  • Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience

    Hi Guys,

I myself own a 200NS, asking this query as my friend is looking to buy RS200.

He has been waiting for delivery of his RS200 but the showroom in Bangalore says they have limited color/stock of 2016 models and they are expecting new 2017 models.
Can someone confirm if this is true ? if yes, how long before they arrive to the showroom ?

Please provide any useful information that could help him.

There has been a lot of grapevine about the new 200 launch, but the exact timeline is hard to predict. There have been news of the new paintjob 200 RS being launched in Turkey and the like. January 19 you can expect some news, but that too which is purely related to the Duke series. We'll have more information with regards to this a couple of months, hopefully.

      Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

      THE END

They will launch the 2017 version which might have a BS4 compliant engine. Maybe that's why it's taking so long. Be patient if you've already booked it, it won't be long now. Cheers!

            ThanksVJ.

He got his Loan ready, just the waiting game now.
Just the timeline is not confirmed, hence he is contemplating if he should go ahead with the existing one which by no means is bad.
Just wondering the updated 2017 is deal breaker to wait for few more weeks/months.

              Hello guys,

Few days back I rode my bike at 130 km/h. Next day I noticed that whenever I am accelerating to change the next gear the engine is sounding little bit more metallic. Any views on this?

                Xbhpians....
Can we fix the centre stand available for 200NS on RS200 ?

Both have exact same chassy and the and bolt points right?

Or does the exhaust make it impossible?
When u asked the service centre guys, they said NO 😔 .

I dont want to keep it permanently, but for doing small works myself, i can use it and after the work, can remover it

                ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Would like to know one more thing, is the rear sprocket of Ktm a direct fit on RS200 ?
                Any idea ?

The stand cannot be fitted onto the RS200.
The bolts and framework is a bit different to accommodate the fairing.

Not sure about the sprockets of the KTM being a direct fit. Kind check with the mechanics. They would know for sure

I changed the Engine Oil to MOTUL FS 7100 @6350kms and topup was once at 9500kms.

Now my odo reads 12005 kms.

                            When should i change it?

                            Thank you! ☺

                            • First signs of dissapointment

                              Hi fellow bikers

I was one of the first owners of the bike in India and have clocked ~ 19k KMs on the bike. The experience till now was very good and thankfully, without any niggles. But this all changed last week. Please allow me to share my story.

Last Friday, while going to office (one way 23 km. 18 km on highway) the battery warning sign started glowing. Since I had to take the bike to servicing on Monday, I ignored it. I thought that my ride anyways consists of a long stretch on highway, so the battery will get charged anyways and there is no need to panic.

                              I was wrong.

While returning back, I faced a massive traffic jam and the bike died in between the traffic. The display was on but the bike wont start. A few observations on this:
                              1. Before dying down, the pickup had gone very low.
                              2. After dying down when I tried to start the bike, the tachometer needle did a full swipe. This was followed by a "Ghattag ghattag" and "krrrrr" sound but no self-motor sound.
                              3. I tried to start the bike by pushing hard and applying second gear, but no results.
Inference: The battery was fully dead and nothing can be done now. I had to leave my bike on side of the road in front of a shop since it was 10:30 pm and I was about 20 km away from home.

I contacted the service station next day and they told me to jump start the bike using another battery and take it to the workshop. I took an auto and reached my bike. Thankfully, it was still there. I turned the key on and thought to give it another try. And the bike started!

Wasting no time, I sped my way to the service station. To my horror, after about 4 km the bike stalled again. The SS was still 2 km away. I then decided to push it to the service station.

The SS mechanics inspected the bike and said that the battery is dead but the current from bike to battery is ok. So, it seemed that the battery is faulty and we need to replace the battery. The warranty o the battery is 18 months and I was past this. No, no replacement for me. I had to pay Rs 2300 for a new battery. I paid the amount and got the battery replaced and rode back home. Problem solved?

                              Not so soon!

While on the way to home, the battery indicator started glowing again.

I decided to go to home rather than heading back as I was exhausted after pushing bike to 2 km earlier and was in no condition to do it again if the bike died again. Contacted the SS and told them about the condition and said I will come back on Monday.

Sunday passed and I dared not to use my bike.

Monday morning, I woke up early and started the bike. Within 500 m of riding, the battery indicator was glowing. I managed to ride about 19 km before the bike died down. Again! I called up the SS and told them about the situation. The SS was about 5-6 km away. They said they are going to send somebody with a spare battery and asked me to share the address of the place where I had parked my bike. I did so and came to my office. This is the current scenario.

My understanding is that the battery was fine but there is some problem with the wiring inside the bike that is draining up the battery. Hasty decision by the SS mechanic meant that I ended up paying Rs 2300 to replace a battery that was absolutely fine. Now I am waiting for the SS ppl to pick up the bike and check it thoroughly. I hope they will be able to identify the issue and fix it soon.

                              Will share the progress soon....
Riding a bike is like flying.... All your senses are alive...

                                To let you guys know..
I changed the chain and sprocket at 11,500 kms,

I am student so i wanted to keep the costs as low as possible 😬

Here in Cherthala,Kerala I know some realy experienced trust worthy Local mechanics.

Bought the chain and sprocket set for ₹1650, and the seller said that the chain has lock, unlike the chain we get from Bajaj, so its easy to install, no need of removing a lot of parts, but the chain was actually without a lock,

But the mechanic didn't show any hesitation to fix this chain although its a hefty task, he did the same way as Bajaj SVC do.
                                He charged just ₹300.
                                So total ₹1950 😊
                                1000 rupees saved.

The chain is ROLON. One of the best out there.
