Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Took a test drive of the RS today. Here are my initial observations:
1. Engine moves post 3500 RPM
2. Clutch has been adjusted to the front
3. The bulk of the body disappears as you start moving
4. Low speed ride is good and it can be easy to make quick changes
5. RVM's dont provide great visibility and they vibrate
6. Gear shifts aren't great. They dont slot properly and require effort.
7. Vibrations on the handle bar and the foot rests aren't pleasant
8. Engine is clearly tuned for mileage doesn't feel like a 200cc up till 6000 RPM, post 6000 RPM the engine feels smooth and picks up pace quickly
9. It does not sound refined in lower rpms
10. Comfort is good for short rides (read 60 kms)
11. Stable little fella, held up well under wind blast
12. Went with pillion didn't feel his weight at all, thumbs up!
All said and done it is not a perfect bike, it has its flaws but it's a good bike and does what it should in a good manner, it averages itself out from the com petition. So went ahead and booked it, I've been told 45 days as the waiting period.
I am fully aware of the alloy wheel problem but I think this maybe a case of one rotten pig in the sty, thrown caution to the wind and went ahead.
Would I prefer some other vehicle in this range? Not really. As I see it, the RS has competitions from the R15 which has a dedicated riding position that's not good for me and the KTM which is not my style. The R3 was in my mind but the price point made me walk away from it. Vitamin M is important while making a decision.
I hope I get the bike soon. Peace out riders!Last edited by R3VS; 07-30-2015, 03:34 PM.

At what speed exactly? Seems like someone dropped it when putting it on the side stand..Originally posted by Wild@wolverine View PostWatch "Pulsar RS 200 accident (condition after accident )" on YouTube

Lol...guy at service centre told me that owner of this bike crashed at 80kmph speed.... if it falls while putting on side stand will not destroy fairing n specially projector headlight. ..it wasn't there at allOriginally posted by mkr.coder View PostAt what speed exactly? hi am kumaran again.. many users revealed that RVM of the bike wont help them for proper visibility and also many rider complaint that mirrors has vibrations too.. myself has a question is that any point of source to change it with after market RVM's atleast for safety. i saw one rider has modified with the red mirrors..i dont know where he bought? if someone know that help me to fix with some styled mirrors.

Do check the comments there.. they say the mirror is too small and isn't even fitting the bike.Originally posted by amarme001 View PostHello,

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
hi every one i am vinoth from chennai this is my first post but i am reveiwng this forum for past one month and its very useful for me to know about the bike verywell and the good thing is yesterday i got my beast. untill the bike delivery i have lots of confusion in mind whether i have made the right decision by picking the bike because my
first choice was honda cbr 150. even i taught to cancel by booking when i read about the alloy wheel incident lots of things are revoling in mind but i was calm and waiting for bajajs responds but it makes me unhappy i dont know whether to cancel or let it go by its own way.Days passed away then finally i got call from the dealer they said your vechile got registered so you can take it today but i have some other idea still only one more day is left for my birthday then i said i will take delivery on 30 july 2015. ok now i am clear i dont bother about anything because my ears are closed now. i reached the showroom on correct time and i was waiting to see my beast they said there are some documents to be signed so i was waiting paitently to taste the beast blood finally they called me sir your vechicle is ready dor dispatch i saw the bike and egarly waiting to start the engine but the senior mechanic gave me some adivse but as i said alreay my ears are closed finally i inserted the key and started the engine the engine sound as heard from all its some what different getting goosebumps but before moving i got some doubts because i read lots for post in this forum so i started checking disk oil are full collant are at the maximum level tyres are from MRF, indicators, projectors, day lights, tail lamps, fairings & mirrors are tight so every thing is fine. Then i started the engine again as everyones advise i shouldn't go beyond 60 kmph got fixed in my mind but once started i cant control myself within some time reached 60 i am thinking whether to go above or not but the roaring sound changed my mind and pushed me to raise the throttle and felt like some thing untill i have noticed ther is a speed breaker coming ahead again my mind set got changed and started to maintain below 60 fianlly i reached my home with a smiling face and very much happy while showing the bike to my family memebers.
Here are some points that i have noticed when drving.
engine and exhaust sound are really perfect for me.
i felt very comfort while driving but both my wrist are paining i taught its due to seating & handle bar position in my previous bike because its honda dio.
projectors are very effective.
unhappy with both the mirrors & little scary whether i will hit some one.
felt more vibration on 2nd gear.
brakes i dont feel the rear break are very effective but the front one is good.

Congrats on your purchase
Virbration creep in when you are at the RPM 4 - 5k irrespective of the gear you are riding. without shoes its annoying but it is manageable.
Rear brake is not sharp as the front one. But it is good i suppose. if its too sharp, rear wheels locks up/skid frequently..
Yes adjusting mirror and finding the right position is nightmare at the beginning... we gotta tuck our hands towards tank if we wants to see whats behinds us in mirror. Even that does not help always.
Dont rely on it. Drive safe......
I have completed 480 km now. Will give first service on monday and post the experience after that.Last edited by Black0ut; 07-31-2015, 07:31 PM.
