Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
I read about this.i doubt short circuit would cause fire like that. Must have been fuel leakage from the engine block or something. The RS 200 has so many fuses . They would just blow up so that such things don't happen. Oh well at least it's not as common as the Galaxy note 7 exploding [emoji14]Originally posted by tanishq View Post

Whatever happened.. its unfortunate.. just imagine wat will happen if someone is on a long ride & this happens in the middle of nowhere.Originally posted by shriomman View PostI read about this.i doubt short circuit would cause fire like that. It could happen to any bike; atleast the owner didn't die along with it. According to the article, Bajaj promised him a brand new RS200.Originally posted by tanishq View PostWhatever happened.. its unfortunate.. just imagine wat will happen if someone is on a long ride & this happens in the middle of nowhere.

Nothing gonna happen. Do you know that almost all the road side mechs use just 1lt of oil for pulsars and when I ask them, they say I have been doing this for so long and no issue till now.Originally posted by Sharma Ji View PostBrother, just one doubt, what effects does engine undergo if we pour 1.0l instead of 1.2l.
It's just that you need to decrease the oil change interval

Always pour the correct amount of engine oil. Less engine oil may lead to engine damage.Originally posted by Sharma Ji View PostBrother, just one doubt, what effects does engine undergo if we pour 1.0l instead of 1.2l.
Don't listen to roadside mechanics. According to them 1L is perfect for all bikes except the bullets. Read your manual for such things.

RS and NS aren't meant for roadside mechs anyway.. The idea of 1.2L is that the engine gets completely lubricated and heat dissipation is properly done..Originally posted by abhiiceman View PostNothing gonna happen. I wouldn't give my bike to a roadside mech unless I can do the same stuff alone.. but lack the tools..
If you use low amounts of oil... It'd cause more friction, heat concentration, and hence the damage to engine would be higher.. Cmon if we can spend 1.6Lakh for this bike.. Why cut cost for 800 rupees

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
I'm not suggesting the user to use low oil, just said that even if we use 1lt of oil we won't face any issue as even with 1lt of oil the oil level will be between the min and Max mark so no issue with that. And also I won't leave the bike to local mech, I just ask them to change the oil in front of me and do basic stuff like cleaning air filter, chain lubing etc as if I change the oil it'll be difficult to find a place to dispose it.Originally posted by xmoose View PostRS and NS aren't meant for roadside mechs anyway.. Nope.. I don't think your suggestion is right.. Using 1L instead of 1.2L.. It might not show any issues at the moment.. But in the long run.. It'd cause wear and tear at a rapid rateOriginally posted by abhiiceman View PostI'm not suggesting the user to use low oil, just said that even if we use 1lt of oil we won't face any issue as even with 1lt of oil the oil level will be between the min and Max mark so no issue with that. Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Yes, please stick to owners manual for oil quantity. Remember, sometimes the oil level decreases due to seepage or burning or some unknown reason ; thus it's always good to have a safety margin when dealing with critical engine parts.
The extra 800ml left over you can use it next year also, it's not going to be an issue. But if the oil is insufficient to cool down the engine or lubricate it, you will have a potentially huge repair bill. Which won't be covered under warranty or insurance.

When did I ever suggest anyone to use 1lt. What i meant was by change in case of emergency if anyone uses 1 liter they won't face any issue is what is said.Originally posted by xmoose View PostNope.. Definitely dude and even KTMs are manufactured by bajaj. KTM engines have bajaj logo inside you can check that in 1 of the videos in MC garage in YouTube while dissembling duke 390 engine.Originally posted by xmoose View Post
I was changing the oil.. And found this in the oil filter... Should be enough to shut the mouths of all those people who praise ktm and say RS and NS would suck after a year.
