    Hi Guys,

What about the coolant level in your bike. I have completed 350 km now. Coolant level reached the minimum mark. Should i top up now or wait till i complete 500 km? Radiator fan never kicked in till now..

Regarding the Alloy failure... That news is quite famous now. Last night few school boys discussing that issue by pointing my bike

That's disappointing, I wanted people to have 'Wow' eyes when they see my bike; And now even the kids have started giving 'Oh poor thing' expression??? :/

To those who had completed the run in period at the recommended RPM limits, a big [emoji120] [emoji120] [emoji120]. I did a 120 km (highway+city) drive, mostly maintaining at 4.5k rpm, but occasionally went up. Seriously, it seems very very difficult to adhere to the limit [emoji15].

I haven't lugged the engine. But done a lot of sudden acceleration [emoji53]. Have I done damage already? [emoji15]

My engine sounds too noisy, kind of grainy noisy. Is it just me being paranoid or something that needs to be adjusted on the machine?

The alloy wheel failure news has really left me worried. I had dropped a PM to their official FB account. Will post the response if I get.

If it was one-two off time you did sudden acceleration. Its ok...do not worry on that too much.

Just make sure you follow the run-in process religiously, next time onwards.

Get the service done at proper time. Since the bike is still in run-in process it will be a bit rough as the moving parts are still adjusting.

Once there are more kms clocked you will feel the difference. In the RS thread people have reported vibrations in 4-5k rpm range. You might be feeling these vibrations. But is it unbearable..?

        Cheers,
        Sanjay

Not exactly unbearable. But it is very much noticeable.

Did you do the PDI before taking the bike from the showroom. Most probable cause could be you missed the coolant level check in the PDI.

You also informed that the radiator never kicked in the 350 kms ride, I feel this quite hard to believe this. As due to the run-in process the bike tends to heat quickly.

Do a bumper to bumper city ride and then check again if the fan kicks in. My CBR gets the fan started in 5 kms of city ride with heavy traffic.

Take it to the SVC and get it checked at the earliest. Could be deadly if delayed, as the engine is solely relying on liquid and fan for cooling.

            Cheers,
            Sanjay

Complete the run-in procedure properly and religiously. Dont get tempted. Once the kms are clocked go for service get it done and then check for the vibrations.

Dont worry too much, the engine is still in warranty. So you should be relaxed.

Now if you go to the service center and rant about the vibrations. All you will get a reply that "saar this is normal in RS!!!"

Best bet would be to complete the run-in process complete and get the service done and then check the vibrations will settle down with time..so take a chill pill, brother!

You cannot expect a buttery smooth engine with single cylinder. A bit of vibrations are acceptable.

              Cheers,
              Sanjay

I checked the coolant level when i got the bike.. Level was near MAX. For the first two days there was leakage, I am not sure if it was Coolant, but i know thats neither water nor pertrol. I didnt research it much as in manual they mentioned coolant is poisonous .I took the bike to SVC 3rd day. They said coolant level is good. and the leakage also stopped after 2 days. Wil take the bike again to SVC. Thanks.

That is coolant overflow. Now the fan not kicking in, is my concern.

                  Keep us posted.

I would suggest you to hold on till you hear a proper explanation from Bajaj on this issue, if you aren't in any urgency.
I have this bike already, though I like it a lot, the latest news are making my heart heavy. Why get into it till you know the full story?

You can check the run-in procedures given by many in 200NS ownership forums. Few things to consider
                        1. Engine will be harsh until you change oil (in 1st service), ofcourse no Motul now... plz
                        2. If possible change filter too, but svc wont, you force them do it
                        3. The more you adhere to your bike manual (run-in period), the more smoother the result will be
                        4. The major concern is that you should not ride @ high RPM, rest is fine. Again the more you do it precisely the more better it will be
                        5. Post the run-in (how will I know?), well your engine will tell you, that she is ready to be ripped. Period, you observe the changes post every 100km.
                        6. Atleast you must follow till 1500kms, some engines will set quick (My NS took ~1800kms, now butter smooth). You MUST wait for it
                        7. If you are not that keen or interested in observing those, roughly follow upto 1800kms, at least 1500kms.

Remember, a breaking of engine as well as gearbox is mandatory for a good future riding exp. Else, you'd be left with a noising\grainy engine all throughout.
Last thing, forget the warranty stuff. No matter whatever you say, you will get nothing from SVC... Bajaj service is a crap....FOR SURE

Yes ...its good to wait for some time and see what bajaj says. As most of the guys are in ride in period it takes time to know if its a global defect...
Regarding ABS Rs 200 has single channel abs which means its works only on the front tyre... it will keep the front tyre from locking while panic braking.. usually we apply front disc brake intermittently to stop the bike without locking the front wheel ...if you squeezing the brake, front wheel get locked and ends up really bad fr rider and bike ...with ABS you can now squeeze the front brake and ABS will take care of stopping the bike safely..

relax. First of all few batches may have such chances of high failure rate. I'm taking about 0.001%, which is very high and considered serious in case of biking, because it puts our life at risk. Now, This news is not a fake, we have two incidents happened, where in the other accident we had seen the clip-ons cut into two which is very sad, because they are made of steel alloy and it either should bend or reshape but breaking into two is not digestible.

Wait for few months. The next released batch will definitely be checked for such quality issues. So that you can buy assured. Another way to avoid such is change your riding habits.
                            1. Watch for potholes, ride softer, reduce your speed in advance
                            2. watch for bumps and speed breakers and get slow
                            3. Always use engine braking and sequential downshifting.
                            4. ABS is there is help you, but don't rely on that and drive upto limits.
use the power and feature wisely. Dont use it because it's there. Even your bike may have these problems, but with your riding habits, things can get better and can prevent these breath taking defects from happening.
                            Regards

Yes, true. But ABS is there to save you, but don't always depend on that. It's a piece of electronics. ABS can fail anytime, any day like. We are not using a nasa satellite to have a fail proof or a backup mechanism. So forget ABS stuff, ride with sane speeds and have control on bike at your will.

BTW two channel ABS is the best that you can have, panic braking always triggers rear first and front next since we ride on rear brake all the time, it's easy for the brain to reach for legs rather than hand which is on throttle. two reasons why Bajaj made single channel
                            1. Front skid is risky and recovery is not possible even after releasing the brake lever
                            2. A bit cheaper.

And also, reduces the overall weight of the bike.

During college I used to compare a lot of bikes, n finally planned on buying ns.. Later I heard Bajaj is releasing a fully faired model, n so I waited for it to release.. I used to see the concept design, and when the actual model came out, I loved it.. Till now I am fixed on rs 200, and am planning to buy 2 months later...
But now a new problem has surfaced.. The alloy wheel n clip on breakage.. I'm worried, that I might be thrown off the bike, if mine had a defect..
I love this bike, n was fixed in buying it, for past 3 months.. Now this problem concerns me..
Will Bajaj, take care of the problem within 2 months? Will there be a good explanation for the incident ? Please help
