Why would you want to go through the same experience bro? Also, if the build quality is really bad as they portray, you're risking whole lot than your 1.5L money.

I don't understand all the news about low quality of alloys/brakes about RS.

The bike was tested and reviewed by almost every commercial websites and reviewer. I have seen atleast 50 videos reviewing and driving the bike. In most of the videos, people tested panic braking, stunting, hard braking on front wheel, skidded the back wheel. It was driven to almost 170kmph on race track and was thrown hard into corners in chakkan track and Lavasa curvy roads.

If the alloys were so cheap, how did the bike pass through all those reviews and hard tests? Was the bike used in reviews different than that is released into the market or Does it the question sanctity of all those reviews?

I own a RS ABS and my pride is untampered irrespective of all this -ve marketing. But seriously if something is wrong, Bajaj should be ready to recall the bikes and get them right. They also won't be ready to ruin a 15 year old brand.

Bajaj Pulsar RS200 production to be increased

maybe in a the rush to increase the production they have started cutting corners.

and let me mention it - i did own a the 1st gen 150 dtsi. those ones never had any problem of this sort.
but from the second gen onwards, the problem started surfacing, beginning with the front fork breaking of the 2nd gen 180 dtsi

aritro88... we don't know yet right,.. If all the defects were from the same lot.. So cant really get into this conclusion... And even if it came from the time after they increased the manufacture, it must have took almost 45 days..
It might be the other way around... The first batch , had a lot of bookings, and to finish the products soon, they may have rushed in making stuff..

That what he is saying was happening to me 2 on the first day i bought my rs (i was trying not to stall the rs and at speeds like 3-5it would stall ) and then my trye would skid. It happened only on the first day ,stopped after that ,i assumed it probably had to do something with the fact that i was learning the friction zone of the clutch of the bike. I dont have a proper reason why it was happening ,but it was happening so probably what the dude is saying is true. Also i also noticed i was breaking hard when I was going at 80kmph speed and a turn was coming since no one was behind me or ahead of me, i braked hard to slow down for the turn and i found my front brake tyre bending(it was a straight road yet the tyre to accomodate that hard brake was turning. IT felt like the tyre or the wheel was not handling the full pressure and the wheel was turning to stop.( i feel if i had continued breaking it may have snapped off, although that will probably never be tested again ,as i got the scare of my life and havent done that again and will not do that again.)I have noted the various issues i am getting on the bike and will ask them to check it and clear it on the second service.
My issues are
1. Chain keeps getting loose (it performs better when its loose but still why is it getting loose so fast)(goes from 25 to 28 almost immediately.)
2.False downshifts(become very prominent problem now)
3.Engine stalls when throttle not given above 3.5k-4k sometimes (i dont know why) almost never happens when its a cold start (always in traffic after some riding)
4.My brake and clutch levers bend downwards little bit and that obstructs them going fully backward (i had shown this to my local bajaj mechanic in chembur ,he said yes there is a problem its probably got something to do with abs and they dont know how to fix it (as abs and FI are done only by 2 service centers in mumbai )(amboili and ghatkopar)
5.The thud sound (speed breaker thing)
6.The bike doesnt show petrol accurately (this has started happening after first service)(when it is kept on side stand it shows even less petrol)
7.The acceleration kinda sucks(i find scootys overtaking me ,even if i try shifting gears fast)(only from 0-70 range after that scooties cant go faster so i do manage to go ahead, but i was talking about acceleration not speed)
8.Last is not a issue with the bike but with bajaj ,In mumbai ,India's top city they dont have a good service center with engineers of their own whom you can talk to and have a constructive discussion with ,who will explain stuff to you and tell you what what modifications can be done (not addons but adjusting the setting of the bike to the owners height, build etc and ability to change certain things of the bike like the seat and pelvic comfort seat with memory foam or other things like that(i know some may find it redundant and obsolete but i really think its needed, i dont mind paying extra money for it but they have no proper support )

I believe Time is the ultimate test ,Since we have the bikes we can probably experience and report all of the problems more accurately than people who had the bike for 3hrs or a week at the max. And this is India ,majority of the reviews can be bought and if you notice all the reviews they are neutral (while leaving gap for further comments at a later date) . That said we will come to know slowly slowly if its rough driving or a manufacture defect .I am inclined to believe it may be a design defect. The rs design is of the energica(similar) so if the components dont match that of the energica or have been cutdown on to give the end consumer a lower price it may cause these accidents when tested in real world situations.Although i am not sure about it and maybe completely wrong also . Again Time will tell.

I have completed 400 kms in RS. Below are my experience
1.Never had a false downshifts till now.
2. Bike stalled thrice while riding. People here advised me that it might be because of having fuel less than 3 litres. FI engine needs minimum of 3 litres. That point seems to valid because i was riding with zero/1 bar .
3. Thud sound while entering speed breaker with little speed.
4. Acceleration is Cool.. It is so smooth.. Letting everyone eat dust in almost all signals
5. Petrol gauge doesnt make sense when you have petrol less than or equal to 2 bars... If its more than 3 it seems to work
6. Regarding the good mechanic. We feel the same in Chennai. I spent more than you could imagine for my pulsar 150.. But they could never restore it after the engine got seized.. At times i think of opening the engine and do it on my own. But dont know how feasible is that. One day i will do it for sure..

I changed engine oil today (at 340km) myself. I will do one more oil change at 700km during the first service. I have used Motul 5100 4T 15W50. There are a couple of things I couldn't do it -
1. I bought oil filter but couldn't change it. The fairing was a little tight, and I had to almost remove the entire fairing to replace the oil filter. I am going to do it when I do my first service.
2. After draining all the oil I wanted to remove the magnetic strainer and clean it. However, there was some piece of metal just in front of the drain pipe. Along with it, I had to remove the fairing as well. So couldn't do that also.

I went to Bajaj SVC in Chennai, and they said they haven't heard of any problems in RS200 bike so far at least in Tambaram area. I don't have personal experience with the service centre in Adyar. However, seems like one of my friend's friend who is a pro-biker always gives his bike here... Do research and figure it out yourself.

Hi. I bought my RS Abs from tambaram jai bajaj... when I booked the bike, waiting period was said as 40 days.but got it in just 12 days.. I don't think so some dealer will help you to select a "defectless machine"... its a brand new bike and how would they tell you this one has defect tht doesn't.. Fyi they didn't even gave me a option to select a bike from showroom... they just said... we have already selected a bike for you and you cannot change as the stock we are getting is very limited.. But After getting the bike when I went to the SVC for a query they responded well.. that is important for any dealer..

Yes, I took the bike from the same dealer. I don't think anyone gives an option to choose a bike. However, I believe if you find some defect before making the full payment, they would certainly respond (otherwise how can they get your money). My only problem was, they didn't bother to clean the bike when they delivered it to me till I asked them to (yeah it was way too dusty). They also repainted some scratches (they should have done it even before I noticed them, the scratches were quite visible). Their response is quite decent. However, yesterday when I talked to them on where I could get Motul oil, they told they don't even know that such oil exists. Could be that the guy I was talking to is dumb, but I was quite surprised. (In case you are interested, Motul oil is available in a shop called Rubini oils, near Mahalakshmi nagar bus stop, next to Camp road. They charged me Rs.560 per litre). I went to their showroom quite a few times. They don't respect the bikes as much as they respect people. That I can say for sure. I see them mishandling the bikes (usually they stack up the bikes that came for service in front of the showroom), and literally dashing the bikes with each other to make sure all bikes can be placed closer. The same happens when they try taking one out. They handled it quite roughly, and I was shocked, because they didn't bother to cover it up even in front of customers. Looking for a decent service centre...

Take your bike from the closest listed dealer bro. They will make you come to them quite a few times. Also AFAIK no one cares about giving you a defectless bike and all. All that they care about is to get you a bike. They said waiting period is 40 days for me but I got the bike in less than 2 weeks. With the negative news floating around, I think the recent bookings could have dropped significantly, so you might get your bike faster too. Good luck.

Not quite sure, but as I said a few posts back, Jai Bajaj guys said they didn't see any such problem reported. How much should we trust their claim is something to be thought about.

With the negative news floating around, I think the recent bookings could have dropped significantly, so you mighjt get your bike faster too. Good luck.
Yes they gave me the bike without cleaning... I insisted them to clean the bike and the guy who cleaned the bike was waiting for me to give him money Regarding handling the bike: yes they are so rude in handling.. one guy was pushing the bike back by pressing the dome... I never knew that the bike can be stacked in that way...
Thanks for Motul oil address... I could see the poster of motul in the oil shops in the same lane of svc towards tambaram direction...
