Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hi guys,
I took my red bumblebee for his 1st service and SVC guy told me to use Motul engine oil. After going through this thread I came to know that I should not have agreed. Can anyone please tell if it's going to do any damage or void warranty.
I had completed 1300 kms after service and so far there is no complaint except some vibration noise from front which I guess is coming from mirror.

Void warranty: Possible, but not probable.
Do not mention in your next service that you changed oil to Motul. I do not think they can make out just by looking that oil is Bajaj or not.Riding a bike is like flying.... All your senses are alive...

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Completed my 2000 kms and took my RS for Coorg Trip. It was raining throughout. After riding for 500 kms on a rainy day i notices some moisture and water droplets inside the Display panel. Is this something i should be worried about considering it as manufacturing defect? Please help me on this

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hi guys, i am back with another pop question for everyone and it is again for my friend's RS200.
NOM to the owners but I don't feel that awesome when I switch to RS from my P220, although the newer species from Bajaj is fantastic. The two problems that I faced while riding my friend's RS are:
1. The clutch engages and disengages at the very last part of the whole clutch movement, the part where the lever goes back to its normal position when you release it. That made me uncomfortable and ruined my happy feeling. I know this is due to the clutch setting and I will get it done to normal again.
2. The RPM shoots itself to about 3K level when you pull the clutch and downshift to negotiate a speed breaker. Something like an anti-stall thingy. That is a weird thing to have on a bike. The accelerator cable is not stuck anywhere and has ample free play. The bike remaining straight with no handle movement. Any pointers to solve this problem?
Things I didn't like:
1. The bike, seat and posture is wide. I liked how NS200 felt but RS is different. It felt big to me, it never made me feel at home. I am 5'6" from dirt level.
2. Rear brake is wooden but it does the job. It is doing its minimum requirement with no drama but has absolutely no life or feel to it.
3. The gearshifts. It is hard and does not slot properly. Again, this may be due to the clutch setting but even before that setting change it never felt wow. When hot, my 220's gearshifts feel sweet.
4. Pillion seat is NO First Floor but there is absolutely nothing that the pillion can grab on to. The slots provided in the bodywork is as useless as lighting a candle to warm up a 10 feet long room.
5. Absolutely no engine braking feel. This feels like a car and that's like a family car. You downshift to put use of the engine braking and that stupid Auto-RPM thingy cuts in to give you a gliding feeling where you need to use brakes.Regards,
Akash Yadav

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hi... i have completed 1100 km now.. till first service my clutch setting was good. After that its totally annoying. I even went to svc to restore my clutch setting. But he advised me to stay with same setting as If the setting is Sharp, clutch plate will wear sooner than the actual life time. But I am unable to manage it when I wear gloves. Wrists are paining a lot and engine is lugging. Is it okay to change the clutch setting so that I could apply minimal movement rather than completely squeezing the lever and releasing it.
Regarding pillion seat: I stopped giving lifts after buying RS not because its not comfortable for them to sit. But I want to enjoy my ride. RS made me bit selfish
Upto 6k RPM pick up really sucks.. I really have to try harder to over take other bikes once the signal turns green... But Man... after 6 k RPM it behaves totally in different way.. jumping like a horse

Hi,Originally posted by petervarughese View PostCould some one please explain what are the things done during the first service of the rs 200 and how long will it take for completing the service.. ??
Sent from my HS-U688 using Tapatalk
1. Oil and oil filter change
2. Chain lube
3. Coolant top up if needed
It hardly takes 20 mins for them to do all this but u gotta talk with svc about when are they least busy on weekdays. Mostly on monday crowd will be less.

My comments in bold. BTW the candle remark was funny, I remember the "Birbal ki khichdi" story after reading it...Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostHi guys, i am back with another pop question for everyone and it is again for my friend's RS200.

This is faulty clutch setting. When I got my bike back after the first service, the ss people had screwed up with the clutch settings rendering it a 0-1 setting not unlike the one you described. Wary of their "expertise", I changed back those settings by myself.
2. The RPM shoots itself to about 3K level when you pull the clutch and downshift to negotiate a speed breaker. Something like an anti-stall thingy. That is a weird thing to have on a bike. This is a problem. If the accelerator wire is not stuck, this could be due to ECU and unfortunately could only be taken care of by the service station.
Things I didn't like:
1. The bike, seat and posture is wide. I liked how NS200 felt but RS is different. It felt big to me, it never made me feel at home. I am 5'6" from dirt level.
This is correct. I am 5'10" but still bike feels huge to me. This is after my last bike was Karizma, not a small bike in itself!
The gears would become smoother with time. Earlier, I used to hate the gearshifts and 2-1-2-1-neutral pattern was very common. But now, I can find neutral with precision and there is hardly any false neutral.
4. Pillion seat is NO First Floor but there is absolutely nothing that the pillion can grab on to. The slots provided in the bodywork is as useless as lighting a candle to warm up a 10 feet long room.
True. But fortunately, I never had to ride with a male pillion in the past. Would be a bit awkward
5. Absolutely no engine braking feel. This feels like a car and that's like a family car. You downshift to put use of the engine braking and that stupid Auto-RPM thingy cuts in to give you a gliding feeling where you need to use brakes.
My experience is different on this. I find the engine braking to be good enough. In fact, I try not to minimize the use of brakes and let engine braking do its work.

Rachit... sometime back I was checking web regarding engine braking... More than one source says don't depend on engine braking too much because brake pads are cheap but engine is not...Originally posted by rachitsharma2000 View PostMy comments in bold.
