanks!

I have a friend who has similar weight and height as you. He has been riding the RS 200 for almost a year now through pretty much everything without any problems. The bike is very heavy but the weight disappears as soon as you start moving.

The only issue comes when you have to push it without the help of the engine. But that's a minor drawback compared to the stability the bike has at highway speeds and in heavy crosswinds.

The seat height might be an issue in stop and go traffic, otherwise seat height doesn't matter much if all you do is highway riding. Get a test ride so you can decide for yourself. Cheers buddy.

              Hello Folks,

While buying RS200,, showroom manager offer me 3 years extended warranty by paying just 1800.
              Is that okay?
              Please suggest.....
              1. Varun Bajaj Kondapur(Hitech City) has serviced my bike for past 1 year. They are good people, polite and courteous. Far better than other bajaj dealers.
              2. Warranty is your personal choice, go for it if you feel like taking it, else let it be, there are too many clause in the booklet that will void your warranty, even without your knowledge. So first read all the T&C of warranty in the booklet and then make a decision.

Have you checked the battery terminals? They loosen sometimes and prevent any current to flow through the bike.

If all else fails try to push start the bike, preferably in 2nd gear. Good luck.

Ignition and everything else is working fine, even headlights are getting on when in side stand. Tried starting through Push several times but nothing happened.

Don't know what's wrong, had to leave my bike at office parking.

I would suggest not trying to start it. It might do more harm than good. Get it towed to the SVC if possible they'll know what to do. Cheers.

There is a deeper problem here. The fuse is supposed to protect the electricals in cases when there is a sudden surge in current. In your case, blown fuse (thrice) means there is a short somewhere in the connections. Remember: blown switch itself is not the problem, it is just an effect of a hidden problem somewhere. You would need to get the wiring checked to rule out such possibility.

Is the fairing sound that bad?

If yes, then try to find which panel is making most sound and just release the nuts or screws there and re tight them that usually does the trick or you can use double sided tape in the panel gaps to reduce the sound.

The above job is of SVC people but they won't do it, may be if you are patient enough and after numerous trips you might get lucky.

For break squeaking just pressure wash near the disk and inside caliper and if you know how to open a caliper even better, just make a thorough cleaning and not just break pads but inside caliper too.

SVC guys usually just clean break pads and give it to you, but cleaning inside of caliper is equally important as the squeaking will return after few kilometers if you don't clean inside. Pressure wash usually does the job but if there is too much sticky dirt then opening the caliper is best option.

PS: The above process is DIY, but opening caliper is not and if you do open yourself, make sure that you remember which nut and component came from which location. take pictures while opening for reference.

Yeah the problem is with the wiring and I need a good SVC at Chennai who can check that out .

How does shooting amail to bajaj work ? Do they respond ?

I am taking to SVC tomorrow but I don't know where to take it as the PBK in Chennai is now a KTM only outlet
